Odd time slot but sounds similar to Homeland in terms of being action packed and based on an Israeli series. I wonder why it's on Saturday rather than Sunday?

I've persevered and enjoyed this weeks episode. It does seem to have quite a lot of hidden twists. And the lead baddie looked rather fit when he was telling the loser boyfriend to back off Grin

It seems to me to be a cross between Revenge and Homeland. I'm happy to carry on watching as there isn't much else to watch on Saturday evenings and it isn't developing the way I thought, which makes it more interesting.

I've never seen Revenge. Might need to add that to my list.

I'm curious as to the lead baddie's motivation...someone upthread suggested that it was do with paying his wife's medical bills and I am beginning to think they might be right.

Also I wonder whether the man who ordered the hit on him is actually his father/ father in law ?

bisjo · 26/01/2014 20:04

I think there is more to why his wife is in hospital.

Revenge is barking mad and not to be taken at all seriously.

I thought was clever going to dd school

Fil and dermot said 'rem why we are doing this

Wife must be why he is doing it

Revenge is fab :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/01/2014 23:46

Forgot to say loved the kidnapper beating up the bloke who beat jake up (drug dealer) saying that jake worked for him now was a great idea. Gets him off jakes back

GypsyFloss · 03/02/2014 07:35

So...they are doing the job to earn money to pay for Duncan's wife's experimental treatment that she now says she doesn't want?
And he has also now been put in charge of the investigation into the missing nurse who one of his team is supposed to have killed?

Hmmmm.

Dillydollydaydream · 03/02/2014 10:52

I started watching this only because dh wanted to watch it but I'm actually really enjoying it.

GypsyFloss · 03/02/2014 11:49

It is good isn't it. I am enjoying more than I thought I would
. I'm not overly enamoured with Toni Colette and indeed much of the acting but I like the twists in the storyline.

Dillydollydaydream · 03/02/2014 11:55

I'm quite liking Duncan. He can't be totally bad because he hid the dds pregnancy test. He shot Brian, fair enough but to be fair Brian was shagging his secretary so I'll let him off for that!

turningvioletviolet · 03/02/2014 13:24

i'm really enjoying it. Lots of plot holes though - for example the hostage takers are so good at technology but seem incapable of bugging rooms / cars so they can hear all the conversations (or have i missed something there?).

Anyway, if I was her, I would go with children and leave scumbag cheating husband to die. Toni Collette's face is just weird these days and does not seem very expressive.

GypsyFloss · 03/02/2014 14:56

She looks rather gaunt I think , so when she does her anguished face it makes me think of Munch's The Scream Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/02/2014 21:39

still loving this and yes for a baddie, he is also a goodie as kicked the arse of the sons drug dealer Grin

turningvioletviolet · 10/02/2014 16:43

yes, Saturday's episode was great if not a little bit gruesome. Could have kicked the son for being so stupid as to use the phone box though. So many plot twists and turns. Toni Collette's face still perplexes me.

Dillydollydaydream · 10/02/2014 19:27

I was shouting at the tv when the son used the phone box. Nooooo!!
Poor Ellen having to sit there and listen to her dh phone the ow.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/02/2014 23:26

Stupid son !!!!

Who were the 2 bikes after the woman in gang

Who was the woman killed by gun by black bloke and thrown in pit :(

Why did dermot grass up his man - black bloke

turningvioletviolet · 13/02/2014 08:38

dead woman in pit was the nurse who was framed for giving the wrong meds to president - she was killed to show Toni Collette's character that 'they' meant business. Men who beat up the female hostage taker - no idea, i assume it's setting us up to realise that she has her own reasons for doing what she's doing. Don't know why Dermot grassed up the other man.

HolidayArmadillo · 13/02/2014 09:31

I think Dermot grassed on the other man because the nurses death should not have happened, he can't trust him now. I think.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/02/2014 11:32

So the nurse isn't Toni's friend who they killed and set up with suicide note?

So they have killed 2 people which I think dermot feels bad for :(

turningvioletviolet · 13/02/2014 12:27

yes! the nurse was Toni's friend. i don't think she was meant to be killed originally (just hidden away until the president was dead??) but then that other guy killed her when she tried to escape - which is why Demot is unhappy with him. Ah got it now.

HolidayArmadillo · 13/02/2014 12:40

^ she's got it! Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/02/2014 13:50

But Toni's friend was framed and they said it was suicide via guilt

Surely the autopsy would have shown a bullet hole in her back so no way she could have killed her self

Plus wouldn't her mum (who went to hospital with some of her things) want her daughters body

How did they get her body and put in hole/grave that Toni dug

HolidayArmadillo · 13/02/2014 15:08

There was never a body found. It was assumed to be suicide, in reality she was kidnapped by rogue FBI dude and his gang of merry men, another way of putting pressure on Madame surgeon. Unfortunately nursey was a feisty wee sausage and so big man had to deal with it in his own gun toting way. That rogue FBI dude did not approve of, if I had to guess I reckon he would level the accusation that big mans work was 'sloppy' and there's no room for a sloppy worker in a 'gonna kill the president plot'.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/02/2014 15:32

It's nurses mum I feel sorry for then. As if no body she will always wonder if her daughter is alive :(

HolidayArmadillo · 13/02/2014 15:58

We'll yes I suppose. If it were real life.... Wink
