Apparently there is something about the Deano rape story. He doesn't go to court /jail as ee didn't went to show that. Hope they don't have it as we know he did it but gets off and carries on life around the square tormenting linda

I've started watching Broadchurch series 1 (never watched it before) and I'm quite suprised at how many similarities there have been between the aftermath of Danny's murder and Lucy's. The drugs/deleting of messages and the computer files/blood and fingerprints in a place they didn't die. I know DTC wouldn't copy the storyline but there are some points that are very similar and seeing as he sold it to Adam Woodyat as "Broadchurch" I'm thinking if the murderer will have a similar relationship to Lucy as in Broadchurch? (Don't tell me who the murderer is I haven't watched it all yet!)

The thing is, if there isnt enough evidence, unfortunately that's the most realistic portrayal of rape offences

Dd told me she read it somewhere I don't think it is a sexual assault though might be because stacy gave a statement to the police.

What they are doing with Dean and Linda is exactly what happens in real life situations where a woman is raped by someone she knows.

There isn't any evidence to prosecute. Half of people side with the rapist saying things like, he's not like that/he wouldn't do that/she must have been asking for it with her short skirt and tight dress/she's lying as she regrets sleeping with him or was drunk/she wants revenge for him rejecting her after they slept together, and so on. Some people will believe the woman but will be helpless.

If EE made Dean go to prison then they'd be doing rape victims a disservice because people who haven't been through such a thing would think that's what happens in real life, and so the cases where there is no prosecution she must be lying.

This storyline will hopefully help a few people to understand.

We find out Shabnam's secret tonight. I still think she sold her baby but agree that her being a surrogate is more realistic, though you could say they're the same thing.

Just read an extract of an interview on Digital Spy with the EE boss who hints that there'll be no official justice for Linda but that the plot conclusion will be 'satisfying but shocking'. I'm calling it now - Dean confesses and commits suicide.
