I'm sure after the Christmas special they said a new series would be starting in the New Year. So where is it?? [impatient]

What a brilliant episode I sobbed during the last half hour.

I think it will do well without Jenny I had a feeling she wouldn't be in the next series anyway maybe that's why they wrote her out for those couple if episodes too see how well it worked without her.

I'm looking forward too the next series already!

TheresOnlyOneWayOfLife · 09/03/2014 21:14

Broken!

figgypuddings · 09/03/2014 21:15

sobbing my heart out

ExcuseTypos · 09/03/2014 21:20

I wasn't at all close to my mum and I really diidnt like touching herSad I very much identified with Chummy tonight.

Very moving as always.

thegreylady · 09/03/2014 21:29

My word Miranda Hart proved she could act. It did seem very final at the end.

Best1sWest · 09/03/2014 21:32

Me and DD sometimes give my DM a manicure and pedicure. It's such a lovely thing to do for someone. Resolving to do if more often. I did shed a few tears at that scene.

LaurieFairyCake · 09/03/2014 21:36

God that was hard to watch.

How beautifully acted. Just the presence of sister Monica Joan sitting and waiting for Artemis's death was lovely. Miranda harts acting was amazing.

Bit rushed the last few scenes though - they could have had a little more silence at the death, just a few moments more.

GemmaTeller · 09/03/2014 21:37

Cried my eyes out at that last episode.

nipersvest · 09/03/2014 21:44

loved that episode, very sad but chummy was fab. think the series will do just fine without jenny, there are enough strong characters to keep the storylines going. would like patsy to stay and feature more next series.

Hulababy · 09/03/2014 22:04

Wow, what a last episode. Tears and smiles alternatively by the end.

So glad it has another series planned.

KnockMeDown · 09/03/2014 22:20

Have just finished watching, and am posting before reading what others have said. I honestly can't remember when I sobbed so much over a TV program! Chummy and her mother, Shelagh and the baby, and every thing else, I am still blubbing.

But especially the scenes of Chummy's mother's death - so, so touching.......

KnockMeDown · 09/03/2014 22:24

And now I'm crying again - I didn't realise that was the last episode Shock Sad

What am I going to do on a Sunday night?????

piratecat · 09/03/2014 22:27

i needed that cry. :(

that was so beautifully acted, Miranda Hart is fantastic.

Dillydollydaydream · 09/03/2014 22:30

Need to wait until christmas now for the christmas survival of CTM :(

TSSDNCOP · 09/03/2014 22:34

That was superb.

The manicure was heart-stoppingly beautiful.

Bravo Sister MJ and Chummy.

BBC pls lets have S4.

Dancergirl · 09/03/2014 22:46

Me and the dds have only recently started watching it! Great Sun evening telly. I've got some v stupid questions to ask soon, but in the meantime does anyone know if the earlier series will be repeated?

OhBabyLilyMunster · 09/03/2014 22:49

Sister Monica Joan is just wonderful

EnlightenedOwl · 09/03/2014 22:52

BBC Drama have been showing some of the earlier runs of CTM

Dancergirl · 09/03/2014 23:05

Ohh thanks, will check that out.

Right, why do the midwives live with the nuns? Blush

NancyJones · 10/03/2014 00:00

I cried at the orphanage bit because I wanted her to take the little one stood up in the cot watching. He looked so desperate for a cuddle as well as looking like he could climb out that cot but had no inclination to because he had nothing to get out for. Sad
I would have taken him instead.

NancyJones · 10/03/2014 00:00

Dancergirl, the nuns are midwives too.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 10/03/2014 00:28

Tears here too. I hadn't realised it was the last episode.

Pixel · 10/03/2014 00:58

I was on tenterhooks about the little boy as well, I kept expecting him to fall out of the cot on to his head!
I felt very sad that no one gave a thought to the poor 17 year old who had had her baby taken away Sad.

OodlesofOods · 10/03/2014 07:24

Such a bitter sweet episode. I loved seeing the doctor with the baby. It was obvious Shelagh wanted one but not him but he looked v happy.
Sister MJ was brilliant with the death and the scene with the Nivea.

lirael · 10/03/2014 08:12

Having sat with my mother at night while she died of bowel cancer that had spread to her liver, I found it almost unbearable to watch because it was so true to life :(. I thought the juxtaposition of the drawn out struggle for birth and death was very powerfully done.
