...before the previous thread here rolls off a cliff.

Someone wanted a character list. I have, with a bit of help from Wiki, come up with:
The Mighty Carrie
Quinn aka Woopert. Most of us definitely would, despite the resemblance to a ferret.
Lockhart - once hated, now we have some grudging respect.
Saul - all that is right and good in the world, with a passing resemblance to Life of Brian man who hasn't spoken in years.
Dar Adul aka Salieri - what's happened to him?
Fara - once an IT fraud geek, now an intrepid hands-on agent who doesn't keep enough of an eye on her bin bags.
Martha, the nice ambassador
Denis, her nefarious husband
John, second in command at CIA Lahore HQ, we're warming to him
Aayan aka Pi, now sailing the heavenly oceans with a tiger
Sandy, former CIA chief, now pushing up the daisies
Aasar Khan, aka Raza, aka Hot Spooks Guy
Bunran Latif, the General, aka Art Malik
Haqqani, the craggy Taliban leader who prefers to shag next to a bearded man chained to a radiator
Tasleen, aka one of the Kardashians.

Have I missed anyone?

I am totally hooked on this. I think the acting is brilliant.

How many episodes left?

Surely Quinn and Carrie staying behind is completely implausible. They are just sitting ducks for ransom etc aren't they?

Also sending all the marines to the explosions can't be real practice, surely a distraction is the oldest trick in the book. There would have to be a skeleton force large enough to protect the building surely?

soz, I know it's telly but still......

No mention of Carrie's daughter lately, not even a look at a photograph.

I love Quinn, how long before he and Carrie starting eating each other's faces all grunty in the woods?

werenotreallyhere · 17/12/2014 09:47

I love Virgil because of Due South as well Grin

TheDietStartsTomorrow · 17/12/2014 14:57

I left it til today to watch this but now it seems petty and stupid to mourn these fake deaths when children have lost their lives for real in a massacre with too many similarities.

One thing that resonates with both the fiction of Homeland and the horror that is real life is the words of Lokhart when he said when will this fucking end?

RIP Pakistani children.

ovenchips · 17/12/2014 16:11

cocolepew Your description of the Due South actor as being a cross between John Barrowman and Quinn made me actually laugh out loud when I googled a picture of him!

It is honestly the best lookie-likey description I've read. So good!

oneowlgirl · 17/12/2014 21:26

Completely agree Diet.

Howaboutthisone · 18/12/2014 15:05

I totally agree with the scarily close to the mark side to this at the moment.

EachandEveryone · 18/12/2014 17:24

I couldn't stop comparing either. Makes u wonder how realistic shows like this and 24 etc are.

oneowlgirl · 18/12/2014 18:52

I know Each & happily live in the little bubble of them being complete fiction, however Homeland really does seem close to reality with what's appearing in the news & that's just sad & very scary.

Rollergirl1 · 19/12/2014 14:50

I came on to make all you ladies insanely jealous. I just saw Zaf getting off the tube at Oxford Circus. I didn't really see the appeal before but I can report that he is heartstoppingly handsome. I tried to follow him just so I could continue to gaze at him but he strided off, all lithe- legged and purposeful.

TheSpottedZebra · 19/12/2014 16:24

Shock Xmas Envy

Cocolepew · 19/12/2014 17:36

Thanks Ovenchips, Grin

Really Rollergirl, after all these weeks and you couldn't follow him, set up a watch from the house opposite his and take pictures for us? Tsk.

Howaboutthisone · 19/12/2014 19:07

I'm so jealous rollergirl!

Rollergirl1 · 19/12/2014 20:23

Yeah sorry, I feel like I've let the side down. But he was extremely speedy and it was very busy and my little legs just couldn't keep up. He looked very dashing as he disappeared off in to Soho.

HalleLouja · 20/12/2014 17:13

Roller ohmygod . I did see him in a musical many many moons ago. Not quite the same as close up in the flesh. I bet he smelt gorgeous.

werenotreallyhere · 20/12/2014 19:55

Very jealous!

OneSkinnyChip · 20/12/2014 22:20

You saw Raf Roller? Shock Envy

How many episodes are left does anyone know?

Howaboutthisone · 21/12/2014 07:36

Two left I think. Tonight's and one more!

Lagoonablue · 21/12/2014 07:40

Cannot wait for tonight. Though think it won't end well for Peter. I will be gutted if dies. Gutted I tell you. I want to see him single handedly bring down the Taliban. I think he's going to try to too.

HalleLouja · 21/12/2014 07:57

Is it double episode tonight? Am too afraid to google.

Hassled · 21/12/2014 08:26

The Guardian TV guide says tonight's the penultimate, and it's not a double bill. I'm already tense.

DS1 and DIL arrive tonight - look out for the imminent thread "AIBU to think this is really rude? MIL barely acknowledged me when we arrived for Christmas and wouldn't look up from the sofa because she's obsessed with a TV programme." I'm going to have to delay watching it, aren't I?

When is the last episode airing in the US? I want to avoid any repeat of Trollgate last year Sad

oneowlgirl · 21/12/2014 10:24

Haha Hassled - if we see that thread then we'll tell her she's very unreasonable Grin

What was troll gate??

TheSpottedZebra · 21/12/2014 10:35

Hassled, maybe they watch it too and are sitting at home kicking themselves that they said they'd get to you tonight, not tomorrow...?

ihatethecold · 21/12/2014 10:48

Last one has already aired in the US.
It comes up on my fb news feed.

TensionWheelsCoolHeels · 21/12/2014 11:14

Troll gate - someone came on before the last episode aired in the UK & gave away the ending of the last series. It pissed off lots of us who had managed to avoid spoilers while posting on the thread.
