The workload is manageable and I was working right up to babymouses due date. My tutors are very understanding and prepared to make allowances wrt to deadlines and juggling units.

I am worried now I will balance college and family (dc)
And the cost...adding to our debt now is not the best idea :(

bads, seriously, I wouldnt go into nursing. I am all for access courses and new careers, but I think nursing these days is pretty much just terrible. Sad but true. I know a few nurses and they hate it, say it isnt what it used to be, is getting worse...

Anyway thats my (2nd hand) experience. Have you talked to a few nurses, got an idea about what their jobs are like?

Yes.
I have a family member who trained at about my age.
It's a good point about the NHS though and working there ATM isn't much fun I imagine.
I also did care work when I finished my a levels, so have some experience in the care field.
I know my family member isn't happy ATM but that's because she wants a hospital role, and ATM is a practise nurse which she hates.

On a running track near dd club. Have wussed out already though. I also have a thing tmw I would rather not be stiff for. Decided to stay here and make a curry instead - because I can have one

There are a couple of access courses out there. From my course a few people have gone into social work, psychology and social policy. I intend to use mine for speech therapy or psychology.

I think there's a history one, English technology and engineering and a pre med one.
