No, Lipsticki is the first match on tomorrow, isn't she? as last year's runner up?

Hoorah for tennis!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 23/06/2014 20:07

I'd prefer they switched Rafa and Serena around. I might get to see his match then.

Raahh · 23/06/2014 20:08

Well, how disappointing.

Well, Melzer did keep saying he wanted to go in.

Rafa- me too. I'm going to be stuck at school for ages, and don't think i can rely on Lipsticki to play the longest match in Wimbledon history.

Thats pleased me about Lipsticki. After last year's final, this gives her a chance to play well again on centre and go some way towards banishing the memories of not performing well.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 23/06/2014 20:10

He appears to have some sort of god-like control over the weather. I'm not sure how much good it's going to do him. Tsonga's still going to be serving for the match. I would laugh if it stopped raining now and they made him go back out this evening.

Raahh · 23/06/2014 20:31

I did feel for Lisicki last year, much as I was delighted Bartoli won. She had played so well all of the tournament, and fell apart.

Rained here for all of ten minutes, just long enough to get my washing wet.

Don't care, DSIS got her new job Huge Grin!!

She's a massive tennis fan, and is on holiday for tennis, she muttered at an interview today, but it was worth it.

Raahh · 23/06/2014 20:38

Well done to her, Elephants!

She's delighted, her dept. Has been cut and reorganised and she was left doing more work for less money and two bosses. It wasn't going to end well.

purpleprincess · 23/06/2014 21:44

Hey ladies thought you might like to see this

Even if you're not a Berdych fan it might be worth a look.....nice tan line Tomas Wink

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 23/06/2014 21:59

Raahh · 23/06/2014 22:01

Oohh, nice pic, purpleprincess Smile

I was just watching the Today at Wimbledon programme. Does anyone else think Lindsay Davenport might have had some work done?? She's looking suspiciously wide eyed and smooth Wink

magimedi · 23/06/2014 22:17

Sorry, but Berdych just doesn't get me going!

Now how about this: (one for Pesky)

He doesn't even need to be 'nekkid' to get me pumped!!!!!!!!!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 23/06/2014 22:21

Tsonga would have been better, but it's a bit too early in the tournament for the naked Tsonga pic. Maybe later in the thread.

magimedi · 23/06/2014 22:29

No, Tsonga doesn't do it for me.

To go totally off topic this is the man who really gets me going!

Goodnight all - am going to sleep, perchance to dream!

And will be back in 100% tennis mode tomorrow Grin

Morning, all --

I missed most of the tennis yesterday due to sightseeing, but did catch a good bit of the Tsonga-Melzer match. I'd been feeling a little sorry for Jurgen, what with his potty issues and all, but his frequent complaints about needing to stop because of the light made him sound like one of the whiny Little Pigs in Shrek.

I actually heard him say to the umpire something like, "So if everyone jumps off a cliff, you jump off a cliff too?!" about a decision. Egads, channeling your mother at all, Jurgen?

Bring it on, Jo-Willy! Oh, and go Roger, as well. Obviously.

Off to a market and a castle this morning; will probably miss RF's match.

P.S. That red button thing which I've never understood when you mentioned it in previous years is amazing. I can PICK who I WANT to watch? So great.

Have a great time watching/listening today; I'll see yous later....

MrsVamos · 24/06/2014 08:38

Morning all !

Some good tennis yesterday, with a couple of shocks. Lets hope there isn't a nasty one today (Rafa).

Weather says showers possible at 2, so those thinking they may miss Rafa could be lucky as they may close the roof, which we all know takes a while !

I shall possibly miss part of it, but I have the Wimby app - hope it works !

Did anyone see Grigor interviewed after his match ? He called it Wimby - could he or Anna be a closet Mnetter ?! Grin

If I am not here in body I am in spirit, have a lovely day peoples !

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/06/2014 08:42

morning. Somehow yesterday I let life take over and didnt see any tennis. I also realise I have been neglecting you all with forecasts! Shock I'd put the showers a little later at between 3-4ish. Weak cold front travelling south.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/06/2014 08:43

showers are likely to become a nuisance friday on.

MrsVamos · 24/06/2014 08:54

I am more inclined to believe you OYBBK than the bbc ! That's good, the girls can play and Rafa will have won by 4pm so that's OK !

If showers are coming at the end of the week, I wonder if there will be any play on Sunday if matches get behind ?

I LOVE this fortnight.

Ooh, did anyone see the Andy M pg on BBC1 last night ? Very good. I teared up.

magimedi · 24/06/2014 09:01

I recorded the Andy pg - pleased to hear it was good MrsV.

Am looking forward to seeing Roger & Rafa & see how they are playing. Djok was pretty stunning yesterday!

Also Madison Keys, who I so enjoyed watching at Eastbourne, last week.

MrsVamos · 24/06/2014 09:17

Hmmm.

Don't want to offend, but I didn't think Novak was stunning, he played very well, but didn't really have much of an opponent, like Andy with poor Goffin, did he ?!

I always think the first few matches aren't a true gauge of how players are. You expect them to play well and win easily and invariably they do ! ( Rafa take note).

I seriously have the wibbles re Rafa today, hence the joking, I think last year affected me deeply !

I felt sorry for Goffin yesterday, and thought some of the "come on Andy" screams were unnecessary. Fair play to Goffin though, I thought he tried hard and coped well with the Murray hysteria.

Britain will be heartbroken if Andy doesn't make it to the Final !
