Is this like that Cirque de Soleil thing?

danceponydance · 09/08/2014 19:29

I like her more when she's performing and not talking.

poorbuthappy · 09/08/2014 19:32

Good lord it's Emma Samms!

17leftfeet · 09/08/2014 19:34

I have no idea who she is?

OP posts:
Redcoats · 09/08/2014 19:35

She was in Dynasty in the 80s.
I missed a bit, has anyone been really rubbish yet?

17leftfeet · 09/08/2014 19:36

Yeah, Emma sands or whatever her name is

This is on for 6 weeks I think. I'm sure Strictly is usually end of September

startwig1982 · 09/08/2014 19:44

He's fairly easy on the eyes. No idea who he is though!

LightastheBreeze · 09/08/2014 19:45

Thought the boxer was good and Emma Sams has worn quite well

LottieJenkins · 09/08/2014 19:46

this has made my night!!! Grin

Redcoats · 09/08/2014 19:47

He's lovely.
I've always thought he should be on Strictly. Guess his royal Ballet training rules him out. Didn't know he's a dancer.

Redcoats · 09/08/2014 19:48

Grin at Lottie.

danceponydance · 09/08/2014 19:49

That was really good. He moves much more easily than the others.

SauvignonBlanche · 09/08/2014 19:50

OMG, this is terrible but I'm stuck in hospital with not much else to do but watch it.

Bakeoffcakes · 09/08/2014 19:52

This is the bit I'm looking forward to!

silverfingersandtoes · 09/08/2014 19:53

My TV happened to be on mute when switched over to this, and I put the volume on only to hear the appalling Alex commenting on the "difficultness" of something. Straight back on mute.
Fgs, don't we have the woman on the box every single blasted weekday evening? Surely we could have Saturday off? Confused

Bakeoffcakes · 09/08/2014 19:56

That was great

TheOriginalWinkly · 09/08/2014 20:00

Alex is awful.

TheOriginalWinkly · 09/08/2014 20:01

Alex is really really awful. Beth 'twee'dle? Isn't it 'twedd'le?

Sparklingbrook · 09/08/2014 20:02

Oh blimey put ITV1 on. Tipping Point with slebs. Hmm

lecherrs · 09/08/2014 20:07

Yes it's Tweddle not Twee-dle.

My 10 year old gymnast laughed at how easy it all was, even the judge's handspring in the vault. 8 year olds can do that.

Trouble is, it does take 10 years to make a gymnast, so how far can they really go in 8 weeks. They're never going to rock the boat, are they...?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 09/08/2014 20:20

Yes, but neither are the ones on Strictly really.

(Dancing on Ice is a bit different, because being able to get around an ice ring at speed, stop, go backwards etc. is probably more useful later on than being able to do one foxtrot routine!)

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 09/08/2014 20:24

I did love the way he said "Expect pain, injuries, fear" at the beginning. He sounded almost gleeful at the prospect!

Butkin · 09/08/2014 21:35

The most extraordinary thing is that they have Carl Froch competing. He is a bona fide superstar - world champion 4 times and still fighting right at the top of his game now. Doesn't need the money or exposure and is in a different league to the rest of the Z listers.

It's a bit like Usain Bolt suddenly walking in. I was stunned.

Campaspe · 11/08/2014 09:27

I know it's only meant to be light entertainment, but I thought it was too drawn out and rather dull. I'm not interested enough in the celebrities, and the gymnastics, understandably, is not of a very high standard, so I'm not sure I'll bother again. Would have preferred them to run some sort of competition involving real gymnasts.
