...before the previous thread here rolls off a cliff.

Someone wanted a character list. I have, with a bit of help from Wiki, come up with:
The Mighty Carrie
Quinn aka Woopert. Most of us definitely would, despite the resemblance to a ferret.
Lockhart - once hated, now we have some grudging respect.
Saul - all that is right and good in the world, with a passing resemblance to Life of Brian man who hasn't spoken in years.
Dar Adul aka Salieri - what's happened to him?
Fara - once an IT fraud geek, now an intrepid hands-on agent who doesn't keep enough of an eye on her bin bags.
Martha, the nice ambassador
Denis, her nefarious husband
John, second in command at CIA Lahore HQ, we're warming to him
Aayan aka Pi, now sailing the heavenly oceans with a tiger
Sandy, former CIA chief, now pushing up the daisies
Aasar Khan, aka Raza, aka Hot Spooks Guy
Bunran Latif, the General, aka Art Malik
Haqqani, the craggy Taliban leader who prefers to shag next to a bearded man chained to a radiator
Tasleen, aka one of the Kardashians.

Have I missed anyone?

Ooh zebra!! Plot twist!

MamOfTwo · 14/12/2014 22:08

Think I have been holding my breath for the last hour! RIP John and Fara and the other dudes. So is that two episodes left, then? Finally, I luffs Quinn - I have confidence he'll sort it all out.

Cocolepew · 14/12/2014 22:10

Ha I thought that about dying her hair too.
I was thinking Quinn should dress less conspicuous. Maybe borrow Sauls beard.

AND….. I'm suspicious of Saul again. He wasn't very forthcoming when Quinn was questioning him.

Hassled · 14/12/2014 22:12

Blimey - that first half hour was unbearable. Where would they be without Quinn and his trusty Private? Poor Fara and poor Max/Chandler.

OneSkinnyChap - yes, another season has been commissioned. Quite how they'll beat this season, I don't know.

What's Quinn going to do now he's realised they all have the same mobiles? I can't see where that's taking him.

Not sure where the phone story line is going either.

More importantly is Zaf going to help Carrie.

Blu · 14/12/2014 22:36

So did she throw Dennis' belt out of reach, OR was the whe thing a big head-fuck on his part? To show her that she would actually assist in the death of her kids' dad if it helped protect her career? And he never was going to kill himself? Or did he just chicken out?

Hassled · 14/12/2014 22:40

Blu - I don't think she threw it out of reach - I think she thought he'd done it the following morning. He's just a cowardly bastard.

Hashtag1 · 14/12/2014 22:42

Is that the last episode this season? Please tell me it's not.

CoolCadbury · 14/12/2014 22:43

I was disappointed in Zaf, weren't you? He should have just ignored Tasneem. A bit weak I thought.

And Denis. I think he might have tried to kill himself with her belt because she would get the blame (and doubt) but because it was his belt he would be just seen as weak. Hey, guess what, you are a weak pathetic bastard.

RudeBarbandCustard · 14/12/2014 22:44

Wow what an episode. Bit depressing all round really.

I think Denis just chickened out, proving what a total wimpy whiny wet lettuce he is. Martha does a good 'look of contempt'

Oh Quinn, I worry for him.

Will Mr Gorgeous Zaf grow some balls and help Carrie out..?

NeedaDiscoNap · 14/12/2014 22:45

There's at least two more episodes I think hashtag. What an episode that was! I was on the edge of my seat for the first half. Loved Quinn getting to see some action again.

I am a little suspicious of Saul now (much as it really, really pains me to say it) and wonder if the phone thing is some kind of hint. But I'm hoping not as I love Saul from the crying bottom of my heart.

Can't wait for next week!

NeedaDiscoNap · 14/12/2014 22:46

The crying bottom?! The very bottom!

NeedaDiscoNap · 14/12/2014 22:47

I hope Carrie is going to do some serious damage to Tasneem. Surely it's got to be coming?

OttiliaVonBCup · 14/12/2014 22:48

Tasneen is such a snake.

Roonerspism · 14/12/2014 23:06

I'm here! Even more stressful than last week's. had to stick it on live pause to desk with baby poo-nami :)

I found it a bit depressing which I have never found before. Quinn did save the day but a bit too late. And I liked Fara! Very disappointed in Zaf.

I think I might need Valium for next week's...

Travelledtheworld · 14/12/2014 23:07

Phew, couldn't sit still to watch that episode and had to pace around the room.

Roonerspism · 14/12/2014 23:08

And noooooo - I have never been suspicious of Saul. Still am not!!!!

Travelledtheworld · 14/12/2014 23:08

Bit annoyed that Carrie didn't get her head wound checked and cleaned up for a long time.......

Fiderer · 15/12/2014 07:17

Shock at Lockhart - compared to Martha's measured reaction, wtf was he doing? I mentioned before about him being a political appointee not CIA but surely asset protecting is key? Shock also at him pushing the ambassador.

Was surprised that Haqqani didn't kill him and the others, was it because that was when Quinn started shooting? Really thought the fresh-faced soldier with Q would be a goner. Should have picked up guns from the men they killed.

Shame John did die, have a feeling he would have gone with Quinn at the end, they'd have made a great team.

Saul - those bruises in the shower and that scene with Quinn.

Carrie - wtf about the president wanting her out as though it were her failure. She was the one who figured out what Bachmann was up to and found out about weasel Dennis.

Zaf, sorry Khan, why did he obey evilsmug Tasneem, he's a colonel, is she his superior?

Need a gin strong pot of tea after all that.

GypsyFloss · 15/12/2014 07:31

Saul has always been hiding a secret in my opinion. I'm not convinced that he's not an asset of someone. I don't know whether he was supposed to shown as just broken by it all last night but he was a bit useless in helping them. And I want to know why?

Martha's look was so contemptuous.

Khan is such an ineffectual man. Carrie has met her match in Nas though.

Listening to the news this morning where they are reporting on a building being taken over in Australia and a black ? Islamic militant flag being flown, it makes this story arc a little close to reality!

CoolCadbury · 15/12/2014 07:57

gypsyfloss Saul IS broken, completely broken. He's been held in captivity, beaten, used for a prisoner exchange he clearly didn't want to be a part of (he would rather have died than be part of that) and been attacked in a convoy. Shock. That's a lot for anyone to get through.

Did anyone else think for a minute there that Carrie was going to shoot and kill the sniper? Grin I thought it was a bit daft the marine asking them to do that.

GypsyFloss · 15/12/2014 08:14

But Saul has got something he has kept hidden all this time. He could have shot himself when he was threatening to and then later when he finally got ambushed. But he didn't . I want to know what that secret is! Grin

rallytog1 · 15/12/2014 08:20

Think I've worked out the phone story - the dead terrorist had the same phone as the ISI agent. So if they're standard-issue phones for ISI agents, it means that some of the 'terrorists' who stormed the embassy were in fact ISI. Which would make the Pakistani government even more complicit in the whole thing.

WhyYouGottaBeSoRude · 15/12/2014 09:32

Was surprised that Haqqani didn't kill him and the others,

I am starting to think lockhart is working with haqqani. He was determined to get that list to him to the extent of pushing martha back. He was asking that guy lots of info about the list like is there a back up etc. and then there was a look between him and haqqani when he did come out of the vault. Haqqani could have just killed them all while the door was open and still gotten the list. I mean the director of the CIA and the US ambassador were right there infront of him. The highest value targets he could ask for. Why would he NOT kill them? Unless he had made a deal with someone?

GypsyFloss · 15/12/2014 09:35

Oh that's rather a good thought!
