Juan Grin yes- Bagnis is doing brilliantly. No idea how this will end Benneteau looked injured/had the trainer out earlier.

JuanPotatoTwo · 26/05/2014 19:04

Oh sorry, I got the Thiem score wrong - he's just won the second set.

JuanPotatoTwo · 26/05/2014 19:17

Oh fantastic!

JuanPotatoTwo · 26/05/2014 19:18

Fantastic Facundo :)

JuanPotatoTwo · 26/05/2014 19:21

Oh bless, he's on the phone now. Must be ringing his mum :)

JuanPotatoTwo · 26/05/2014 19:41

Dominic through.

Raahh · 26/05/2014 19:43

Had to sort out DD2.

Brilliant result. Not a great day for French players today, though.

Garcia-Lopez is playing very well. Maybe Stan does better when his shirts are creased?

Raahh · 26/05/2014 20:02

Stan is certainly being out-played here. The crowd are not happy.

MacenroeTheBoatAshore · 26/05/2014 20:04

woah, wassup with the man Stan? Love the Stan man but love Garcia-Lopez too so VAMOS Lopez.

MacenroeTheBoatAshore · 26/05/2014 20:04

Tennis Tennis Tennis

hope these stay now through Wimbledon.

Raahh · 26/05/2014 20:07

Garcia-Lopez is playing so well. I like Stan- but I'm sure there will be excuses when he loses.

Clearly, this crowd didn't expect what they are seeing, despite G-L having been a very good player over the years.

Vamos Tennis

Raahh · 26/05/2014 20:08

The booing in the crowd is pretty poor show.

Not Stan's finest hour.

Raahh · 26/05/2014 20:11

Oh ffs- Inverdale has already got Murray to the last 8 now that Stan is out.

Shut up.

JuanPotatoTwo · 26/05/2014 20:22

Stan's problem was that his game style was heavily influenced by his outfit. So, if you wear lemon you play like a lemon. Shame that, it looked good on him.

Raahh · 26/05/2014 20:26

Ah, yes Juan- the curse of the LemonGrin

Mama1980 · 26/05/2014 20:31

Yep The curse of lemon strikes again!
Poor Stan Hmm not sure what happened.
I read a interview he gave and he was saying how mentally he is struggling, he achieved his ambition but not really, he won but didn't and said he was finding that very hard to cope with along with the added pressure of being a gs champion. Hope he finds his form later in the year.

Raahh · 26/05/2014 20:34

I think the demons of the Aussie Open seem to have affected both Stan and Rafa. Neither will ever know what would have happened 'if'...

Hopefully Stan can re-group before Wimbledon.

JuanPotatoTwo · 26/05/2014 20:36

That's interesting mama. Why does he feel he didn't achieve his ambition - was it cos Rafa was injured? He certainly hasn't lived up to that win really. Pot is saying on FB how it hurts not to be at Roland Garros :(

Raahh · 26/05/2014 20:39

Juan- must be worse for Pot because it is the second year running. it's like the whole sport is moving on without himSad

Mama1980 · 26/05/2014 20:44

Yep He said he wanted to win but not the way he did (with rafa so clearly injured) and that it didn't matter then but he has struggled with that since. Did he win because he earnt it or because rafa was hurt?
I agree with raahh that it is that what if... That is probably affecting both Stan and rafa since.
Poor pot Hmm do they know when he maybe back yet?

MrsVamos · 26/05/2014 20:51

Evenin' All !

Tennis Yay !

Ended up going out today (grrrrrrrrrrrr) and managed to catch the last set of Rafa's match, he looked in fine form.

All else is well, I assume, Novak played well ?

Haven't seen schedule for tomorrow, but as the weather forecast is so crap, I am intending on parking my backside and not moving as of tomorrow.

Was hoping the rain today would be enough to carry the tournament over a day, clearly my dancing and wailing wasn't enough, unless maybe I need to wail in French ? I think maybe all the rain came here today ? Grin

Poor guy, he was a real contender, I thought. Sad

I would be exactly the same in the unlikely event of me ever winning a slam! That is, I'd be unable to accept it was my talent and hard work that had won it for me. But I'm not a world class sportsman (some of you may be surprised to learn this). He is though, and psychology must surely play a huge part in the game at his level - he and his team are hopefully addressing that. Both he and Rafa seem to be having some confidence/psychological issues this year, and it's fairly obvious that they are just from watching them play. Is it to late, do you think, for me to become a sport psychologist?

Yes, must be hard for Pot seeing all his peers doing their thing whilst, yet again, he's sidelined. Wonder what he makes of Bagnis' s win. He did say a few weeks ago he would like to be back playing again in August/September but I guess he can really write off this season totally. It must be so utterly frustrating.

JuanPotatoTwo · 26/05/2014 21:07

Evening MrsV, yes Stan out. Only himself to blame really - he was wearing yellow. :)

DramaAlpaca · 26/05/2014 21:08

Stan!!! Shock
