Not a beard fan myself either, but must admit I wouldn't say no to David Beckham at the moment. Presumably he's the one responsible for making beards fashionable lately. Don't mind a bit of stubble though as long as it's not too scratchy.

apsara03 · 12/02/2015 11:04

I feel your pain with the early risers. I self medicate with coffee and cake. DS1 who is 7 is always up by 6 It can be any time from 4 and once he's up, still we count ourselves lucky as he does go to bed and stay asleep. Many autistic children have very disruptive sleep patterns.
I'm sitting in the kitchen with a coffee listening to loud drilling and chunks of masonry falling down - the builders knocking through for the loft conversion.. Really want to watch episode 2 my favourite 2 but can't as although it's on the sky box the builders have knocked that do no signal (nno problem as can watch on sky go on laptop just not access pre recorded stuff) and friend had got did. Still I'm seeing her tomorrow so will get it back do will have to make do with whatever I find on you tube

cherin · 12/02/2015 11:06

it's just swings and roundabouts of style...we all look back at our pictures in the teens and cringe at the shoulder pads and make up, right?
(luckily, i was always camera shy...and tomboy...with unkempt curly hair...so really i haven't got MUCH evidence around. The little i have makes me shiver, though)

Richtea19 · 12/02/2015 11:44

I've noticed sixth formers with full ish beards too, one of DS friends in year 11 has one, I think does weight training so I am sure must be steroids or something as surely 15 is a bit young for full in bushy. My DS has "bum fluff" !! cjwoof like you I wouldn't say no to Beckham. I wouldn't want him to speak though Wink

pixieg1rl · 12/02/2015 11:57

What does Beckham's beard look like these days? Is it still like Mr Claypole? If so, no thanks. I don't go for groomed or manicured facial hair.

When DP and I got together he had a more goatee arrangement which I didn't like, then he was clean shaven for a few years, and now has a fuller beard. I like a full face beard, but quite short, not a Brian Blessed version.

cjwoofwoof · 12/02/2015 13:08

No no no pixie Beckhams beard defo NOT a Mr Claypole, just suitably all over coverage and well groomed and very very nice indeed so long as he doesn't talk.

Richtea19 · 12/02/2015 13:28

I always think Beckham sounds a bit squeaky, needs a voice like CJ!!

lloupey · 12/02/2015 13:31

Hi ladies just wondered if you had seen this, I'd seen another video obviously shot at the same time but hadn't seen this so thought I would share, sorry if it's old news

Fabulous ff at the minute you guys who are writing are so talented I have no idea how you find the time to fit it in whilst keeping up the banter and AGM planning, I am in awe Smile

cjwoofwoof · 12/02/2015 14:13

Aah Iloupey I've not seen that interview before, lovely! Now THATS the kind of voice Beckham should aspire to - dreamy...

Richtea19 · 12/02/2015 15:28

loupey I have seen that interview, but always good to see it again. I particularly like the way BA strokes his chistled chin with his lovely long fingers.

orphan · 12/02/2015 15:48

My ds' great ambition, sadly never to be realised if his dad is anything to go by, is to be able to grow a beard. He really wants to have a proper wet shave etc at a barbers and had his eyes on a trendy one in east London (at an eye watering price) but he's remained resolutely hair free on his chin!

Beckham is ok, but not keen on all the tats and the knowledge of his squeaky voice is always at the forefront.

orphan · 12/02/2015 15:55

Was in Sports Direct today (how many trainer socks can my dd lose?) and at the till I was slightly distracted by a men's sports/health magazine with Djokovic bare chested on the cover. I hadn't realised quite how hairy his chest is. It was a b&w shot and he was clutching a broken stringed racquet, so it was a little hard to distinguish hair from strings but it was certainly eye catching for a middle aged cougar anyway.

Ilovelblue · 12/02/2015 17:14

Been busy at work today and so not had much time to check in here and off to friends for tea very shortly.

I've sent Nickel the compilation of the euphemisms and how to speak like a CJ Collective Obsessive in the hope that she can get it to come out properly on here as I've tried and failed. Not sure whether it's me, the version of Excel or the MN website.

Iloupey I have seen that interview before but had forgotten all about it. CJ is absolutely dreamy on it. As Richtea has commented already, those lovely long fingers.....gives me goosebumps.

orphan · 12/02/2015 18:39

painted glad to see you've found time to write as well as have swivelling fun in your superduper vibrating chair. Grin

Paintedcherryblossoms · 12/02/2015 18:49

Needed to ramp up the vibe orphan to clear my writers block
Have been toying with an AGM story to lighten the mood I have angst fatigue

orphan · 12/02/2015 19:02

Sorry, painted, snorted out my tea when I misread ramp up the vibe!! I need help; cjwoof has turned my formerly pure and innocent mind.

Paintedcherryblossoms · 12/02/2015 19:07

Intentional euphemism orphan Grin

Nickel45 · 12/02/2015 19:15

icemist saw this today, thought of you :)

And the second one is for everyone .... I like this idly googling lark while the kids are in the bath luckily they are so loud I don't have to watch them! Good headset shot!

Ah, we also had trouble with DS2, he only started sleeping through the night well past 2.5years. I am not a big fan of drastic measures or scientific methods, and luckily he's now started to be ok. He's never up later that 7, that's for sure, but at least he doesn't call 3/4 times per night anymore, and if he does it's just for a wee (and he can't be trusted yet to take his sleeping bag off properly. Give me time, I'll train him for that, too!)
Having said so, I am still caffeine addicted, even if now I could sleep longer :-) but I read here, Ff, books etc...

Richtea19 · 12/02/2015 19:57

Lovely photo nickel so beautiful with the sunset in the background framing his gorg face. I have been doing a bit of idyl googling, and can't believe there is nothing out there about BA in Canada. No photos of them going out etc. And also HH have a load of pictures of all their clients in what they are in but nothing of BA. Think I'll take a look at E! Online they are good for american gossip!

pixieg1rl · 12/02/2015 20:07

I love that you are blaming cjwoof for corrupting you orphan!

I think my DS is similar to yours cherin, he never slept through until about 2.5. I used to hate those mums whose kids slept through the night from babies.

cherin · 12/02/2015 20:52

It surely put a strain on us as a family, and we are more than certain we stop with 2 kids :-) even if now we have an adorable, expressive, outgoing kiddo, but we still can't cancel the panda-eyes!!
(Luckily he came as number 2, or he'd have has no chance of a sibling! ;-)
Ah the little bleeders, still worth every grey hair...

Nickel45 · 12/02/2015 21:00

I'm still catching up on my lack of sleep! And need lots of coffee! Neither of mine slept much. No 1 son didn't sleep through till he was over 2, which is why I have a three year gap!! No 2 DD dropped her daytime sleeps at 18 mth and didnt sleep through till she was 4. Most of my friends had kids who slept through really early on and i hated it and I used to wonder what I did wrong, but I am convinced it's just down to the kids, and nothing makes any difference. Believe me, I tried everything. On the plus side, I can now drop off to sleep really really easily, mostly anywhere (or maybe that's old age catching me up?!?!)!

icemistOBE · 12/02/2015 21:03

Aww thanks Nickel. He fell asleep on me just after 8 so I'm hoping that might trigger his usual wake up time.
All I could find from BA in Canada is this
tvline.com/2015/02/12/reign-season-2-spoilers-bash-kenna-antoine/
I guess there are son many movies and shows filmed in Canada at moment that BA is a very small fish in a big ocean...

I'm honored to be labelled as the euphemism corruptor on here, but have to say some of you make it sooooo easy to slip one in every so often, it now comes naturally...
