Couldn't see a new Eastenders thread, so I thought I'd start one. Apologies if this is a duplication.

Great to hear Christian could be coming back.

The trailer for the live week looks so good! Loved ghostie Lucy up on the roof! I'm really looking forward to it

Honeybear30 · 26/01/2015 20:33

That trailer was so creepy!!

Honeybear30 · 26/01/2015 20:38

I may have missed this discussion because I've not been on in a while but Lauren wasn't in that trailer. So I guess it's not her? I assume she's too pregnant now anyway in RL, If the killer is going to be outed in a live episode they would find it hard to cover her bump.

waithorse · 26/01/2015 20:53

Shabnam reveals her secret to Stacy on Friday apparently.

VashtaNerada · 26/01/2015 21:00

Just watched it. Oh, Shabnam! ShockBlushGrin

RedCrayons · 26/01/2015 21:03

I thought the matching suits might have been significant, but Lauren is on mat leave, so can't do the live episodes or the follow up stuff afterwards.

Wink Happy birthday Shabnam! Kush is my new EE crush. Hope her secret is a good one, I was thinking a married man.

Southeastdweller · 26/01/2015 21:07

Trailer

Harrin · 26/01/2015 21:13

They arrived in a bus last year too Agnu

Fakebook · 26/01/2015 21:46

That trailer was scary! I'm wondering how EE will keep me amused once this is all over. I'm quite looking forward to the live episodes now.

Agree with pp How selfish can Stan get?

sliceofsoup · 26/01/2015 22:08

I think Shabnam has a child.

RedCrayons · 26/01/2015 22:13

Ooh I love that trailer, very spooky! Can't wait now.

Mrsjayy · 26/01/2015 22:19

Oo ghostie lucy and shabnam what would your mother say Grin we think shabnam was making bombs but she didn't know I reckon she had been working in a chemical plant

SpanishFly · 26/01/2015 23:32

blondes I think you've hit on something. Emma's penny dropping moment was just after Dean said "I just left him for 5 minutes" or something. So it possibly has triggered a memory of Jane saying the same. And she ran out and looked at the houses, possibly working out how quickly you could get from one to another?

AGnu · 26/01/2015 23:43

Blondes No, I meant when he went missing just before Jane moved him back down & he was found in the spot where Lucy died.

Yes, that was my point re: the 5 minutes thing. I've not cross-referenced with the episode where Bobby's missing to see if Jane actually said it, it's just what someone on EE's Facebook said. I'm thinking hearing Deano say it reminded her of when Jane said it if she said it at all & if Emma was in the room & that's when the puzzle pieces slotted into place.

Does anyone remember, I know Jane was staying with Masood at the time of Lucy's murder but was Bobby there too? I seem to remember him staying there at some point, possibly after the murder when everyone was falling apart.
Emma looked at the B&B, Ian's & Masood's, right? I bet it was a "there are the people who made me realise, there are the 2 houses involved" moment. And I bet Jane did see Lauren, but saw her from Lucy's bedroom window!

AGnu · 26/01/2015 23:49

Oh, & I do not like that trailer. I was about to go to bed. I'm a little freaked out now! Blush

Mrsjayy · 26/01/2015 23:54

Scary innit !!

AGnu · 27/01/2015 00:20

Stan's storyline has got me wondering about what Shabnam did to deserve all that money. Maybe she helped her grandmother die - that would be a shameful thing to do for a Muslim, wouldn't it? Some comment was made about it being a life or death secret. Either that or her grandmother knew her secret & gave her the money to help her out. My wildest speculation is that she met a non-Muslim, fell in love & had his baby. Things went south from there & she was forced to flee without her baby because the family were threatening to kill her. Once she'd escaped she went to her grandmother who took care of her & taught her to be a better Muslim. She didn't tell anyone else in her family for fear of shaming them. Except now she's fallen for another non-Muslim & is scared she's making all the same mistakes... But this one's a good guy with non-murdery family... If only she can let her guard down for longer than it takes to have sex & let him love her!

Hands up who thinks she's going to shout at Kush tomorrow & somehow her pouncing on him will be entirely his fault?! Grin

DieselSpillages · 27/01/2015 06:54

I do Hope Shabnam the chemist was not involved in any bomb making/ terrorist stuff. It would be beyond crap if the only Muslim family were portrayed in this way.
I think perhaps she's left an abusive arranged marriage and child in Pakistan and her Grandmother helped her escape.

SoupDragon · 27/01/2015 07:18

I don't think Stan is selfish, I think he is a scared old man.

Mrsjayy · 27/01/2015 07:40

Diesel it would be horrible if it was a terrorist story I was straw clutching its more than likely a married man and its go away money iyswim

Honeybear30 · 27/01/2015 08:32

I don't think it will be a terrorist story, that's not very bbc is it?! I honestly don't think they are brave enough to tackle something like that.

MagpieCursedTea · 27/01/2015 08:44

I was thinking that Shabnam had been in a relationship, got pregnant and had an abortion.

Mrsjayy · 27/01/2015 08:48

But having a baby or an abortion doesn't explain her money

SoupDragon · 27/01/2015 09:38

Surrogacy?

She said she took up running in India to lose weight.

AGnu · 27/01/2015 11:36

Yes, she certainly wasn't overweight the first time the character was in the show... Baby-weight would make sense. I'm liking the married man/hush money idea. Maybe she got pregnant with his baby, his wife can't have children so they pretended her baby was theirs. Being rich, Shabnam thought they could provide a better lifestyle than a penniless, shunned single mother. Not sure how that would be a life or death situation though, unless she was threatened to stay away.
