Anyone else think Kalinda from The Good Wife is absurd?

After a lull of watching I'm back enjoying The Good Wife again and just starting season 4. All Kalinda story lines really put me off! The whole sexy bad ass thing is so overdone it's painful. That hotel scene with Blake in I think the third season made me actually shudder. As did the bizarre one with the FBI lady. I find it so unsexy and just completely awkward.

I cannot put my finger on it, bad acting, poor script or just the wrong actress.

Unless she is taking notes, all other scenes with her in are forced and as you say OP just awkward.

She has zero sex appeal and I am v bored of the leather jackets [yawn]

Apart from that though I love The Good Wife!

Oh my god so many leather jackets. Same outfit every episode just slightly different colour or neckline.

I just watch the scene with her and nick eating ice cream. He starts fingering her in a supposedly turning her on manner then shoves his fingers in her ice cream and she defiantly licks it. The whole thing is so at odds with the rest of the show. I don't get it.

She is annoying in s4 and s5. A lot less screen time so far in s6, you may be pleased to hear!

Diane is fabulous as is Eli. In fact, I want to be Diane when I grow up.

I thought the Nick and Blake lines weren't good.

I just watched S5 though and she's back on it. Also great so far in S6.

The most ridiculous thing is how she always but always wears skirts and knee high boots and stands with her legs open it gives me the rage every bloody episode. But I still love The Good Wife.

No way. I love Kalinda (though not her taste in clothes; the unrealistic miniskirts drive me up the wall). Quite clear the sexy thing is all an act for her.

She is really good looking though. It's not her looks that do the sexual charging though - it's her mysterious silence. Enigmatic.

I like Kalinda, but her American accent wobbles in places.

Another vote though for Diane and Eli as the best things about the Good Wife.

I think that the sometimes British accent is part of her mysterious background

I love Eli, he has come into his own over the last two seasons, I also have a crush on Cary. Think it's weird that Kalinda never carries a bag only a notebook!

I've heard other people say that, too, nottheOP, but I'm not so sure. To my American ears, it just sounds like a British actor doing a mostly good American accent, but slipping now and then.

On the other hand, Alan Cumming's accent is really good.

So after giving this some further thought I think it is that fact that she is too short to wear long boots with skirts/wobbly American accent/unbelievable in the sex scenes.

Imagine, Angelina Jolie as Kalinder?!

Eli is my favourite. I did though enjoy seeing Kalinda taking that other PI's car apart with a baseball bat. She's a good character and actress, I think she's been under-scripted.

Yep I can't abide her. I'll be happy when she's gone. Her leather jackets with the sleeves pulled up - Ugh!
There is no reason for all the unsexy sex. It adds nothing to the storylines. It's easy to make viewers aware of a highly sexual relationship without us having to see sweaty sex every week. That includes the Will and Alicia scenes too. Completely unnecessary and distracting. Bizarre.
