Gobby is fab with difficult patients.

Amazed at the number of patients - that's a year's worth in that waiting room.

cinnamon- I know- I am very excited. We've been discussing it for about 2 years, and done a fair bit of research. We're getting a mini schnauzer, and go to see him on Sunday. I've not had a dog since I was a child, so am a bit nervous- but my sister has 2, and has lots of good advice.

I am not going to venture into 'the Doghouse' for now- for fear I will be shouted at for getting a puppy and not a rescue staffie. (A friend of ours does have a rescue staffie, who is absolutely lovely, but came with a lot of issues I didn't feel I could deal with, with 3 children!). In fact, we looked at rescues for quite a while, but a lot wouldn't home to a family with young children.

I'm hoping he will be a Doctors fan

I had a nightmare when we got our second dog Raahh, we lost my girl in may 2013 and got another greyhound from the rgt in July and they were happy with my kids and my mindees. He unfortunately had separation anxiety so we decided to get a second dog but wanted a Lurcher rather than a grey as my kids really wanted to have a dog they could play with and they're generally not very playful. Most rescues were fine as my kids were dog savvy but as soon as I mentioned minding they said no or every dog they had had something that meant it wasn't suitable. We also have cats so that limits the number of suitable dogs too!
The trouble with rescues is they get so many dogs returned they try to find possible problems before rehoming. I personally wouldn't never have a puppy, waaaaaay too much work imo but am happy to cope with issues a rescue would have. I think you'll find some lovely people on the doghouse and when we got our second dog there was a puppy owner thread that you could join for support.

cinnamon- I love greyhounds. My best mate rescued one after her previous dog died. She was a bit barmy at first (the dog, my best mate has always been nuts)but she really settled in well. Very happy for my youngest to play with her for hours.

I will look into the puppy thread, and venture in when I feel brave.
