Just checking in. Not come down with my friend's lurgy as yet. Don't they reckon on about three days for most bugs to manifest themselves? Or have I made that up?

Richtea lots of hugs for you. How rotten. I think pixie and Rhubarb have expressed our collective thoughts most eloquently. It is escapism for us all and at the end of the day, not only are we completely unknown to one another but CJ is a totally fictional character so it is all harmless in my opinion. Hang in there. xx

I played the first link last night that Icemist had sent us of the latest Reign. It took ages to fire up and I had forgotten about it as I had then gone on to read the ff updates when it suddenly sprang into life. I took a wild guess and moved it on a bit and by chance came across BA speaking. He sounded just like CJ and it made me smile but the programme is, to quote Molly Dawes, "a bit sh*t". Surely he must realise there are better things out there for him. Still, I suppose he has to pay the mortgage and the bills somehow but his agents need a boot up the backside if that's the best they can do!

Back later. Good luck with the children's parties!

Ilovelblue · 25/01/2015 10:42

Sorry, just remembered about RL Chris. If that young girl has any sense, she'll leg it quick. As a first date, that would not impress me in the slightest (no disrespect to you and your friends *onlygirl) and if he'd hit the booze, I would scarper. Interesting to see if there is a second date!

Nickel45 · 25/01/2015 10:51

Ditto rhubarb and pixie.

Rhubarb01 · 25/01/2015 10:52

I am way behind the rest of you on this but I finally managed to get Icemist's first Reign clip on youtube to play this morning. For some reason it would never play before. So I have finally seen the first appearance of BA in Reign. It doesn't look like quality drama that's for sure. I don't really like lots of modern speak in period drama and who knows if its based on much historical fact. (I can see myself googling King Antoine of Navarre and finding out that wikipedia says its a character played by BA). I assume its just a role to get himself out there and known across the pond and makes it easier to get auditions for other better stuff. All actors have done roles that are a bit embarrassing - although that can't be the worst after all he is a King! I saw Colin Firth on Jonathan Ross last night and they showed a clip of him being a very young PC in Crown Court - well he did OK for himself didn't he!

One small aside when you refer to QF does the Q stand for quick or quality? Irrelevant but lends a different meaning to some of the comments.

Rhubarb01 · 25/01/2015 11:03

Well knock me down with a feather albeit an ostrich feather. King Antoine of Navarre was actually a real person! Also known as Antoine de Bourbon or in Spanish Antonio De Borbon (1518-1562). See there is educational content to this as well! I think I rather prefer the Antonio De Borbon but I can see why they thought the former was a little more attractive. If Damian Lewis is a sausage we could well end up thinking of someone else as a biscuit and that would be a very bad result.

pixieg1rl · 25/01/2015 11:06

In this context Q stands for quick.

icemistOBE · 25/01/2015 11:07

oh he was real, his son went on to be king of France...

Rhubarb01 · 25/01/2015 11:09

Jolly good! Thanks pixie set my mind at rest. I suppose I'd better go off and do something useful like cook everyone some dinner. They seem to appreciate small gestures like that.

icemistOBE · 25/01/2015 12:26

Asda shop done, just waiting for taxi and load of firemen arrived.... One or two not too bad Grin

OP posts:
Nickel45 · 25/01/2015 13:16

It's nice when there's a bonus to shopping icemist :) our sainsbury hasn't mastered that yet!!

I've just dropped DS at a party, sent DH and DD out, and have one hour to make a birthday cake, before they all arrived back again. No pressure then!! And I thought Sunday was supposed to be a day of rest?!

icemistOBE · 25/01/2015 13:34

I had to bring 5yo to toilet there were a few of the younger asda ladies checking them out...

OP posts:
Ilovelblue · 25/01/2015 13:49

Bet it wasn't just the younger Asda ladies checking out your firemen!!

Feel very virtuous as have done a 6 mile bike ride this morning. Haven't been out on my bike since Christmas as it's either been too wet, too windy or too icy and I am definitely a fair weather cyclist. I've been walking instead but cycling uses different muscles and I am whacked! Came home and made loads of meals for the freezer. The house does smell very nice I have to say (lots of garlic) but the kitchen is now like a bomb site. If CJ is hiring himself out to do our housework when he is "resting", I wonder if that would stretch to washing up too!? I'd pay good money, honestly I would.

Ilovelblue · 25/01/2015 14:13

A new ff author has appeared. Plenty of smut in the first two chapters. Enjoy ladies!

Nickel45 · 25/01/2015 14:15

I would too ilove, he wouldn't have to film in Canada again!! I'm just listening to madness while I'm baking and cleaning the kitchen, trying very hard to ignore the fact that BA wasn't even born when I was first dancing to them!!

orphan · 25/01/2015 14:16

Oh dear late to the thread today and really upset for richtea. You've all said what I would have said: that this is completely harmless, silliness.

richtea virtual hugs and Lots of love winging their way to you. Hope your dh can understand how innocent this all is and what lovely friends we've all made. Xx

Nickel45 · 25/01/2015 14:16

icemist forgot to ask but who was blindfolded in reign?

icemistOBE · 25/01/2015 14:21

Some good QS in that last ff, and a new zombie chapter .... But have to go but a new car seat (what fun!) so have to save it later, bother this RL malarkey!

icemistOBE · 25/01/2015 14:49

does this work?

OP posts:
apsara03 · 25/01/2015 15:36

Lovely icemist now I really should get a mov, put some bl**y effort in a different take the kids swimming rather than ready smutty fanfic and lusting overappreciating your photo selection

apsara03 · 25/01/2015 15:36

Predictive text gone mad. Sorry

orphan · 25/01/2015 16:29

Thanks icemist I've just had a lovely few minutes looking at your pics! I love the 'stags only' one and the black and white one of him looking up. I like the way you titled it a few of your favourites. How many do you have??!Grin

Ilovelblue · 25/01/2015 17:31

icemist as our IT Director, you have definitely gone above and beyond there. Those pictures send me into a dreamworld! As orphan says, how many pictures do you have?

Felt quite disturbed this afternoon thinking of Richtea so if you are reading this, I hope your day has improved and that you feel you can come back to us soon.

paintedcherry I laughed with delight when I started to read your new story. Do you live around the Stonyhurst area or did you research it? I am about 5 miles from Royal Preston Hospital and have been to Hurst Green and Stonyhurst on numerous occasions! Very much looking forward to how it develops!

orphan · 25/01/2015 17:56

Another fantastic chapter by spo. He's so clever at weaving in references to our loony ideas. I couldn't stop laughing at the tattoos:Morley and the very detailed 'anchor'!!

I've felt like you ilove about richtea. I do hope that nothing I've posted on here has helped to upset her husband. I know I've been very silly and tongue in cheek in some of my comments to richtea and I just hope he's now understood what this thread is:us having harmless fun. richtea I so hope you can come back to us. X

cherin · 25/01/2015 18:20

Yes, definitely our banter here needs some richtea to spice it up!
Funny how mans jokes and chats at the pub are often ever more frivolous and superficial than ours ("sofisticated", with an F), why would anyone then finding it offensive? It is, really, just a series of jokes. Ok, about a lusty fictional character, but we have already determined that its CJ and not really BA that moved us, so it'd be like becoming jealous of mr Darcy or prince Andrej
(And with that, TG grins from ear to ear. Like it, mr G? Being in the same sentence as the greatest? Hihihihihi. I may add "all things considered")

After 2.5h on a freezing football pitch I spent another hour+ this afternoon waking with a friend up and down hills. That maybe half of the pizza I made for lunch "burned"...but hey, it's something.

With regard to the marriage ended with sex surprise...a friend of mine has a sister that was going through a tough divorce, with an unfaithful husband, when...she suddenly discovered a fellow teacher in her school, a NUN, was her soulmate. You can imagine the shock. But after years, they are still together and in love and her kids love the new "mum" and it seems she's the best thing that could have happened to her. So, possibly almodovar just doesn't have a very fertile imagination, maybe he just has lots of friends and picks up the most unusual stories ;-)
