Love Steve and Rob - again

MargotLovedTom · 06/04/2014 23:51

Can't see it on anywhere?

Lighthousekeeping · 06/04/2014 23:53

It's on the iplayer.

Ok, I'm going to watch it tomorrow night I think. Love Steve Coogan.

SushiForBreakfast · 08/04/2014 07:45

Loved the impersonation-offs in episode one!

Lighthousekeeping · 13/04/2014 23:26

I've been to this part of Italy afew times. Wished they'd talk more about the place tbh. It feels like one big jolly.

I love this show so much. 2nd episode had me crying, especially the moment Steve nearly fell off the boat Grin He was looking quite tasty in certain lights this week must be my age. The bit in the first series about "gentlemen, to bed! For we rise at 8.30ish" was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

insomniarules · 15/04/2014 19:32

Really enjoying it. I've got a huge crush on Steve Coogan.

Lighthousekeeping · 15/04/2014 19:37

I know what you mean but, I don't think he's meant to be all that in rl.

OP posts:
insomniarules · 15/04/2014 19:40

No, I think in RL he's a bit 'dirty ' and wouldn't look twice at me as I'm not 20 with huge boobs. I would settle for a good chat over a bottle of Rioja though.

Thurlow · 15/04/2014 21:52

Did anyone notice the comment about hanging out with Owen Wilson? I was Shock at that. It's funny that he put it in, but when you remember stories like this, it actually made me gasp!

Lighthousekeeping · 15/04/2014 22:02

Owen Wilson is married with a child now. Maybe they do still hang out. I would take what Courtney Love says with a pinch of salt. Blaming Steve Coogan is like blaming Mick Jagger for L'Wren.

I do firmly believe that Coogan is the exact opposite of the parts he plays. I imagine him to have a nasty streak.

We love The Trip in this house. It's so, so clever. Brydon gets all the best lines. His affable riff last week was priceless.

But is he a filthy shagger on a par with Coogan? There are arguments on both sides.

Lighthousekeeping · 15/04/2014 22:16

God knows. I hope not! Grin

I didn't know this had been on / was on at the moment. Thank goodness this thread's just popped up in active threads!

I loved the first series (helped by the fact that one of our local restaurants was featured Grin!) I heard that this series was going to be played less true to life whereas last time it was meant to be 'is this how they are in RL...?'.

Can't wait to watch on iplayer now Thanks

Lighthousekeeping · 19/04/2014 00:51

He goes out with the original Rosie Webster. A 22 year old lads mag model. Typical!

Saw this tonight -have missed the last 2 episodes but loved series 1. I am particularly happy because DH has (finally) agreed to take kids to Italy next summer... Grin

Lighthousekeeping · 19/04/2014 01:03

Oh,it's my favourite country. I've been to all the places on the show so far. I'm lucky as a friend has a house there. You will have a fab time!

OP posts:
bellabelly · 19/04/2014 01:24

Grin I know! We used to go there every summer until dcs arrived -then it was apparently "impossible"... Haha, no going back now...

bellabelly · 19/04/2014 01:25

I have MN witnesses...

frostyfingers · 19/04/2014 10:58

A classic line last night:

SC: she's got a nice gait (with reference to hotel lady as she walked past)

RB: It's probably locked....

MadamBatShit · 19/04/2014 11:06

Oh gotta watch it! The first Trip had me fully laugh out loud!

tiredandsadmum · 20/04/2014 20:32

I thought it was so awful, I complained to the BBC (which I have never done before). I love Italy and genuinely thought it would be a funny tour and review of the Italian restaurants, people and places. Similar to some of the chef tours. I couldn't believe how rude they were in episode 1, being served all that gorgeous looking food and not a word said about it and where they were. I felt it was a holiday paid for by the BBC.

Lighthousekeeping · 20/04/2014 22:37
