When does Masterchef Australia begin again? Is it in September? I can't find it out anywhere?

I'm waiting for this too, don't want to google it as I don't want to accidentally find out who wins, but have been keeping an eye on the TV guide - I assume it's going to be on Watch? I would guess it'll start in the next few weeks...

LBOCS · 19/08/2014 20:06

I've seen it. It's very good (and absolutely not online if you were planning on looking for it Wink)

They've got rid of that strange themed idea they played with last year.

17leftfeet · 19/08/2014 20:07

Not sure but the Australian one is my favourite, currently re-watching the first series on TLC

munchkin2902 · 19/08/2014 20:13

Was looking at the watch website yesterday to try to find out! There is a comment saying they don't intend to show it Shock But then there is another comment saying sometime in September? I might be a geek and email them...

Ellenora5 · 19/08/2014 20:36

I love it, I hope they do show it, LBOCS glad to hear the got rid of that, I didn't like it, thought it was a bit unfair, fingers crossed it comes back Smile

TheLastThneed · 19/08/2014 20:41

I love MCA. I've just finished watching My Kitchen Rules Australia. It's so addictive.

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 21/08/2014 09:24

Elfo - they can't not show it!! Shock if you do email them, you will let us know what they say, won't you? Grin

Wobblestones · 22/08/2014 16:34

Just google for the episodes and watch them online! We've just finished the whole season - it was GREAT this year :)

Sunnymeg · 03/09/2014 14:05

Apparently it starts on Watch on Sunday 14th September Smile

CiderwithBuda · 08/09/2014 18:58

Came on to say it starts on Sunday.

We are still watching MKR.

Really want to watch the current season of The Block as a friend is in it.

Ellenora5 · 08/09/2014 20:15

Woohoo thanks sunnymeg, can't waitSmile

Kerberos · 08/09/2014 20:17

Hurray. Should have just checked here. Instead I googled. And now I know who won :(

Wobblestones · 09/09/2014 19:25

Don't worry Kerberos, it's still a great season. I don't think it'll spoil it too much for you as there are a few twists and surprises and hopefully you have no idea of the other finalists. I think it would be interesting watching knowing who wins, as this year's winner was one I never would have picked at the start. Bit of a slow burner but I think a worthy winner by the end.

Ellenora5 · 14/09/2014 13:53

Looking forward to tonight, I'm going to record so I can skip the adds Smile

TheLastThneed · 16/09/2014 09:42

I've just started my Masterchef journey...the Australian version is always very emotional...

Mummyslittleduckie · 18/09/2014 11:43

So, what do you think of it so far? I can't remember the name of the man, but the one who was living in America - annoying/emotional or passionate? I'm undecided at the moment.

OP posts:
Sunnymeg · 18/09/2014 12:14

Is it Byron? I think that might be his name. It is early days, but enjoying so far, although not a fan of Kylie Kwong who apparently
is featured a lot this series.

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 18/09/2014 12:55

Why don't you like Kylie Kwong? I don't really know anything about her.

I'm undecided about most of them at the moment - there are still so many! I quite like Byron though, and I think Nick is very sweet, and also seems to be good so far. Nobody noticeably annoying yet...

Mummyslittleduckie · 18/09/2014 13:41

That's right, Bryon. I feel he was almost in tears every two minutes. That would be annoying if he is like that every time. But I agree, no obvious annoying people so far. I don't understand why we haven't seen the house yet though?

OP posts:
Sunnymeg · 18/09/2014 14:13

I think Kylie is limited in what she will bring to the programme. I do think she is a lovely person, but I don't find her very inspirational. I think they would have been better with a chef who has a wider repertoire to be honest. I can't see her knocking up a decent Italian, Indian or French dish. Although I will be delighted if she proves me wrong.

DuPainDuVinDuFromage · 18/09/2014 21:30

Yes I see your point sunnymeg, it would be better if they had lots of different chefs for the series rather than one core mentor. It's cute little Shannon wotsit (Matthews?) tomorrow though Smile And that must mean we'll get a bit of Curtis Stone at some point Grin

Who does everyone think will go tomorrow? I reckon Deepali is probably the weakest based on what we've seen so far, which is a pity because she's the token Brit...

Mummyslittleduckie · 18/09/2014 22:49

I agree, Deepali is not very confident.

OP posts:
Davros · 18/09/2014 22:53

I'm only just at the beginning of the first elimination. Enjoying it but do find the sob stories utterly tedious. They didn't feature the house last year anything like as much as before so maybe they won't show it much this year. Pity, I like the house bits. I want to know what happened to Matt Moran, it's like he never existed!

getdownshep · 19/09/2014 11:31

Does anyone else think they are much harder, for want of a better word, on the men? I feel they seem much more critical of the men's mistakes than the women?
Also the way certain contestants seem to get concentrated on? Last night when they were calling up people I thought I have never seen half of them, the older grey haired man for instance.
Yes where is the georgeous Matt MoranSad

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 19/09/2014 12:37

I only spotted this new series by chance - I didn't see any trailers for it at all.

Masterchef Australia is my favourite of all the Masterchefs - I prefer the format to the British one, and it is the original of all the others who use the format, so the best, IMO.

This series, I am liking all the contestants so far - in previous ones there has always been someone who got on my wick right from the get-go, but this time they all seem nice - and whilst it clearly makes good TV to have an abrasive character or two, I do like it when I feel just as happy whoever wins, if that makes sense.

If it doesn't make sense, my apologies - I sat up all last night watching the referendum results come in, and am functioning on about 4 hours sleep and some nuclear coffee!
