Have been thinking about Mel and the missing ring thing. If you've been in hospital for most of the last 48 hrs it is entirely reasonable not to have your £20K ring on. I've not got my considerably less expensive rings on right now cos I was doing some baking this morning and haven't got round to putting them back on yet - I imagine Mel's day has been busier and more fraught than mine. I wish her well - she certainly seemed uncomfortable tonight. It's also very clear looking back on the re-hashed content on ITV2 tonight that her left eye has always been a problem for her.

I thought the judges didn't even believe in what they were saying, themselves, as they gushed about Fleur. They were so over the top about her, 'a star is born' type of thing. It didn't ring true, at all, to me.
I was delighted Ben won, anyway.

Andrea only got 8%? Poor Pugsy!

I watched the final today and it was ridiculous how Fleur was getting all the huge productions and Ben just stood there with some words floating behind him.

And do you remember when an X-factor final used to be a huge thing with massive popstars performing? They have Demi Lovato and Ella Henderson these days.

I don't really get why HeyHo was so high in the ratings every week. His voice is pretty mediocre, and ultimately that's the prize- I heard the single on the radio. it could have been anyone- it had so much backing and overdubs, it could have been the Wandies it sounded so generic. Confused

Pugsy had 22% when they froze the vote to eliminate him, which isn't so bad. The subsequent votes took him down to 8%. Looking at the figures, it looks like Ben got all the votes that would have gone to Pugsy after that point. Fleur ended up with roughly 1/3 of the overall vote and was at 1/3 when they froze it.
