Where can this go? I mean the guy she thinks did it must be guilty surely, or there is no story.

OP posts:
Nerf · 07/04/2014 21:43

No idea. An already fed up with all the unlikely stuff - police party in uniform in a pub? CCTV within 12 hours? Police reluctant to think a consultant could do it?

Clawdy · 07/04/2014 22:27

I found it gripping and far more believable than most dramas - so far. Apart from the bit where the doctor's daughter accosted his accuser - that was very unlikely. The DNA result was interesting,is there any way it could be faulty?

YoniBGood · 07/04/2014 22:29

I'm guessing that just because there was blood on her, it doesn't mean it had to be his. They're just assuming that.

Onesleeptillwembley · 07/04/2014 22:31

Jane and the solicitor daughter look alike. I think he's really her dad. And the bloke she thinks is her dad did it. After discussing it all the way through with dp.

IAmDoneNow · 07/04/2014 22:33

Wow, that is a good theory Onesleeptillwembley Where have I seen the Solicitor before?

Clawdy · 07/04/2014 22:39

Good theory onesleep but the little girl heard the scream and then passed the stranger, didn't she?

Onesleeptillwembley · 08/04/2014 14:51

I googled her last night, because I couldn't place her! She was Melanie, the daughter in Early doors.
Maybe she's mixed the men up in her mind. I'm probably totally wrong, though.

IAmDoneNow · 08/04/2014 14:59

Ahh, thank you, yes Melanie.

Someone on fb suggested that the Dr got blood from someone else and pretended it was his? Not sure how he could have got away with that?

Lorelilee · 08/04/2014 15:48

My DH reckons that if you get a plasma or blood transfusion, it can change your DNA and thinks it was the consultant and that's what happened for whatever reason.

hollyisalovelyname · 08/04/2014 19:13

I missed the start. Is that Jane's dad or step dad? Does she have siblings?
It's a good whodunnit.
Especially now the DNA is not a match.
Parts of it don't ring true though.
But hey, suspend the disbelief.

guineapiglet · 08/04/2014 19:15

We watched it and find it good (?) or rather absorbing viewing - an interesting story and the 'crime' was intriguing - I agree with the poster upthread about the fact that as a Consultant Oncologist he might somehow have had a blood transfusion, or somehow altered his blood

I am racking my brains trying to remember any recent drama which I have enjoyed which didn't involve a dead body....., a violent murderrrrr or a criminal twist - can't think of ONE!!!

guineapiglet · 08/04/2014 19:16

It is Jane's Dad - and Step Mum. I think she had step siblings, or rather half siblings.

hollyisalovelyname · 08/04/2014 19:30

Thank you

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/04/2014 10:35

On planner. Will watch today

Havnt read any comments

GoldenGytha · 09/04/2014 17:02

I did wonder if somehow the doctor had bribed someone to switch the bloods, so his would come up as negative, didn't realise that about transfusions.

I also wondered about Jane's dad, he seems very reluctant to help her pursue the case.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/04/2014 18:00

he seemed very reluctant to give his blood,if innocent thats the easiest way to prove he was ...........

must have swapped the blood somehow

CalamityKate · 09/04/2014 18:54

I really don't see how it's a case of "Oh ok - it's not your blood. You obviously didn't kill her then".

What if it was someone else's blood?? Surely with DNA as it is now they'll test Jane's dad, step mum etc....

BeyondTheSea · 09/04/2014 20:31

I think he could possibly have got hold of some white blood cells and infused them, which would change the the DNA reading which is why he then agreed to have his blood taken but didn't initially.

I don't like the main actress - find it hard to empathise with her.

Clawdy · 09/04/2014 21:01

Unless the twist is going to be that he isn't the killer but she refuses to believe it and ends up ruining lives and/or putting herself in great danger?

JuniorMint · 14/04/2014 21:22

Anyone watching this week?

baldisbeautiful · 14/04/2014 21:30

i am!!

JuniorMint · 14/04/2014 21:33

Hmm nasty past for Rawlins...!

Nerf · 14/04/2014 21:39

This is getting a bit like a load of bollox.

Nerf · 14/04/2014 21:43

So now the husbands out the way, rawlins can come up and threaten her?

Nerf · 14/04/2014 21:44

And the retiring PC will burst in and save her at the last minute
