Who else yelled 'Squoosh will be so pleased!' when they saw Marcus there? Grin

I think I am going to have to..... I only saw the last 18 minutes but it was great!

Fletcherl · 23/04/2015 21:18

I am a bit concerned that Simon is an immortal elf king and is starting to let is immortal side out. I am sure he was in more than one place at a time and that he is using Mesmer.

Davros · 23/04/2015 23:39

I like that Italian chef but I bet Daniel Clifford stopped for a Bigmac on the way home, I would

I think Simon will win. It's his to lose now, anyway.

Tonight is the one where we get a long intro showing them cooking at home with adoring family saying how wonderful they are, isn't it? I always enjoy that bit.

Then they each cook a flawless three course meal. No mad chefs tonight, sadly, so CornChips might be disappointed.

Re last night - yes, I thought at the time I don't think that would have filled me up! I saw them shaving tiny slivers of that beautiful loaf to put on the fish and I thought how much better it would have been to slice it up into huge hunks and slather it with really good butter, put it on a plate with a big slice of strong Cheddar, wash down with a big glass of red wine. Much quicker too! Grin

Oooh the adoring family, that is always entertaining!

Does anyone remember the old Lloyd Grossman original Masterchef? The contestants always had hobbies like tuba playing and collecting niche items like 18th century belt buckles.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 24/04/2015 11:04

I do! I think it went out on Sunday afternoons then. It was all posh dinner party food, the sort of thing I only knew about from colour photos in the Sunday Times supplement (back in the days when there was only one). The judges were LG + some sort of celeb + a chef (I think).

Blank screen Wild. Ah yes the family. Shall we play What do we think their families are like?
Emma-lovely big house full of things from her travels. Cute kids called Jocasta and Ollie. Several large dogs with exotic names. (I like Emma btw)
Simon-gorgeous petite dw, and adorable kids, live in suburbs. Has a mad terrier called Jack.
Tony-lives in immaculate designer urban loft. Lots of individually sourced retro bits and bobs. Has a Devon Rex cat called Marcus. Grin

squoosh · 24/04/2015 17:58

I can't wait to see what Simon's home set-up is.

GrouchyKiwi · 24/04/2015 18:06

Heh love the pic. Nutty Italian was having fun.

I usually ignore the family bits but I'm looking forward to them tonight.

Does Emma have 4 children too?

Just wolfing down a curry ready to go with this final!

squoosh · 24/04/2015 19:59

You've still got half an hour!

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 24/04/2015 20:00

We've just had Freezer Surprise here - turned out to be beef stew. Presentation not really up to Masterchef standards*, but nobody here seemed to be bothered, fortunately! Grin

*not much above school dinner standards, frankly

I may just dip in and out tonight people. I have a stomach bug. Probably psychosomatic thinking about the souls of shell fish. I will be watching this thread though so be good!

TSSDNCOP · 24/04/2015 20:24

Checking in. I'm hungry! DH is cooking dinner and you shouldn't Masterchef on an empty stomach.

Roussette · 24/04/2015 20:30

That was bloody delish.... now what can they offer me to beat my curry?!

Roussette · 24/04/2015 20:34

what beautiful children Emma has

TSSDNCOP · 24/04/2015 20:34

Ah bless, Emma's got a sweet family.

ilovesooty · 24/04/2015 20:35

Go Simon!
