I will probably watch it - did last week and was pretty at some of the 'parents'.

schneebly · 24/07/2006 21:07

Rio's mum is very patient!

Lemmingswife · 24/07/2006 21:10

Can't believe I've forgotten to record this, anyone know if its repeated... on itv2 perhaps?

wanderingstar · 25/07/2006 10:02

Dh was out last night so I watched it - he finds these things v. depressing. I know what he means, but I wanted to see what it was like. Didn't see all of it, but thought Bradley and Aaron looked a bit of a handful, but not beyond the realms of normal lively little boys. Mum seemed a bit depressed and hopeless, though was better towards the end.
Rio

Enjoying this 'new' series but can unfortunately see some of my own behaviour reflected in some of the parents shown ! I'm hopeing it will help me develop better parenting skills to help my family cope with a spirited child.

TheLadyVanishes · 25/07/2006 15:03

watched it and found it very interesting and quite sad, imo our children are how we raise them if that makes sense. I thought Rio was crying out for attention from his mum which he clearly wasn't getting (tho i'm sure there is probably more to it and you can't really comment on 1hrs watching). Like all parents i get frustrated but watching that mum swear to her children was awful and that other boy who was violent, if you allow a 5yr old?? to watch violent films or play violent video games what do you expect. Not sure if i will watch again coz i ended up getting annoyed by the finish

fairyjay · 25/07/2006 15:05

Maybe it should be retitled - Driving your kids mad'

TheLadyVanishes · 25/07/2006 15:05

I know what you mean dorisday, there was a time when having a laugh with dh we may have swore at each other but now we really have to watch ourselves and I'm trying not to shout at dd but praise her often

Iklboo · 25/07/2006 15:13

Think in my childhood this prog would have ben celled "kids being picked up by one arm and slapped on the bum round in a circle"

Thankfully we are more understanding these days

charliecat · 31/07/2006 21:10

this is on again

Totally gobsmacked
Makes my dd seem a complete angel (which she isnt) She drives me nuts sometimes, but nothing on that scale
I couldnt get over that lad hitting his mum, so violent and angry, and the language - did they say he was addicted to violent films or games or something. WHY IS HE WATCHING THEM??????????

Lemmingswife · 31/07/2006 22:08

I was alarmed at how much that one of the mothers swore at her child & when she finally got him to do the hoovering, she responded by saying "Good lad - give us a snog!"

mummyto2littleprincess · 31/07/2006 22:12

the little boy jamie how he hit the camera man and kept hitting his mum
in next week im sure it looked like she had a black eye

Serendippity · 31/07/2006 22:13

wow, i so feel for the mum in glasgow, that one is really extreme.
Upmost respect for rios mum, i'm not even sure i'm that patient and dd is an absolute angel most of the time!

tiswas · 31/07/2006 22:13

Her language was just appauling all the time, and that was possibly toned down as the cameras were there. If kids are treated with no respect how on earth can the parents expect respect in return. Totally depressing, I think.

Han4Dan · 31/07/2006 22:13

I really felt for the girl who's little boy keep hitting her but missed last week so not up to date on why iyswim. makes my kids look good.

mummyto2littleprincess · 31/07/2006 22:17

the 3yr old is very naughty my dd1 whos 3 is never like that shes a angel

miggy · 31/07/2006 22:33

Dh saw this for the first time tonight-his verdict "I think this is the one where the Child-tamer didnt get to pick the victims!"
Sorry to be judgemental but the mother of megan and the mother of Aaron and Bradley have got the children they deserve. Just feel sorry for the kids

monkey · 01/08/2006 05:18

Last night was a bit of a jaw dropper. I was so sad for the eldest son of Megan's mum. He was just sitting eating his dinner & kept turning to peep at tv & she's yelling at him, calling him the worst of her kids & it's always him etc. I really felt the slashes cutting into that little boys' heart. what a horrible, horrible thing to say to your child. And she called her daughter, a 3 year old girl,a bitch. And as for the parents of Aaron & Bradley. OMG I didn't know whether to laugh or cry at the amount of tantrums & swearing the parents did trying to draw up their rules for good behaviour.

noddyholder · 01/08/2006 06:56

I am amazed that this sort of tv is popular I mean I agree familes of difficult children need help and guidance but is it really what people want to watch when they sit down after a long day?Saw 5 minutes of it pure rubbish sorry And the names of these shows are awful too Tabloid TV

trinityrhino · 01/08/2006 07:17

is it a weekly thing?Or is last nights gonna be repeated, i missed it and would like to watch it

charliecat · 07/08/2006 16:59
