Well.
Today is going swimmingly!
Started badly...poor ds1s friend is being a little shit again.
He told Ds to be ready early this morning (8am) so Ds dutifully gets ready early.
Then he and another friend walked near our house (we saw them) and ran off up a a different road.
Why would they do that?
Ds says they haven't fallen out, he is completely bewildered by it all, I am just angry.
He did similar last year and then asked Ds to make up....and Ds did.
Little fucker.
Then went to ikea with mum.
Got back to her house and my car key jammed in the boot lock!
Had to call green flag out!
Just got home.
I am having a coffee and trying to chill out.
Grrr.

Im getting slightly worried about my mum. Im not sure but I think she might be getting a bit of dementia. Shes 73. Shes been increasingly scatty, anxious and a bit daft over the last few years, tbh I thought it was just her / old age and Ive found her a bit irritating not been very symsympathetic (fucking stutter phone). No really major confusion like getting lost; she still drives, but increasingly nervous (avoids momotorways, night driving).

But on monday she said something that made me a bit Shock - we opened a birthday card from a friend of hers, looked at it, commented on the voucher inside for at least a minute (whether it could be used online etc.) Then literally two minutes later she said, "ooh did you get a card from xx? She said she had sent one."

Should I be worried / what should I do, if anything?

Baddz · 27/01/2015 13:11

Hmm tricky one Madame.
Have you looked at the dementia symptoms checklist on one of the dementia websites?
Perhaps a chat to her gp?

MadamedeChevreuse · 27/01/2015 13:28

No I havent bads, thanks, good idea.

FolknNorah · 27/01/2015 13:33

Baddz · 27/01/2015 13:45

Trouble is I am now sitting here plotting this kids untimely demise :)

Baddz · 27/01/2015 13:46

Oh, and my cousins husband had a massive heart attack on Sunday.
He's kook thank god, but, Christ...some good news would be nice!

Baddz · 27/01/2015 13:47

Kook?
Wtaf is kook?
Ok.
He is ok.

Flopsy28 · 27/01/2015 13:54

Sshhhhh, you ain't seen me right?

Just popping in before MRI scan in a bit. I know it's annoying for her but I'm loving madame's stutters phone 'mo motorway' is a particular fave of mine Grin

About your mum though, sounds a bit worrying, I'd definitely get it checked out, or at least start tracking it a bit, you know, making notes about the type of things she forgets or gets anxious about.

norah my poor love! you've been through the ringer haven't you just not the washer or dryer? I love that you have a designated child who does the difficult reaching Wink

letus, James are playing in a forest near me in the summer, sounds like a good gig. Tom Odell too I think.

Ok, better get going, got to lie still for ages, bet I get an itch on an awkward place. Oh, yes and I've just started blobbing, literally 5mins ago. I swear my body I'd against me. I wonder if Always show up on MRI scanners. And the feckers weigh me.

ApricotCrush · 27/01/2015 14:03

Oh dear, wenches in distress today. Thanks to you all.

Madame I think it's just a short term memory thing, or an senior moment, which does happen as you get older. Both my Mum and MIL died from dementia, but it does take years before it gets really bad. I think it's a watch and wait situation.

Good luck with the scan Flops.

Must go and get some food, the fridge is empty.

ApricotCrush · 27/01/2015 14:05

Oh, and two reviews of Episode 2 from America, one good, one so-so.

Madame stick your phone in a freezer bag of uncooked rice and pop itin airing cupboard /top of boiler (somewhere warm anyway) overnight. The rice draws any moisture out of the phone. I promise it does work. I dropped my phone into my breakfast cereal a couple of years ago, thought it was fucked, tried this and it saved it.

I agree re keeping an eye on your Mum. She may have just been having a moment? I'm am more than capable of having a conversation like that if I'm not really paying attention. Or it could be.......yeah I would just keep an eye on her. Hopefully a blip.

Hope the MRI is ok Flops. Do you cope with them? Guessing you have had a few. I also have begun to blob today and am sure it is early. I hardly ever get them heavy (implant) so was wondering who to blame. ....bet I know what is itching now.....

Bads I would be plotting that too. Little shit eh. Hope your DS is ok and it has sorted at school.

Right gtg and do stuff before school run.

chaiselounger · 27/01/2015 14:42

FolknNorah · 27/01/2015 16:02

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 27/01/2015 16:36

Afternoon wenches.

Why the fuckity fuck haven't they done that official S3 announcement today????

FancyFancy · 27/01/2015 16:54

Afternoon, catching up on the thread whilst waiting for DD to come home (her first time on the non-school bus [need a slighty worried emoticon]! )

norah, an excellent word, and one I shall be using later. You have been truly inspirational today with your sweary inventiveness and courage in the face of laundry traumas.

madame I hope your phone survives (even if the copying thing is quite funny to read Blush ). I don't have anything useful to add to the sound advice from other wenches about your DM, so Flowers

flopsy hope all went well for you today

Thanks for the links to the reviews apricot

chaise - sorry to hear that yesterday wasn't good, what happened?

How was your DS when he got home badders? My DS came home & announced that some little bollockfacedshitnugget (thanks norah) ruined his pencil case, so he needs a new one. DS didn't pursue it with the teacher (who was quite happy to dish out sanctions), so keeping the bollockfacedshitnugget (thanks norah) from getting into trouble. DS suggested the bollockfacedshitnugget (thanks norah) could buy him a new one, to which bollockfacedshitnugget (thanks norah) said he "didn't want to",

What makes this so irrating is that bollockfacedshitnugget (thanks norah) is (according to DS) probably the richest bollockfacedshitnugget (thanks norah) in the whole school. Fucking tightarsedbollockfacedshitnugget.

Baddz · 27/01/2015 16:57

Hi fancy.
Ds says he is ok.
Apparently the little shit in question has moved onto walking with another boy (fine) but thinks it's ok that he didn't let Ds know.
Little fucker.
Luckily, Ds has other friends at school and can walk with some other boys.
Just...why would you do that? needs to stop trying to rationalise the behaviour of little shits

Baddz · 27/01/2015 17:00

Ime the richest kids are usually the worst little twatbadgers
As long as Ds is ok, I'm ok.
If not I would have to start removing kidneys with a spoon Angry

FancyFancy · 27/01/2015 17:13

Glad to hear your DS is ok badders & particularly that he has other boys he can walk with. (I hope that was a rusty spoon you had plkanned on using Wink )

It is funny how many of the worst behaved kids at DS's school are the rich ones, who's parents would've done anything to avoid sending their kids to his primary school Grin

FancyFancy · 27/01/2015 17:14

planned on using

FancyFancy · 27/01/2015 17:17

Quite sparks. And how long does it take to edit the Apple thing? There's no need to edit Santi - he always looks & sounds FAF. DON'T CUT OUT A SINGLE SECOND

SparklesRedHotChileLeather · 27/01/2015 17:22

Yes. Don't even get me started on the Applewankers.

HOW LONG?? All they have to do is press PLAY Hmm
