Grin- it's worth a goGrin

JuanPotatoTwo · 28/05/2014 15:51

Eeww, I don't want to hear Jim and Mark talking about their toilet needs.

Raahh · 28/05/2014 15:51

I love listening to British ex-players trying to make out they ever played at anywhere near the level most players do nowGrin

JuanPotatoTwo · 28/05/2014 15:53

If they have a rain break and Jurgen returns in pale blue I will Grin

JuanPotatoTwo · 28/05/2014 15:55

It winds me up to the level where I mutter things constantly along the lines of "what do you know" - and other much less polite stuff.

And Klingon wins!Grin

I'm back in time from a tour of Wimbledon (!!) to watch the last couple of games of Fed's match against the guy I was convinced was only 15.
"Diddums" (love that) may be someone to watch in future years; he hit some great shots.

Am now settling down to see some lovely tennis courtesy of Jo-Willie. "That is so Jo!" as one of the commentators just said.... No wine yet, but am enjoying tea and scones.

I'm reluctant to leave this HD-supplied and upholstered heaven for the rest of the week.

JuanPotatoTwo · 28/05/2014 15:58

What did you do in Wimbledon Irene? Did you enjoy it?

JuanPotatoTwo · 28/05/2014 16:10

Jim is being very dismissive of my little Dom.

Raahh · 28/05/2014 16:15

He doesn't fancy his chances, does he? neither do i , but stranger things have happened. Grin

I love Jo-Willy's smile.

IreneR · 28/05/2014 16:15

I loved Wimbledon -- DS and I took a tour of the grounds and Centre Court, went to the museum, and bought junk in the shop. It was so much fun; just a thrill for me to be there, really. Maybe some day, I'll even watch some tennis in person....

Amazed to hear both Williamses are out. I'm still not sure what my opinion of them is, day to day, but I am surprised they are out already. Well, Serena, anyway.

Tsonga appears to be having such a good time.

Mama1980 · 28/05/2014 16:32

Tsonga looks so happy bless him Smile

MacenroeTheBoatAshore · 28/05/2014 16:38

who is Klingon?

IreneR · 28/05/2014 16:59

Just guessing: Martin Klizan?

Raahh · 28/05/2014 17:06

correct, Irene.

I am watching Pironkova/Shreiky.

I like Pironkova, she is 'unconventional' Grin

IreneR · 28/05/2014 17:09

(She's quiet, too!)

Raahh · 28/05/2014 17:13

Quiet is good. The temptation to silence Shrieky with a stray ball must be immense. Grin

Raahh · 28/05/2014 17:48

eep- Lipsticki just had a really nasty fall.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 28/05/2014 19:11

She is playing doubles now so I hope she's OK.

I seem to have missed both Williams sisters and Dogsbollocks going out today. Not sure I've heard of either of the players who knocked the Williams sisters out.

Nadal, Ferrer, Fognini, Murray, Watson and Jack Sock all playing tomorrow.

IreneR · 28/05/2014 22:35

I have day to myself tomorrow; I can't decide what to do with it. The thought crossed my mind to go and find a sports bar and just watch tennis all day.

(Do you even have sports bars here? If you do, I bet they're like ours, and oddly, tennis is usually rarely on the screens.)

threebats · 28/05/2014 22:40

I thought he must have been about 12 and due a growing spurt at any point over the summer holidays :)

Busy day today, not much tennis watching possible - tomorrow will be about the same sadly but I am getting it in when I can, which is the story of my flipping life Shock

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 28/05/2014 23:19

If you're in London I' sure there will be sports bars. Not sure whether you'd find tennis though, possibly not. Lots of pubs will have a screen showing sports though.

Thinking about it, I' way out of London and have a sports bar in the next street and at least 3 pubs with large screens showing sports most days within easy walking distance.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 28/05/2014 23:23

Ooh look sports bars showing the French Open

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 28/05/2014 23:32

I take no responsibility for whether or not those are bars that you should go to to watch tennis. I know nothing about them.

Although if you see lots of West Ham or Millwall supporters around it, then take my advice and stay away. Being bundled out the back door by the landlord while a riot takes place and the furniture is being smashed up is not the way you'll want your afternoon to go.

IreneR · 29/05/2014 08:21

Oh, I dunno, RafaIsTheKingOfClay, it would be a new cultural experience....

Thanks a million for the MatchPint link; unbelievably helpful! From Fitzrovia to Farringdon to Fulham, they'll have it covered! (But how much you wanna bet I end up at Pret?)

I look forward to catching up with the scores and the chat this evening; today is all about kultcha.
