I think Appledore is a rather fab house just outside Wotton under Edge (Glos) built by a local entrepreneur. You can see the Tyndale monument on the hill behind it. Just been showing off to DS about spotting it!

I think that was entirely predictable once Sherl knew there were no actual vaults. Disappointed as this episode started really well.
