I did think taking the dogs to the Dublin archives was particularly naff. Not as naff as David Tennant picking up bones from the church floor though.

He thinks he's Jeremy Irons, I'm guessing

liked the look of his little irish hideaway though by the river.

God wasn't he just the Compleat Luvvie? All those shots of him looking pensively into the distance. and all that 'weird that my ancestors liked to live by the sea and so do I' stuff - how unique must his family be - hardly anyone likes living by the sea .

It's the first time I've ever thought the subject was just a tosser. And they've had plenty of actors on! The Chartist stuff was interesting but clearly the brains went down another branch of the family tree... switched over and caught a few moments of Moira Stewart's episode on Freeview. What a difference.

God i really wanted to watch this and am currently sulking as hub is watching some rubbish on more 4!!!!

But his determination to find not just Irish roots but Cork roots...? Hmmm. How far back would he have gone do you think, 'oh well, it was in Cork that my great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great great primate grandfather took his first steps towards mankind...' Or similar?

I absolutley love this series but this episode bored the pants of me,actually stopped watching it.
He came across as a self obsessed luvvie who desperatley wanted to be irish....dull.

I know Merlin. I thought, that's the life: kids grown up, enough dosh, lovely peaceful place like that to escape to... Oh - maybe my ancestors were really big in lovely peaceful places, 'cause I love them too...

It was quite dull though I agree, that is the first one I have watched right through and I did find myself tuning out at times.
