Someone wanted a character list. I have, with a bit of help from Wiki, come up with:
The Mighty Carrie
Quinn aka Woopert. Most of us definitely would, despite the resemblance to a ferret.
Lockhart - once hated, now we have some grudging respect.
Saul - all that is right and good in the world, with a passing resemblance to Life of Brian man who hasn't spoken in years.
Dar Adul aka Salieri - what's happened to him?
Fara - once an IT fraud geek, now an intrepid hands-on agent who doesn't keep enough of an eye on her bin bags.
Martha, the nice ambassador
Denis, her nefarious husband
John, second in command at CIA Lahore HQ, we're warming to him
Aayan aka Pi, now sailing the heavenly oceans with a tiger
Sandy, former CIA chief, now pushing up the daisies
Aasar Khan, aka Raza, aka Hot Spooks Guy
Bunran Latif, the General, aka Art Malik
Haqqani, the craggy Taliban leader who prefers to shag next to a bearded man chained to a radiator
Tasleen, aka one of the Kardashians.

Have I missed anyone?

By the way, be careful with the link posted earlier to the blog with the spy expert giving their opinion on the series. It's really, really good - but it's written in the US, they're one episode ahead of us, and the website has a screenshot of each ep.

I didn't read it, but the pic flashed up...Suffice to say, I now know at least a few of the people who survive into next episode....

Knowing that it was the cliff hanger before Thanksgiving weekend, I can see why the episode ended the way it did.

Lockhart definitely said send ALL the marines.

I think Dennis will get off lightly and get shot straight away. I hope he stays a weasel and doesn't get heroic on us. Ugh.

My exH's final affair was with someone called Tasmeen. The name patently always signifies trouble .

Finally caught up with this week's ep. Holy balls that was tense! This isn't the series finale is it?!? If so, that's one hell of a cliffhanger.

Dennis if shot should not get a clean hit to the head or chest and immediate death. A nasty painful stomach wound. Or both kneecaps.

Still like the idea of his being taken hostage. And that no one will want to cough up for his ransom.

"Well, how about a year's supply of Ferrero Rocher from the ambassador?"

the thing is, Homeland is never too predictable....

...and they never give the viewer exactly what they want...

I reckon that Quinn will kick some ass next episode too. However I am a bit worried about his safety. I will be gutted if he is killed.

He has to.
He hasn't killed or beaten up anyone for a few episodes now.
Or shagged anyone. He's getting soft.

I think he might get together with nice Fara.

Those who fast forward the credits - the content of the VoiceOver sometimes changes, y'know.

I rewatched the RPG scene tonight as i missed it before.

I dont know how saul's glasses triggered the attack?

Also carrie and quinn cant die. Saul might but not immediately i think. Dennis should be taken hostage by the taliban and left in a hole to snivel. Quinn has to go all bad ass and kills some talibans. We hacent had enough quinn action this season.

The glasses and phone didn't trigger the attack. The glasses and then the phone call were to ramp up our feelings about Saul being safe and secure back home with the women who loved him to give greater shock value and make us worry about him being killed.

I agree with Blu. I knew that it was not finished even after the tense exchange - Tasmin knew what was planned as she asked after Lockhart implying something was up (she did not know about the suicide vest so it was not that) and because of Mira's earlier call. A bit like Breaking Bad: those you have watched it should know what I am talking about Still was a shock though.

Thank you all. Someone upthread had said it was due to saul's glasses and i must have misinterpreted that.

It probably would have been an idea to take saul et all to a safe house rather than straight to the embassy which everyone knows where it is.

Re the credits, there is always a bit with Carrie doing what sounds like calling out in pain - is this a preview? Or I wondered if it was meant to be her giving birth?
