Just back from a night with a friend (at her house) a good catch up and gossip. So many ff updates to catch up, yippee. :)
More mini marathon trial tomorrow morning with DS and then lunch with another girlfriend, and quite possibly dine in for 2 with DH for Valentine's!!

I'm going to have to read ff tonight as they are tempting me and I can't wait until the morning.

Richtea19 · 14/02/2015 00:23

rhubarb totally brilliant update. Your story is a book that I can't put down, I love that Molly is so strong and determined. Just brilliant.

jen a perfect valentines story. I love that you got a Swivel chair in and I did laugh when you refered to charles as a " prune" in the bath as I though of the VM the "raisin" !!

Anyway knackered and should be asleep, but couldn't resist a read!
Night all

Rhubarb01 · 14/02/2015 07:18

Thanks Richtea for the comments and review. I've decided that next time I update it will be all the remaining chapters of the story to complete it. That means its going to take me a while longer to write - I'm banking on having more time because its half-term and I'm not working - kids lounge around in bed and refuse to get up till lunchtime usually - hooray! I know (obviously/hopefully - kidding, yes I do!) where its all supposed to be going but I'm not sure that everyone else is finding it that easy to stick with. So, if anyone is reading and waiting - it might take me a week to finish it off but I promise I will.

And Jen - yes thanks for more CJ bathtime!

icemistOBE · 14/02/2015 07:24

Lots of FF to read. Nice to see some one shots as well.

Morning (yawn). Didn't get to bed til gone 1 and now off to London with hormonal daughter (plus her equally volatile best friend) who has a very set idea of what she wants to buy and will have a melt down if it isn't available in her size...

richtea now there a happy valentines thought for me: The Raisin plus CJ in the bath!

rhubarb now I'm very excited - all the rest of the story in one go!

Have a lovely day everyone. Everyone is too busy pumping up their CJ suits for their husbands

moojangles · 14/02/2015 07:59

Ooh icemist my fave Captain Sternface, the perfect birthday gift.
Had a truly shocking week at work & all the lively ff & antics on here were a perfect end to the week.
Just need a volunteer to wear my pump up CJ suit!
Happy Valentine's Day one and all

Richtea19 · 14/02/2015 08:12

mooj happy birthday Flowers. !

Lovely pictures this morning icemist perfect for valentines.

rhubarb it would be great to have your story in one go, but we wouldn't want you to take on too much! We are just so lucky to have a brilliant story to read :)

Good luck orphan going shopping with teenage DS is hard, but I can only imagine what it would be like with two girls. Mind you today I am meeting a friend for lunch at a big shopping centre and she texted this morning so say she was bringing her girls as her hubby works in the Middle East and didn't want to leave them on their own at home, ther're teenagers! I would have left them at home... Another bad mother alert for me! So basically I could also be feeling your pain today orphan.

Woke up with a sore throat and sniffy nose, probably the shock on my body that I've got a job! Might need some retail therapy to make me feel better Wink.

Is anyone going to see the fifty shades of grey movie? I hated the book, but I'm coming round to JD, based on his interviews he is growing on me, no CJ though!

Onlygirljen · 14/02/2015 08:57

Morning! Youngest up at the crack of dawn this morning, so I've been catching up on ff reading while he catches up with peppa pig (bad mother alert!). Loads of brilliant updates about, well done everybody! lolagirl do you think you will do any more of the non OG story you posted a few days ago? I'd like to read more!

Happy birthday mooj and good luck to richtea and orphan for the shopping outings. I'm feeling a bit under the weather, so think it'll be a quiet one for me. Might nip out for a little meal deal for 2 from M&S though!

Oh and richtea, I'm tempted to see 50 shades. I didn't enjoy the book that much and can't say the character of CG does much for me. But JD is quite a tempting prospect. He was on Graham Norton last night - watching Julie Walters have a hot flush beside him was putting me in mind of the MN contingent if presented with CJ!! Grin

moojangles · 14/02/2015 09:13

I'm going next week, we kind of dared ourselves into it. Did you see the cake that had been made? Creepy!
Shopping with teenagers, stay focused, stay alert, stay alive?!

Rhubarb01 · 14/02/2015 09:17

Don't expect I'll see Fifty Shades as I don't get to the cinema much but JD seemed nice (preferably minus the beard). Didn't read the book either but heard it wasn't that great. I had to laugh when they asked if any men in the audience had read it and only one put his hand up and when asked what he thought of it said "They're shite!" How embarrasingly funny for an actor appearing in the most talked about film of the year. I'd say its embarrassing for the writer but she's laughing all the way to the bank and can't care at all!

Anyway, off to work, maybe pop in later. Have a nice day everyone!

icemistOBE · 14/02/2015 09:23

Glad you all like the pics today. I was trying to find my fave all time ones Smile

Want to see 50 shades but will prob get a dodgy dvd copy... It's a lot tamer from the books though. Must watch graham norton I really like his show but hubby hates it

We're out tonight for some drinks- not been out together for a long time!

Need to watch Reign today as well. Need to tidy sitting room as it's messy after this morning

Oops hubby's work just rung- he's meant to be in work today

Morning all. Happy birthday mooj.

We are off to ascot today ... Free tickets! Hubby loves it, I tolerate it .... I don't see much racing, spend most of the time keeping the kids entertained, and somewhere I can see them!

I'm not sure, yet, if I want to see 50 shades. I am coming round to liking JD a bit, but without the beard ... don't like that! He's no CJ, but quite watchable!!!

moojangles · 14/02/2015 10:00

Only read as was off long term sick and very bored. Ended up skipping the sex bits

Richtea19 · 14/02/2015 10:20

mooj like you, I wasn't bothered about the sexy bits in the book. I actually prefer jens QS than that of Fifty Shades of Grey. The author is stinking rich now, so perhaps jen you need to get a book deal. We can be your researchers!!!

LolaKent14 · 14/02/2015 10:42

Just in case CJ wants to send a card. Thought I would assist.
Low slung combats check
Big Gun check
Captain Stern face check
Rose behind ear double check

pixieg1rl · 14/02/2015 11:16

A midwife friend posted this on Facebook the other day. I won't be watching it at the cinema I can't remember the last film I watched for me, my cinema trips are normally for DS. Planes 2 was the last one.

Ooh lovely lie in this morning, loads of ff to catch up on and wishing I'd received Lolas valentine card from a certain person. Going to see 50 Shades next week but not a great fan of JD nor have I read the book...just looking forward to imagining it's CJ in the starring role sigh

cherin · 14/02/2015 12:50

Ahahahahah, pixie, that was a good one!! I was more thinking about A&E personnel getting specific training on how to remove ligatures and sort out indiscreet bruises, in the short term...(but I haven't read the book either. I may run on a parallel time zone, I always catch up with hypes a few years after they've been forgotten ;-)

(Things like to wolf of Wall Street left me completely unmoved, btw. Poor chaps. Resorting to snort drugs form a ladie's bottom. Gives my ordinary life such a glamorous hint of ...sanity, I suppose ;-)

Ilovelblue · 14/02/2015 13:58

Afternoon all. Just finishing a late lunch whilst watching episode 4 and then about to go out and do some more clearing up in the garden.

I read the first 50 Shades book and thought it was utter cr*p and had no intention of reading the others but a woman on our table on a cruise that summer persuaded me that the other two were improvements so I bought them, but they were utter drivel. Pure filth strung together with the most tenuous of storylines. I am sure I reviewed Jen's ff with something along the lines of it being much better (and believable) than 50 Shades.

However, I am going to the cinema to see it the week after next. A friend from work wants to see it and doesn't want to go on her own. My fear is that we will end up sitting next to some dirty old man in a mac. I think Jamie Dornan is very nice looking though it's interesting to think how CJ would have performed in the role! I saw a bit of Graham Norton last night but will watch it properly tonight.

Rhubarb I know I keep saying it but your story is too good just to be on here - we really need to persuade the BBC to take a look at it. I can just imagine it being serialised on BBC1 on a Sunday night.

WHAJEB1 · 14/02/2015 13:59

Blush I went to see 50 shades and have to say i wasn't really impressed. There were some nice bits in it but don't think I was (even at my age) ready for some of the ahem bits just found them really embarrassing!!! Didn't help that there was someone sitting behind us constantly tapping their foot. The folk we spoke to on our way out also thought it was a bit pants, didn't feel there was any chemistry between CG and Ana. But that is my humble opinion xx

Onlygirljen · 14/02/2015 14:33

whajeb I don't know anyone who's been yet, so it's good to hear a review! Do you reckon it's still worth a watch (going in with low expectations) or best to just give it a miss?

Onlygirljen · 14/02/2015 14:38

Ps ilove, thanks! I am honestly amazed at the fortune that EL James has made off the back of it - 100 million book sales! Crazy! I do like a bit of smut (shock...!!) but even I ended up flicking through the sex scenes to try and decipher if I would ever get to actual storyline.

Quite interested to see how JD comes across in it after really enjoying the Fall.
