After 42 years and over 2000 editions, the BBC's weekly chart show announces its very last Number One tonight.

Sir Jimmy Saville looks stunning, and very old, in his shimmery gold outfit.
I'm reliving my youth tonight. DH are sat here laughing at all the presenters from the past - some of them don't look much different!

Jimmy Saville is certifiable! Great trip down memory lane though! Madonna is on at the mo in a pink wig!! Those were the days

I'm surprised they only made this final one an hour long. There is so much more they could have crammed in to get the viewers.

She looked very stunning but found the song very disappointing. Can't believe that was the last song ever on TOTP. There were much better tunes in the Top 10 than that rubbish!

Well I am a bit biased I suppose as dd (8) went to her friends party recently which was a dance party, and the routine they worked out was to that Shakira song. Said friend's mum and I joined in with the dancing and had a fab time pretending were 20 something rather than 40 something (dds were v embarrassed and asked us to dance somewhere else )

Did anyone notice Jimmy Saville seemed to struggle with the job?He seemed to be getting told what to say through his ear piece.

I was amazed at all the songs that were on I knew the words too and most of the groups , I always think of myself as not into pop music!

I actually felt quite sad that my kids won't get to watch it as it was always part of being a teenager!
