I should have warned whoever has CJ this evening that I've trained him to make G&T at 6pm. It's the way we do things in the colonies.

Ilovelblue · 29/03/2015 18:57

Oh pixie, I'm not really a fan of gin. Did he have any other tricks up his sleeve?

Richtea19 · 29/03/2015 19:00

pixie first G&T done and now on our second.. Perfectly made, heavy crystal glass, ice and slice of lime. You taught him well. Tan lines are non existent you naughty girl! I'm helping him keep his tan for ilove for her birthday treat, plenty of after sun being rubbed in :)

Nickel45 · 29/03/2015 19:09

All ths talk of tan lines is very distracting :)

I've just taken the kids to see the new Cinderella film. Lots of research for operation bulge, given they seem to all wear jodphur type trousers (there's probably a proper name, but I don't know what it is), but I have come to the conclusion after much research the operating buge is definite preferable in low slung combats. Film was good though! Some of it was filmed near me, and coincidentally tomorrow I am taking the kids to the park near where it was filmed ... Oh, the excitement!

I've just seen there is a new chapter of zombies. So excited! Need the kids to go to bed so I can read it ... unfortunatey DH thinks they need to go to bed later as it is "really" only 6 o'clock ... Grrrr ... Doesn't he know I have more important things to do!

icemistOBE · 29/03/2015 19:11

I've rented a sunbed, so CJ's tan doesn't fade....
Is he off to Jen then? He'll be able to help her with the next chapter of In The Long Run

Have you looked closely enough Richtea? His trunks were tiny not worn very much.

I'm sure he can turn his hand to most cocktails ilove just watch him, he's like the magic porridge pot, you have to tell him to stop otherwise he'll ply you with booze all night.

Ilovelblue · 29/03/2015 19:47

My current selection of booze runs to two bottles of champagne, a mini bottle of red wine (only use it in cooking), three bottles of white wine and some orange juice! I am a lightweight when it comes to drinking but I'm hoping we'll be doing other things most of the night (as well as watching the OG DVD of course). Grin

Yes ice after you, he's up to Scotland to see Jen again. If she's having writer's block, I am sure he can clear that for her and maybe give her a few ideas.

I don't think we have a plan beyond Jen though. Who wants him next? I have in my mind that we have another Scottish contributor....

BK28 · 29/03/2015 20:02

ilove as a birthday treat, plus you are masterminding this tour I think you could cope with him for two nights. Will collect early for delivery to ice and the dentist chair on Thursday.
I think we will be taking the sleeper to Scotland - a little bit of r& r could be just what is called for. I think he might have underestimated my protection skills, I was just lulling him into a false sense of security!!

Paintedcherryblossoms · 29/03/2015 20:10

As a first timer may I request a stop off in Preston ? Grin

Ilovelblue · 29/03/2015 20:14

BK I hope CJ likes cats. Mine has taken to jumping on the bed to wake me up around 6 am. It's only three hours from Manchester on the train to Glasgow or Edinburgh so you wouldn't really need the sleeper but maybe we could arrange for it to break down in the middle of nowhere to give you extra time examining his tan lines.

The one good thing about having CJ around on my birthday is that he can act as our chauffeur to the restaurant. He was just dying to get his hands on the wheel when I drove him up from Bath and I wouldn't let him but I may relent this time (especially as it's a hire car and not actually mine). Not sure I could stand that sulky face a second time! He really did behave like a spoilt child.

Ilovelblue · 29/03/2015 20:16

Painted you must be very close to me then! But you're not interrupting my two nights!! How about we whizz him up to Scotland then he sees you on the way down. We have to fit in Mummyreeds as well, she's somewhere around us.

icemistOBE · 29/03/2015 20:18

painted he could get the train to Scotland via Preston Grin he could stay with me thursday and fri and you could have him put him up till Monday ?? Then on train to Jen

Paintedcherryblossoms · 29/03/2015 20:21

No problem ilove I can be patient I wouldn't dream of interrupting let's give him an extended stay in the northwest when he returns from Scotland Grin

Paintedcherryblossoms · 29/03/2015 20:25

Fine by me ice Smile thank you

Mumtothenipper · 29/03/2015 20:28

Hello all...
Busy real life weekend been fun. After yesterday's ridiculously early start we kept the nipper up late last night and she slept until the new 8:30 this morning!!!!! I couldn't believe my eyes! Mind you she's still not asleep now... Better fall asleep before poldark starts....

Frank I'm Bananagirl on ff, my current one is called learning the ropes.... It's a bit of gentle romance... My mum is loving the story, she can work out how to follow the email link to read the next chapter but doesn't know about this thread etc. She read all the reviews today though as she didn't realise you could do that and was very impressed by all the nice things you had to say. She kept trying to get our of me what was coming in the plot!
whajeb is a Scott... She might appreciate a visit, sure cj could help pass the time on her night shifts!

Ilovelblue · 29/03/2015 20:35

Thanks Nipper, I had definitely got it in my head there was a second Scot on this thread.

I bet your Mum is dead chuffed with all your lovely comments. 418 reviews is very impressive too.

Mumtothenipper · 29/03/2015 21:20

It's all a bit mind blowing to be honest ilove... Very flattered, so often when I'm writing it all feels like a load of rambling clap trap, then I get your reviews and my head explodes!!!!

Ilovelblue · 29/03/2015 21:33

I don't suppose Nipper that any of us knows whether there will be a second series. I'm hoping there is but it has to have CJ in as well as MD, but whatever the outcome happens to be, so long as all the fantastic ff keeps coming, I am happy. I sincerely hope you have other ideas for stories floating around at the moment to keep us occupied!

Having said that none of us knows about the second series, I bet ice has sussed it really. I wouldn't be surprised if she has a direct hotline to BA but hasn't admitted it yet.

Richtea19 · 29/03/2015 22:08

I've mananged to catch up on FF (while CJ having a rest!!) nipper whajeb rhubarb and the legend that is SPO all bloody fantastic! I curtesy like Demelza in your presence.

Full day at work tomorrow, so CJs coming along with me. We can share my swivel chair and hope to have a long lunch.....

icemistOBE · 29/03/2015 22:11

Richtea you will be the envy of all your female work colleagues tomorrow.

I hope CJ's jetlag hasn't hampered proceedings too much!

Mumtothenipper · 29/03/2015 22:22

Just recovering from poldark... Dh usually asleep meaning I watch through his snores. Tonight he kept trying to have actually conversations Roth me... Pesky man! At least twice I had to tell him to hush as there was a good bit coming. Naughty BBC setting up last weeks trailer to look like their night be trouble in paradise... This episode was just perfect, so tender and sweet! I love them together!!!!

icemistOBE · 29/03/2015 22:24

Right at the very end, mum decided to talk missed the last bit! Will have to watch it on iplayer
