Anyone else watching? I saw Monday's but didn't realise it was on every night. I'm hoping to catch up on yesterday's and this evening's episode tonight.

Just saw the first quarter final, with two going through this time. I liked all the rooms except one. And that was one of the ones that went through!

I am freezing in my drafty victorian house at the moment, I would love to live in one those cosy cottages tonight.

I liked all of them ,my favourite was Jordan's colourful one...except the pink rocker..

The pink rocking chair was odd, it didn't go with anything much in the room. I, like the owner, loved the dog cushion cover.

I loved that that room (with the pink rocking chair) was so non-OAPish! I loved the designer of the bling roomSmile

I loved the chair too, I loved all the rooms but Jordans was my favourite.

Jordan's was the one room I didn't like. I was really surprised when they put it through compared to the others. BUT, I loved the first room he did in the Georgian challenge.

I didn't really like any tonight, but I hate the industrial look. I'm more Granny chic Grin

Why is everything painted grey though? It seems to be the colour du jour for some reason!

Grey seems to be the new magnolia , I like it but think it's difficult ot get right.
I like the granny chic look too.

I'm not sure about the concrete side table tops with a toddler wandering around.
Has the presenter ever did a programme? I love his talky bits telling us about the buildings and area.

I agree about the concrete - looked like an afterthought as well as being unsuitable with littlies. And the homemade wire lampshades looked like a H&S risk too!

Is it on anywhere tonight? I'm in Northern Ireland and we have the Top Gear repeat on at 7.

OMG I am an interior designer and would be ashamed of any of them! Not seen one yet with a decent finish. All grey and a bit craft-y. Mind you 48 hours and £1000 is a recipe for disaster. Its Changing Rooms part 2

Report
bigTillyMint · 03/02/2014 15:26

Yes Noddy, they are a bit crafty! It is Changing Rooms part 2Grin

But it's really interesting finding out a bit about some of the history and seeing ideas.

Noddy, in your professional opinion, who is the best?!! I agree about the poor finishes but am quite jealous of the women who sew so effortlessly. It takes me ages to make anything Sad

noddyholder · 04/02/2014 11:18

The thing is I think its hard to pick any of them as they have to do the painting and making etc which I never do! Being good at sewing and twisting wire isn't really interior design its craft. I like the older woman with bright red hair. And I also liked the asian guy but think he is out. If I ever did anything like that I would be out of a job. What they are doing is more like set design temporary and faddish but I don't think any of it would last or even look good after people used it. I love to watch it though Grin

I can paint etc and do a bit of plumbing and electrics but that isn't design either.

It does give me lots of ideas but I see what you mean about the crafting stuff not really being interior design. We are hopefully moving house soon and I'm feeling quite inspired by the show which I have watched over two days on iplayer Blush

Tom Dychoff (?sp) who does the presenting did that programme 'History of our streets' about bits of London. Was v v good. Also writes the Saturday Guardian column 'Let's Move To....' I liked the beardy bloke and the older woman tonight, neither of which made the final.

Just marking my place for tomorrow nights final. Yellow fireplace anyone?
Origami wallpaper was incredible but any five year old I know would have that either crayoned or ripped off in shreds after a day.Grin
