Is it true when you become a mum your tastes change as to who you find attractive???

What I mean is: I have a friend who has a friend in her 'mum chum' crowd who finds 'Big Cook' attractive. Now, surely under other circumstances when not forced to watch children's tv she wouldn't give 'Mr Cook' another glance?? I know someone else who fancies bloody Simon from Tikkabilla! (None of these people are me).

David Tennant is another example. Surely if he was just plain old David McDonald from Paisley, working in Oddbins, no-one would fancy him? Is it just the glamour of:

a) being a good cook
b)able to sing and dance and entertain children (always attractive in potential husbands)
c) having two hearts, and therefore able to give a lotta love?

I'm not a fan of the west coast accent though expat. I have a bit of a thing for Gerry Butler, who's from that area, but his accent in film always sounds so forced. Especially in lara croft, there's one scene where he tells her to stop looking at his ass! FGS, someone from the west coast would say "erse", wouldn't they. my tastes haven't changed all that much, i have always liked Joaquin phoenix - who has nothing whatsoever to do with children's tv, i do however like doodle do man!

Sophiev73 · 06/09/2006 11:18

Have laughed all the way through this thread... I think Doodle do Chris has that lazy way about him...mmm... Agree with same reason sportacus just too energetic (mind you the titles on the programme also have to be read at that speed...on on speed) Why oh why am I trying to read the titles???

expatinscotland · 06/09/2006 11:19

Never seen Laura Croft. Too much Angelina is never a good thing. Just ask Jennifer Aniston.

I like it when it's natural and not a staged one like those River City people.

scotchick · 06/09/2006 11:24

Chris from Cbeebies is gay?

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 06/09/2006 11:26

Yes, he is gay.

scotchick · 06/09/2006 11:28

Would never have thought.

OP posts:

not for me.
I always liked them pale and fey and I still do.
I don't need someone to look after me, thankyouverymuch.
David Tennant I would ways have found attractive because he is filthy dirty.
now Chris from doodledo I think is mainly because I spend most of my day looking at puppets and the bloody tweenies that an otherwise vaguely attrative man is rather like a diamond in the dust.
ie Chris is NOT a Tweenie or a big fkn red dog, hence rather benefits from his surroundings.
there are no suroundings dire enough to make Simon from Tikkabilla look attractive, though.
I mean that's just sick

saltire · 06/09/2006 11:41

But Paul from Tikkabilla is nice , and he has that scots accent again

scotchick · 06/09/2006 11:47

Paul - is that the black guy with the little dreads? I'd forgotten about him! Lovely face, but really skinny.

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 06/09/2006 11:48

Paul revs my motor! I like 'em lean like that. Bet he's got a nice, smooth chest as well.

He is fanciable, indeed.

harpsichordcarrier · 06/09/2006 11:49

oh yes Paul is yum
Sideshow Bob, Pruni calls him.
just the sort of body type that floats my boat too

sockmonkey · 06/09/2006 11:51

I remember Paul being on TV when I was a kid, so I find it odd that someone would find him attractive.
And Justin... well he looks like a giant man-baby. I can imagine him going to bed in a babygrow. Then again... I suppose Harpsicord is right, maybe it's just finding someone who isn't a puppet or whatever

scotchick · 06/09/2006 12:07

Man-baby! That made me laugh out loud!!! It's so true! He's got a twin brother though I think. I seem to remember one classic episode with Sarah-Jane when he was going through his family photo album and she was feigning interest.

That is so funny!

Maybe he's married with kids??

I like david tennent cause he just seems so dirty

scotchick · 06/09/2006 12:11

What is with this David Tennant is dirty thing?

That's twice it's been mentioned.

Dirty as is durrrrrrty I take it?

Where's your evidence? His dad's a minister fgs!

OP posts:
Sparkler1 · 06/09/2006 12:11

I reckon - I'm starting to find some older men quite attractive now.

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 06/09/2006 12:19

Dirty as in filthy

Yum!

saltire · 06/09/2006 12:24

He looks dirty with his beard, in fact he looks manky

expatinscotland · 06/09/2006 12:27

David Tennant is boak. Don't know where some of you get off . Of course, there are those on here who find Gordon Brown fanciable. Pass the bucket! I'd rather have David Tennant's babies than touch Gordon Brown.

ginmummy · 06/09/2006 13:36

David Tennant is gorgeous! Sexy is a cooky way, the kind of bloke you could have some serious fun with in the bedroom!

saltire · 06/09/2006 13:37

He is sexy - just not with his beard. Wait till the programme comes on tv and you'll see what i mean

ginmummy · 06/09/2006 13:39

Still can't fathom out how to put links on here as it just doesn't seem to work but type his name into google images and see what it brings up - top totty!

p.s. I'm not a stalker!

serenity · 06/09/2006 13:47

I would have fancied DT prekids. My taste for questionable looking men has endured from my teens, despite marrying someone who doesn't fit my usual 'type' at all. I still like the men I liked before, although as some of them have got older I find myself being very shallow and prefering them with hair and without paunch

saltire · 06/09/2006 13:49

I'm not a stalker either ginmummy, but if i lived near Joaquin Phoenix or David Tennant i could well become one

ginmummy · 06/09/2006 14:03

I know I'm not a stalker because I don't know where DT lives!
