This was a charming little story - beautifully acted by Dustin Hoffman and Judi Dench. Just the ticket for New Years evening.

Loved the narration - made the story longer. I was struggling to see how they would make it 90mins as it's quite a short story. I don't usually like James Corden but he was perfect imho.

I loved it. Dh was even laughing and I really didn't think it would be his type of thing. Loved James Corden (sp?) telling it.

It was really good. We read Esio Trot about a month ago and for once a TV adaptation took a story and rounded it out beautifully. Dustin Hoffman was fantastic.

Loved it too, didn't have great expectations either. Dustin Hoffman is always fab though and its unlikely Judi would be in anything naff.

Shame there hasn't been more like this on over the holiday.

It was adorable, I absolutely loved it. Perfectly cast, I agree that James Corden was good even though I usually can't stand him.

Dustin Hoffman and Judi Dench were just gorgeous.

It was visually lovely too, all colour and humour.

Perfect New Year's Day viewing, BBC take note this is just the sort of thing we want!

Totally amazing , me DS 15 and DD13 just sat and cried! No one spoke except to roundly slag off Mr Pringle. I think apart from xmas dinner and Dr who it's the I only time we've all been in same room. Wonderful tv.
