Anyone know why Liz Carr (Clarissa)'s name is at the top of the end credits?

OP posts:
diddl · 21/01/2015 19:37

Are the credits not alphabetical?

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 21/01/2015 20:01

Diddl her name is actually above the rest of the cast, in bigger letters!

OP posts:
diddl · 22/01/2015 07:25

she doesn't seem to be in the opening credits.

It seems to be Emilia fox, David Caves & Richard Lintern.

then closing credits, Liz Carr followed by other cast alphabetically.

Icimoi · 22/01/2015 21:08

Mrs McRuff, I think the team is an independent company providing forensics services. So it's reasonably credible that they would provide quite a wide ranging service going beyond post mortems.

I think Emilia Fox is a very good actress, improving as she gets older - in fact it's interesting how as time goes on she looks more and more like her father.

MissWimpyDimple · 22/01/2015 21:26

I usually love it but I think both of the last two stories have had serious holes in them!

We seem to see things happen that are then completely refuted in a rushed explanation right at the end.

Also v little actual forensic work done and the team seem to be tagging along with the police on all sorts! Raids, interviews etc.

Makingchanges · 22/01/2015 21:41

I also wondered about Clarissa. Decided after watching out for a few weeks it's just dos she is a main character not on the opening credits whereas the others are. At first I also thought that she may have died but nope.

rumbelina · 23/01/2015 11:17

Isn't it awful that we see someone's name higher than others and think they've died Grin

orangepudding · 23/01/2015 11:22

I assumed Liz Carr had died when I saw her name at the top of the credits.

I felt so sad when the dad said he had missed his boys first steps at the end, was a hard couple of episodes to watch.

SymphonyofShadows · 23/01/2015 13:19

I thought the Lyle Centre was part of a university campus. Don't they usually describe themselves on SW as 'Home Office pathologists'? So not a private company

FoxyMcFox · 23/01/2015 13:55

Well after SW and Broadchurch I don't think I can take much more unbelievable shite from my once favourite tv shows. I am fed up of yelling "WTF" at the tv all the sodding time.

But Emilia Fox has such lovely hair...

poppyisbest · 26/01/2015 21:20

What gets me is if you start watching and say who's the most unlikely one to be the murderer then work backwards you usually get it right, as its always a child or a woman. Which is getting really, really annoying, in my opinion. Clearly written by a misogynist

SabrinaMulhollandJjones · 26/01/2015 21:40

I know what you mean, Poppy. It annoys me that women or even children are disproportionately the murderers in SW and the like- for the shock value I suppose.

I liked that Broadchurch had a statistically more likely murderer- ie. man already known to the child. (It's not going to turn out not to have been him is it?!)

Eastwickwitch · 28/01/2015 08:15

Gosh, I was confused after last night's episode.
Was Scottish Security Man involved all along or only after his family were threatened and was he cahoots with handsome brother?

frostyfingers · 28/01/2015 13:36

I don't watch this for it's realism but it does seem to be getting more than a bit ridiculous. This most recent story had 5 deaths, but barely a post mortem in it - all this rushing around in paper suits and plastic gloves to solve the crime before the police is bonkers.

christmaspies · 28/01/2015 17:49

Emelia Fox has always got her mouth open. It really irritates me.

diddl · 29/01/2015 08:24

I don't think I made head nor tail of this one!

So two sets of people were trying to kill Maxim, but he was killed by his mistress's brother. And they were lovers, which is why he did it!

Where did the daughter go (did her father take her there?) & who was looking after her?

Why was it taking her mum so long to get to her?

She was obviously close to Yasmin, but when Yasmin was talking about being a family with maxim & his daughter, I was thinking "where's the consideration for the mum"??

Was she an unfit mother, would he definitely have got custody??

Icimoi · 31/01/2015 23:26

Daughter went to the U.S. Maxim presumably had a minion accompany her. No idea why her mother hung around, maybe she was hoping Maxim would come back to her.

beaglesaresweet · 01/02/2015 13:51

East, I think the Scott meant it when he said there was no point threatening his family, but yes he was in cahoots with brother, it's not clear whether this was after or before the threat from other party. It was a bit silly, as in "I'll do it for him (loyal to boss) but not for you lot' whereas result suited both.
What I don't get is why the woman who tried but failed to kill Maxim, was paid a lot of cash at the station? Just for issuing threats? or did she make the boss believe that it was their doing killing Maxim (not very likely, is it, the woman boss could find out).
diddl, daughter was sent with someone else because it wasn't safe for her to be with the father of course, his wife was trying to pursuade him not to divorce, but he did threaten her to take the daughter as he is just the boss in that marriage and does what he wants basically, she did marry the money after all. He may not have got custody, it's just a sideline.
Lastly, to portray a crooked oligarch as a Romantic Hero is ridiculous! Equally ridiculous to find a handsome (and not Russian) actor for the role, most of he real oligarchs are far from attractive and they are definitel ta lot more cynical than Maxim. The whole line that he is against the crooked President is also laughable, as they way oligarchs got their money in the past was because they were extremely well connected with the previous president and 'perfectly legal' as he puts it was deliberately arranged in cahoots with the government to suit both (and yes, steal from people's pensions etc). So please don't make us laugh with tyring to make him look noble and romantic against an evil president!
Some of it was good enough, especially the sneering fsb woman, and the incest storyline, yes, sensationalist but it was done quite well/with depth, I thought.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 01/02/2015 13:59

Dh googled the original question after I wondered it aloud the other night - apparently, as pps have said, it's because she doesn't appear in the opening credits but has a major enough/permanent enough role to require a proper mention, as it were!

BeverleyCrusher · 01/02/2015 14:09

So why not just put her last in the opening credits?
(It's a question which had been troubling me for weeks :o)

TheannamoLeelu · 02/02/2015 21:09

Anyone watching this week? What was the song played at the start of today's episode?

AuntieMaggie · 02/02/2015 21:15

i couldn't quite understand why they were accusing the policeman of murder saying there was gun residue etc - why didn't they just go to the gun club in the first place, surely he would have to sign in and out of there and say what guns he was firing?! reminds self not to poke holes in silent witness
