I wondered that too, about Bjorn's trainers. His mother, wherever she's watching from, will have something to say about that no doubt.

How exciting Juan- wave to us all or give us a clue so we can spot you

JuanPotatoTwo · 08/06/2014 18:14

I swear Jim sleeps in big spongy rollers, at least in his fringe.

Raahh · 09/06/2014 12:18

Very glad to see the sun in Halle- under a foot of water here in the North West. not quite and really stuffy. Wish the weather would make up it's mind.

Tennis

can't watch at the moment- Wibbly Pig is on cbeebiesGrin

Raahh · 09/06/2014 12:19

Tennis- glad the balls haven'r been removed, silly to take them away just to give them back for Wimbledon.

DramaAlpaca · 09/06/2014 13:33

I see we have another type of ball now.

Tennis Football Tennis

Raahh · 09/06/2014 13:51
Football

oh look.

I'm not much of a fan, dh is, but he isn't that bothered by the World Cup. I would probably still end up watching, if it din't clash with tennis though.

I said it last year, and probably for years before that- but I much preferred the red colour of the Stella Artois, to the bright blue of Aegon. (and I still think of it as the Stella too, or Queen's).

Raahh · 09/06/2014 13:53

it's always a shock to see the bright green grass, after the dusty red clay, too - plus the camera angles make the courts look so much smaller.

threebats · 09/06/2014 15:03

^^ It is always a shock to see grass after clay....
Afternoon ladies Tennis

DramaAlpaca · 09/06/2014 15:04

It is a shock. I just had a quick look when I went home for lunch, such a contrast after the red clay. I was home in time to see James Ward win his match Smile

threebats · 09/06/2014 16:44

Anybody spied juan in her potato hat yet??

JuanPotatoTwo · 09/06/2014 16:52

I went to the gym this morning and in the cafe afterwards (the best bit obviously) there was a large group of women. One woman joined them a bit late and a lot of the others started congratulating her. On Rafa's win at the French. I was nearly out of my seat ready to ambush her, thinking she must know him or something :) However, disappointingly it turned out she was just a big fan.

Just watched a bit of Evans v Meltzer but the biased commentary drives me mad. Re the world cup - we're going on our hols on the day of the final much to the disgust of ds' s one and two. Well how was into know? S' only footie anyway. :)

Good to see James Ward & Dan Evans winning on the grass Tennis

MacenroeTheBoatAshore · 09/06/2014 16:56

you'll have to tell us what youre wearing and where you sit, who you're watching, and give a special mumsnet signal Juan.

well done Ward and Evans. Tennis

and Kolschreiber too Tennis.

LOVE the grass courts. so clean and neat and tidy and green and English! Tennis

trixymalixy · 09/06/2014 17:08

The lovely green courts are a bit of a relief for my eyes after the harsh redness of the clay courts. The clay courts make me feel hot sweaty and gritty just looking at them!

MacenroeTheBoatAshore · 09/06/2014 17:14

same here trix I get a headache after a while, makes me wish for the return of black and white tv!

The greens so fresh and kind on the eyes.

Too much colour with the red clay, the bright tennis outfits (I did like Shriekys dress in the final though).

Oh no. Castles back! Angry.

Lol Peter Fleming calls John Lloyd Melonhead!

gfot subtitles on and Darren Cahill was reffered to as Darren Cave hell.

and 'that man'-head groundsman- was referred to as Batman! Tennis

JuanPotatoTwo · 09/06/2014 17:56

Have we got hats knitted yet, Juan?

Be nice for him to have won Wimbledon first, then, we'll let him have that one. Grin

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 09/06/2014 18:20

Macenroe BBC live subtitles are hilarious. The restaurant at work has News24 on with the volume off and subtitles on. My personal favourites so far are:

a group of people turning up to Thatcher's funeral being referred to as 'these tedious people'
a point in the Leveson inquiry where Lord Leveson was interviewing someone from the government and the sentence 'I want to move on now to the text messages sent from David Cameron to Rebecca Brooks' was accidentally transcribed as 'I want to move on now to the sex messages sent from David Cameron to Rebecca Brooks'. That's a whole new aspect to the story. I nearly choked on my lunch.

MacenroeTheBoatAshore · 09/06/2014 18:29

LOL.

Mauresmo. any thoughts?

was a bit Hmm at 1st but then thought why not? lots of the ladies have male coaches, why not the other way round? and as Andy Said his mum was coaching him a long time.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 09/06/2014 18:53

I was just coming back to tell you all the very exiting news that I HAVE TENNIS with pictures and everything. But now I don't, because it's raining. Sad

MacenroeTheBoatAshore · 09/06/2014 18:57

and they've finished broadcasting on the red button. didn't know it started on the red button at 12.30 and tuned in at 1pm. gaaaah! always love the opening of grass court tournaments and missed the beginning.
