Is it true when you become a mum your tastes change as to who you find attractive???

What I mean is: I have a friend who has a friend in her 'mum chum' crowd who finds 'Big Cook' attractive. Now, surely under other circumstances when not forced to watch children's tv she wouldn't give 'Mr Cook' another glance?? I know someone else who fancies bloody Simon from Tikkabilla! (None of these people are me).

David Tennant is another example. Surely if he was just plain old David McDonald from Paisley, working in Oddbins, no-one would fancy him? Is it just the glamour of:

a) being a good cook
b)able to sing and dance and entertain children (always attractive in potential husbands)
c) having two hearts, and therefore able to give a lotta love?

I went through a phase of fancying Bob the Builder once

scotchick · 03/09/2006 20:26

Too bloody cheerful

I love sportacus

CountTo10 · 03/09/2006 20:29

yes I have to say save the moustache sporticus is the best bit of lazytown!!

scotchick · 03/09/2006 20:32

Hmmmm...

I was meaning actual real people! Although Simon from Tikkabilla is quite plasticky.

I don't even know sporticus - is he a bit of alright??

Sportacus is gorgeous in real life. I quite like the black guy on CBeebies too! Is it Sid? Think I need to get out more.

expatinscotland · 05/09/2006 15:46

Well, yes. I'm sure someone would find David Tennant fanciable, even if he were working in Oddbins, b/c there are a lot of tragic cases out there who find mingers like David Tennant fanciable .

expatinscotland · 05/09/2006 15:47

Justin from Tikabilla is just hot, hot, hot!

Tommy · 05/09/2006 15:47

although, to be fair, Big Cook can't actually cook can he?

Maybe it's just because of what we end up watching - I generally see children's TV (yes Sid is yummy!) and the news - doesn't give you a lot to choose from does it?!

crazydazy · 05/09/2006 15:49

Shaggy from Scoobydoo?

No still like guys I have always liked - Colin Firth, Brad Pitt, David Beckham.

Bomper · 05/09/2006 20:15

Oh god, Sid is just BLEURGH!!! Especially when he is doing bloody 'Sid says', it makes my toes curl it's so cringeworthy!! Now Sportacus, hmmmm that's a different story...

scotchick · 05/09/2006 20:29

Who is Sportacus who has you all going??

Justin from Tikkabilla? Jeez. FAR too jolly! Can you imagine that waiting for you in the bedroom?? Totally asexual!

Wouldn't be cleverly thought out if that were the case. I mean if you became a mum and no longer found the father of your child attractive, I'd say nature had messed up big time.

Yes, but the father of your child is just, well, the father of your child.

Think of the exciting possibilities of a life with Justin!

The children's tv presenters are so incredibly asexual (I guess that's the point) except PC Plum who screamed HOMOSEXUAL!!!

I think when you are forced into hours of childrens TV that you brain has to try & find a way to cope... and lusting after kids TV presenters is a way of helping you find some pleasure in watching it.

Besides Doodle-do Chris is the best. Sporticus is amazing, but it wears me out just to watch him. I think I am just too sleep deprived to cope with that kind of energy

expatinscotland · 06/09/2006 10:41

PC Plum does have a lovely singing voice, though.

saltire · 06/09/2006 10:43

Well i quite like David Tennant. Or at least i did until i watched a trailer for the new series of "Who do you think you are?". He's on it and he has a beard and mustache. Euk

schneebly · 06/09/2006 10:43

I liked Cbeebies Chris - didn't even notice how totally gay he was!

expatinscotland · 06/09/2006 10:44

'He's on it and he has a beard and mustache. Euk'

Yeah, that makes him even more minging. Although, he has a lovely West Coast voice. Too bad about hte face, eh?
