Couldn't see a new Eastenders thread, so I thought I'd start one. Apologies if this is a duplication.

Great to hear Christian could be coming back.

Samantha Womack mentions Oklahoma here... Maybe it's Ronnie! Wink

Fakebook · 21/01/2015 21:00

Ah I see, thanks chuck. I'll have to watch it to make a decision whether it's music from the jewellery box.

I'm checking fb to see what's come up!

okeydonkey · 21/01/2015 21:02

I like this theory , copied from my face book

Right well if you remember correctly Lucy kept her drugs in the box. So I think someone caught her with the drugs and they argued and that's how Lucy was killed. I think it was Jane. Simply because instead of disposing of the purse and phone she put them under the Beales floor boards, she lied about seeing Lauren not going into Beales house because she said that she could see from the masoods (which isn't possible because you can't see because there are trees in the way) Jane also left and wouldn't go Lucy's funeral. Also it appeared under the tree at Xmas and stuff only started happening after her return and also Emma when she left the pub just before she died looked at the Beales and then the masoods.

AGnu · 21/01/2015 21:04

Oklahoma was written by Rodgers & Hammerstein. Hammerstein's first name was Oscar. Maybe Abi wasn't the only one of Max's children to find out about his affair with Lucy - he got angry that his dad was off with yet another woman while he seems to have forgotten poor Oscar exists... I may be over thinking this now...! Grin[sherlock]

Fakebook · 21/01/2015 21:05

But then why would Emma say "it wasn't there" to Max and say "you know"?
Has Max been supplying Lucy with drugs too? Did he know she kept them in her jewellery box?

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 21/01/2015 21:07

Tanya killed Lucy - why else are they bringing her back!

I hope Linda is believed. Dean is vile!

Now Linda was born in July 1977, making her 37 right now. How old was she when Lee was born. And why is Pretty Flamingo "their song" - neither Linda nor Mick were born when this was a hit and I don't think it had a renaissance in the late 80s/early 90s when they would have got together.

AGnu · 21/01/2015 21:08

Can anyone remember what time she's supposed to have died? Are they perhaps implying that she died in the morning rather than late at night? The suggestion that it had been an ice cream van can't be right - why would there have been an ice cream van out at that time? Hmm

CrapBag · 21/01/2015 21:08

I thought that waithorse. Maybe it's because there have been stories in the papers recently about Danny Dyer not staying at home so maybe it was deliberate to show that they are together? Although what that has to do with EE I don't know.

I liked yesterday's episode and how it was done. I voted for Kellie Bright tonight so was disappointed to see she didnt win.

The music box is quite interesting. If it was the last thing she heard does that mean she died at home or the killer somehow got it (because it had her drugs in?) Then they returned it over Christmas?

AGnu · 21/01/2015 21:11

Linda's maiden name was Peacock & it seems birds were a big feature of their décor - her mum made some comment about Linda having copied it. Maybe their song came about because of that? Or just because Linda looked attractive as a teenager wearing pink & standing on one leg?

Harrin · 21/01/2015 21:13

The flamingo song because Linda is obsessed with Flamingos? She has flamingo wallpaper in two rooms in the Vic I think and on a dress

CrapBag · 21/01/2015 21:15

I was born in the 80's and loved all the 70's stuff my dad used to listen to because that's what I used to hear. My kids love the type of music that I play and their favourite songs are mine because that's what gets turned up on the radio or downloaded onto my ipod. You don't need to be born at a certain time to like certain songs.

waithorse · 21/01/2015 21:18

I thought it might be because of recent stories, Crap. But as you say, why would EE care about rumours about him and his partner. Confused

Also very disappointed that Kellie Bright didn't win, I voted for her. Pleased for Maddy Hill, who I also voted for.

RhubarbAndMustard · 21/01/2015 21:24

Did anyone see Death in Paradise this week? Lucy B actress was in it as a suspect. Right at the summing up stage, the Inspector says to the murderer, 'you may not have pulled the trigger, but it's still murder' ...a bit like Emma's words.

Is the BBC giving us a mini clue? In this case the Dr did it. Where is Dr Leg these days??

buddhasbelly · 21/01/2015 22:18

if this is how many posts we generate over this evening (my mind going overdrive in speculation) I feel we should start taking bets as to how many posts we'll have on the big reveal night Grin

SpanishFly · 21/01/2015 22:26

Possibly Danny Dyer refused to go to the awards unless his partner was with him in an obvious way

Fakebook · 21/01/2015 22:56

I've just looked at the clip linked above and then the clip from Christmas Day when Cindy finds the music box wrapped up and the music is completely different.

I think the original jewellery box has been replaced with this one. The original one was used to kill her with. Jane did it. The original one is hidden under the floorboards along with the phone and purse. She knew where the floorboard was loose from, like she'd used it before.

Whoever wrapped it up knows. I think Max wrapped it to scare Jane as he knows she killed her.

buddhasbelly · 21/01/2015 23:18

What I find quite strange is that Emma said to the killer "it's still murder" which makes it seem like what the killer did wasn't as cold blooded and 'spiteful' as other murders.

Yet for the killer to actually wrap up the music box (now possible murder weapon) makes them seem very sinister indeed and makes Emma's comment of "it's still murder" not really fit with much of the possible-accidental murder theories that came from that comment (if that makes sense!)

buddhasbelly · 21/01/2015 23:19

*wrap up the music box to put under the beale's xmas tree I mean!

MissBattleaxe · 22/01/2015 00:47

I think whoever killed Lucy did it by accident, and it was her earlier head injury that compounded it. i.e the murderer just pushed her over or something but she died from it.

My money's on Abby or a Beale cover up.

AGnu · 22/01/2015 00:51

I wonder if someone wrapped the music box as an attempt at a thoughtful gift then kept quiet when Cindy freaked out about it.

AGnu · 22/01/2015 01:12

My money's still firmly on Max as the actual murderer but Bobby thinking he's responsible. Have we ever seen anyone else with a music box? I've spent ages finding the clip from tonight & it doesn't sound like the same tune as when Ian opened it in the clip I linked to above but it could be a different part of the song... I'm fairly familiar with Oklahoma songs though so I'd be surprised if I didn't recognise any part of that song, even if it was ridiculously slowed down! Maybe it was someone else's music box that she knocked over when she fell... Or possibly, as someone said earlier, it's a cot mobile... I wouldn't have thought Cindy was far enough along to have started to accumulate baby stuff though. Were there any other babies on the square about that time? Tommy obviously too old, the twins weren't born yet... There weren't any mobile-age babies, were there? Confused

Maybe a PP was right about Jane having seen Lauren from the Beales' window, rather than Masoods. Do we know how Lauren's not-visit fitted in with other events? Was Lucy definitely still alive at that point or could Jane have caught sight of Lauren while trying to cover up for Bobby? I really need a proper timeline of all the sightings!

I was supposed to be going to bed over an hour ago. Then I caught sight of this thread as I was about to shut down the computer... Stupid lack of self-control EE! Wink

cogitosum · 22/01/2015 10:53

I'm with pp that the jewellery box has been replaced. I think it was on the windowsill so could 'it wasn't there' be referring to the jewellery box? Was it the beale's

cogitosum · 22/01/2015 10:53

Was it the beale's house she was looking at?

If so think it's Jane.

differentnameforthis · 22/01/2015 11:13

They jewellery box was given to Cindy as it was her who broke the news of Lucy using drugs, thus kicking off the events that led to Lucy's death...was it sent to Beth as a reminder (to Cindy) that this is all Cindy's fault?

Fakebook · 22/01/2015 11:41

I think the clue points to the fact that the only suspects are now either a Beale or a Branning.

I don't know if I'm imagining this, but when Jane first came back, I'm sure Max said something to her along the lines of he'd help her with anything as they have a connection through Tanya. And then Jane has said a similar thing to Lauren that she's her mums best friend. I'm sure it's Jane and Max now! I'll probably change my mind in a few weeks again!
