Ooh and yes, possibility of him hanging his hand out of the car à la my not so secret fantasy mentioned eons ago - remember gorgeous wrist/ rear ending etc?!!

Richtea19 · 14/01/2015 17:02

orphan I saw that photo a while back. Bit of knee grabbing, oops I thought that was the gear stick!!!!

Richtea19 · 14/01/2015 17:04

Ahh I had forgotton all about the rear ending ;)

Onlygirljen · 14/01/2015 17:04

Couldn't handle that orphan, the temptation to slide the drivers seat back and get well acquainted with the ledge would finish me off Grin.

I passed with one of those intensive courses too - the kinship is just as undeniable as the difference..

Speighty33 · 14/01/2015 17:05

Thanks Nickel - excellent read :)

orphan · 14/01/2015 17:15

Yes, onlygirl in an emergency stop manoeuvre, you never know where the jolt might end you up...Grin

Nickel45 · 14/01/2015 17:20

Oh girls, you are so fab, kept me going through a particularly crappy day at work. Can't wait to read the ff but now have to run a bunch of cubs round the compound. Think there might be a lot of shouting (on my part!) today, make me feel better!!

Will find that other pic of black furry coat thing when I get home.

moojangles · 14/01/2015 17:22

This thread is definitely therapy... but I can warn against skim reading, the whole rug, shelf, Rula Lenska thing got very confusing!!!

orphan · 14/01/2015 17:28

We could really mess up a game of word association: fur, Rula Lenska, rug, shelf ...

pixieg1rl · 14/01/2015 17:28

Just think what you might accidentally grab when demonstrating a hand brake turn....

orphan · 14/01/2015 17:30

Actually, I'm sure we've got a DVD called Man on a Ledge. I think it's a thriller, not as far as I'm aware gay porn!Blush

Onlygirljen · 14/01/2015 17:40

pixie just read your latest - brilliant as usual! Don't say it's the end! Do you have anything else planned? I really do love your stuff.

Oneforthegirls · 14/01/2015 17:47

Lovely chapter Pixie

apsara03 · 14/01/2015 17:51

Sorry for the lack of posts -RL ridiculously busy with new job and builders just started on loft conversion. You are hilarious as ever ladies and definitely therapy in all the madness

WHAJEB1 · 14/01/2015 18:01

cjwoofwoof orphan how are you going to get into position or have I missed that? In my head I'm obviously envisaging an almost buddy getting the star on the Christmas tree in elf manoeuvre??

pixie you really can't leave it there x

pixieg1rl · 14/01/2015 18:05

I'm afraid it's the end for that one. I only ever intended to do that day. I must admit to falling out of love with it about halfway through, and I think the last chapter suffered a bit as a consequence.

I have a few ideas, and I'm working on something but it's quite different and I'm a bit out of my comfort zone. I'm also feeling a bit inadequate compared to some of you other ff writers.

cjwoofwoof · 14/01/2015 18:12

WHAJ you missed the baby gorilla pincer movement mentioned earlier today then? I've since decided to adapt that to the Toddler Cling round the knees as the cape is long enough to still keep me incognito, thus allowing full concentration on the movement of the pelvic area. Quite a tricky manoevre whilst filming contines for 8 hours but I'm fully prepared with a honed groin-grip and extremely strong wrists Grin

Richtea19 · 14/01/2015 18:25

Brilliant chapter pixie, please don't say its the end!!

orphan · 14/01/2015 18:25

whaj I'm intending to take a running jump and when I dismount i might throw in a somsault.

Off to read pixie's.

orphan · 14/01/2015 18:43

Great chapter pixie! Absolutely no need to feel inadequate. I'm enjoying all the ff from the amazing writers on this thread. All so different, but all brilliant and keeping CJ alive for us. I look forward to whatever you're working on next.

Onlygirljen · 14/01/2015 19:01

pixie I sympathise, have been there myself. I didn't grasp until doing it, just how much nerve it takes to put your writing out there for people to comment on. I have felt on many occasions when reading other stuff that I should just pack it in because others express things so much better than I ever could (and I include your fics in that!). It's one of the reasons that I packed up writing involved when I did. I think it's just an unfortunate side effect of the creative side of things, that you always think somebody else is doing a better job than you.

Anyway, I shall stop rambling, but please rest assured that you have absolutely no reason to feel inadequate. I look forward to reading what you're working on.Smile

Rhubarb01 · 14/01/2015 19:38

pixie Onlygirl I don't think anyone who writes ever sits there admiring their own work and thinking its great. To be honest, just staring at it over and over can drive you nuts. Also, I think everyone no matter how successful they have been gets fed up with their story at some point. (I read a good article by Sophie Kinsella about how to write and she said that she get's sick to death of her stories about half way through and is doubtful about them etc but says you've got get to end and get the story on paper).

Everyone is naturally self-critical and knows the bits that they liked and found easy and the bits they struggled with and wish they had done better. Secondly, I think writing FF is a bit different than writing standard fiction because you are writing about the same thing as everyone else and all trying to find a slightly different angle to talk about the same characters or a different way of expressing things and you are bound to compare what you do with others in a way that you might not do as much if you were reading lots of different original story ideas. The other thing about FF is that its writing a story under a bit of pressure. You want to produce something quickly for people because they are enjoying it and encouraging you and its all lovely and well meant and really appreciated - in fact slightly addictive - but that means that you do by necessity produce something much quicker than if you were beavering away for several months doing your own thing.

I've probably said enough now and should shut up - I suppose that's what I've learned from it anyway. I think I'm just trying to say have faith in yourself and if you enjoy writing it keep going.

elsie3g · 14/01/2015 19:41

Hi all, yep agree with the comments already, more FF please! The MN writers are sooooo good. I wouldn't dare put anything out there for public scrutiny, but you guys should be proud of what you've done Smile.

I'm not reading anything else at the mo despite the fact have two books ready to read, but I just can't seem to get into them.

icemistOBE · 14/01/2015 19:57

Crikey 4 pages to read!!

Pictures were on Twitter- been released by TV channel. Will have a look later for more.

Have had me in stitches with talk of gorillas and ledges. They should have taken a photo without the coat we are only interested in the leather trousers Grin
And more ff to catch up on too.
Rubbish on TV so gonna watch OG yay!!!

I'm very proud of myself - in the last couple of days I've actually managed to read and finish a novel and have started a new one!! This is only because I was starting to worry that I'd lost the ability to pick up and read a book. I have to say though neither were/are as enjoyable as reading this thread or the ff.
