I want to watch this drama starting on Sky Atlantic Sunday 3rd May.
It looks scary but does have the georgeous Matthew McFaddon in
Don't know if I'm too chicken though.

No don't. I watch a documentary on bbc (the Enfield poltergeist) a few years ago and its a really really scary story.

Then I read an article about the family and the girl said she made it all up, but then said she said she only said that because she hated talking about it.

Are you sure it's Sky Atlantic? I thought I read it was Sky Living (hoping so as we haven't got Sky Atlantic!),

Yes I think it's Sky Living - I'm looking forward to it, I adore Matthew McFaddyen (sp??) as well!

I'm old enough to have remembered it at the time, but somehow it wasn't on my radar at the time. Perhaps my parents shielded me from such nonsense! (that's hat they would have said anyway).

I'm now tempted to search out the original footage on YouTube....

I've just remembered a documentary I saw was an interview with a poltergeist. It's was on channel 4 and is still available. It's a few years old but very good

Tempted but too much of a wuss- I read a book about the case years ago and that was scary enough.

i thought it was proven a hoax, still the old investigator really did think it was real

I grew up with the legend of this house as I lived very near it growing up. I doubt it'll be scarier than the 'real' footage.

Looking forward to it to see how true to life it is.

Think the general consensus now is that the whole thing looks very doubtful. The girls admitted they staged some of the scenarios to convince reporters, but insisted "most" of what took place was genuine. Hmmm......

My mate went to school with the girl. Her mum wouldn't let her walk past the house. I wasn't to ask questions but I'm too scared!

DD 15yo, DD2 8 and I, used to watch paranormal witness on friday nights. After a particularly shit-your-pants episode entitled "man in the attic" about a single Mum dealing with a poltergeist that attacked her in the middle of the night. DDq1 blamed me that there's no man in the house to protect us from evil spirits. And DD2 wouldn't sleep in her own bed for 6 months. So no we'll be avoiding.

Ooh I read an article about this just the other day. I'm not convinced.. those photos just look like the girls jumping from the bed.

However, the idea that they faked some bits to give the reporters what they wanted is plausible.

Not sure I could watch the drama, or the documentary without spooking myself out!
