Lovely pics nickel. Can't decide which I like best. He looks gorgeous in all three.

The film Birdman was good last night (apart from the phantom sweet bag rustler who sounded as if they'd got loudspeakers attached to their Minstrels) and has a very funny bit where Edward Norton's character becomes a bit, ahem, aroused whilst performing on stage.Grin

I think it might have been the other way round for me icemist, I've no interest in football but surprised myself and really enjoyed the transport museum in York.

apsara03 · 19/02/2015 09:04

Thanks icemist just what's needed on a rainy grey morning

orphan · 19/02/2015 09:04

Ooh, cross posted with you icemist. More lovely pics, even the Reign one!

orphan · 19/02/2015 09:06

Thanks for cropping off the guinea pig!

Nickel45 · 19/02/2015 09:27

Must not read at work, lauighing at cropped guinea pigs this early in the day doesn't bode well!
Great pics ice, thank you. I got a lie in this morning too ... by mistake! I hadn't realised the kids had got up (they are usually so loud and early I don't need an alarm clock!) and got up late to find they had been up an hour and my mum was looking after them :) Love it! But had to rush to work :(

Right, best crack on. Just realised last night though, that I don't tend to add reviews on the ff pages if I say something on here ... sorry to all our wonderful authors, but I was just wondering whether you minded where you got reviews? Is it better to review on the ff site?

Richtea19 · 19/02/2015 10:36

Lovely pictures this morning icemist I'm two weeks behind on Reign, so I must try and catch up. I really enjoyed the transport museum in London. We are all into aeroplanes in our family (yawn!) so all good fun. Duxford air museum is a good one if you haven't been before.

My ironing pile is growing.... DH home today catching up with paperwork, but boys are off our meeting friends etc. my original plan was to do ironing whilst catching up on TV, but impossible when DH about!

orphan I always eat the sweets etc before the film starts during advert time, so I'm never a phantom rustler! We saw Kingsmen the other weekend which was brilliant. Colin Firth and Mark Strong were the pull for that film but came out thinking I rather liked Taron Egerton. Another cougar moment :)

moojangles · 19/02/2015 10:37

ooh, lots of lovely pics. Just returned from a cocktail fuelled night out, with hotel, with friend from Uni. Not seen each other for 20 years & within seconds reverted to student behaviour. No sign of a hangover for me, yet, which is beyond miraculous

Rhubarb01 · 19/02/2015 10:52

Hi just checking in to say hello. Had family with me all day yesterday so I was a bit busy. Nickel my parents love that dog diet story. They are pensioners with a sense of humour themselves so it was right up their street.

It's sweet of you to ask about reviews but to be honest given all the debate relating to reviews over the last few days I think as a writer it's best to have no opinion on the subject. I've actually found the whole thing quite off-putting and seeing some of the vociferous comments that were posted it makes me feel a bit scared of them.

I just want to say something I picked up about the writer of the story Valentine's Day that was mentioned on here a few days ago. I thought it might be the case from something else I once read but I gather from one of the review comments on Klipdoctor's story that she is possibly only about 14 and still at school which would account for any immaturity in the writing and is forgivable in that context. (I know that I sometimes read some strange things in my DD's creative writing). Obviously, lots of people wouldn't know that. If she is that young and trying her hand at creative writing than it's a much better activity than some things teenagers get up to so good on her for trying.

Onlygirljen · 19/02/2015 11:31

nickel please don't feel that you have to worry about reviewing. After all the events of this week, I'd hate to think anybody felt obliged to give feedback. I tend to agree with rhubarb that I'm a little wary of the whole thing at the moment, I just hope it all calms down a bit Hmm

Rhubarb01 · 19/02/2015 11:37

By the way. When I mentioned vociferous comments I didn't, of course, mean any of you on here. I was referring to some of the more forthright opinions posted elsewhere!

orphan · 19/02/2015 11:55

Some of the reviewers certainly got worked up in defence of Klipdoctor. Was quite surprised at some of the terms being bandied about. As long as spo doesn't throw a wobbly and refuse to update the zombie story unless reviews reach a certain target..!! Only joking spo, though I'm wondering what we can do to blackmail persuade you into coming back to us.

I hadn't read the valentine's story, but if it is written by such a young writer I think I will. Hats off to her for posting.

orphan · 19/02/2015 12:06

Having said that, I suppose the only way your writing will improve is if you receive constructive criticism, so if the young girl was including absurd situations in her story, then perhaps she should expect to be alerted to them. I don't know, I'm just glad I have no talent for creative writing and don't have to suffer the 'slings and arrows' of criticism!

KeziaOAP · 19/02/2015 12:22

For me a good book is something you want to read over and over again, some of the OG ff falls into this category, not wishing to single anyone out, MNs Ff I have read more than once even twice....!?

I'm not a creative writer in any shape or form (I have a school notebook from 50+ years ago with a comment in red ink from my English teacher "this composition is like a vicar piddling up a wall, no substance!") Shock. I do admire those that are able to write such brilliant stories and put them out there for us to read and enjoy.

orphan · 19/02/2015 12:24

richtea is that more you can't resist eating them straight away rather than not wanting to enrage someone like myself?!Grin
Have to admit I had a bag of Minstrels myself, but tore it right open in an attempt to avoid the rustling and consequently lost half of them!

Ilovelblue · 19/02/2015 12:26

Where is cjwoof at the moment? She's gone remarkably quiet since she wore out poor old CJ. Maybe she's having to rest up herself.

Nickel45 · 19/02/2015 12:36

Kezia that is so funny, can you imagine a teacher writing that in a book nowadays! Hilarilous! apsara, would you dare (I can't remember who else is a teacher?!). I can imagine the uproar in our school playground (by the grown up ones, obviously. I would be pissing myself laughing too much too care!!)

I hope you teachers are having a bit of a rest over half term. We don't even have any homework (well nothing that will take too long either), thank goodness, so I hope that you guys dont have loads of school stuff to do.

cjwoof is suspiciously quiet ... did she really let CJ go, or is she still keeping him captive ... hmm, ilove you need to make sure she has him well rested for you at the weekend Wink.

(My last comment on reviews... hopefully... but I'll just carry on reviewing what I like [you lot and a few others] and not reviewing what I don't want to ... which now includes a specific author I would have previously reviewed but now wont ... no, SPO that's not you!! Although I need a good laugh at the moment, where's the next chapter ... only joking .... whatever you guys produce and when is absolutely fine, I just appreciate the time and effort you put in to amuse me!!!!!).

Really must do some work ... I have to engage my brain today, which is probably why I am on here instead of concentrating on my real work. Ooh, time for coffee I think ....!

orphan · 19/02/2015 12:39

keziawhat a brilliant teacher comment! Now school reports are so impersonal and bland. Can you imagine the uproar if a teacher wrote that on a report now?!

Or is cjwoof currently being detained for questioning re improper practices involving a swivel chair?

orphan · 19/02/2015 12:40

nickel oops, said the same as you!

Ilovelblue · 19/02/2015 12:42

Nickel he's off to mooj's house next remember. I just hope she doesn't tire him out too much. After me (and presumably my friend), we will drop him off with icemist on my way back north.

icemistOBE · 19/02/2015 12:45

We should have t-shirts done with 'CJ on Tour 2015' with the dates and places on the back Grin

OP posts:
KeziaOAP · 19/02/2015 12:47

The teacher in question died not so long ago aged 99 I saw him about 10 years ago and reminded him Grin - he had a great sense of humour. Mind you my mum and dad weren't too impressed at the time although I do remember them laughing about the comment later.

Reckon cjwoof is in detention somewhere or AWOL Confused

LolaKent14 · 19/02/2015 14:22

For those that read my 'Our Girl meets Broadchurch'. This might amuse you!

www.radiotimes.com/news/2015-02-19/david-tennants-broadchurch-voiceover-is-now-a-brilliant-video--and-it-really-isnt-like-doctor-who

orphan · 19/02/2015 14:22

whajeb love your update. I wouldn't mind doing some conjugating with CJ, vulgar or otherwise!Grin

orphan · 19/02/2015 14:31

lola that's brilliant. Glad he can see how silly some of it is, but why no mention of CJ or KA??!!!Grin I liked the bit where he talks about speaking quietly then shouting randomly!

KeziaOAP · 19/02/2015 14:55

Lola brilliant, wonder if we could point him in the direction of your ff Smile.
