As promised, here is the shiny new live show thread.

Sadly, they have not provided us with a shiny new themeGrin

Song choices for this week are rumoured to be:

X Factor 2013 songlist – Week 1

Abi Alton – Livin’ On A Prayer

Sam Bailey – Power of Love

Hannah Barrett – What’s Love Got To Do With It

Sam Callahan – Summer of ‘69

Tamera Foster – Ain’t Nobody

Luke Friend – Every Breath You Take

Kingsland Road – I’m Your Man

Nicholas McDonald – True

Miss Dynamix – Jump

Rough Copy – In The Air Tonight

Lorna Simpson – So Emotional

Shelley Smith – Alone

So, basically it's 'The most obvious song choices from the 80's we could possibly have chosen' week. And Whitney.

How do you know this? Well interesting!

ssd · 12/10/2013 11:33

hardly a decent song there

MortifiedAdams · 12/10/2013 11:33

Im at work tonight, so will read this thread alongside the rerun tomorrow morning with a brew. I hear they only open the results line for ten mins and then film tomorrows episode tonight?

Raahh · 12/10/2013 12:09

Boo- years of watchingthis rubbish X Factor has shown me all the places to look. Although last year, they didn't seem to announce the song choices ahead very often. I like to be forewarnedGrin

Best site I've found for consistently getting the right info is TellyMix.

Mortified- I'm not sure if they have officially admitted they are doing the 'fake' Sunday show (filmed tonight, shown tomorrow, like Strictly have doen for years), but it certainly looks that way. CheapskatesAngryGrin

ssd it's like a an early 'Now that's what i call the 80's' tape really. I have a particular loathing for 'Alone'. Heart used to make me want to throw things. Grin

Marking my place for later, although I bought tickets to see Bazza so I might not be welcome anymore!Wink

Raahh · 12/10/2013 15:52

We'll let you offGrin.

I keep hearing ads for his concerts, and I must admit I come over all nostalgic.

EXCUSE ME ssd 'I'm Your Man' is pure pop brilliance! I shall hunt them down if when they murder it.

Raahh · 12/10/2013 16:28

I love 'I'm your man'- unfortunately, memories of the Shane Ritchie version have ruined it forever.Grin

And the the combination of 'Alone' being sung by BadAdultCabaret Shelley means I have double the reason to hate it. I have no idea how Shelley got this far. She makes me cringe.

SuePurblybilt · 12/10/2013 17:41

I have NO idea who those people are. Can we merge it with The List So Far? Or at least a description?

Raahh · 12/10/2013 17:46

We do need a definitive names list, Sue.

Did you see the pictures of them all after they were photo shopped to death had their makeovers? I are not link to the SBOS, but the pictures were funny. Every single one of them appeared to have lost 2 stone.

OP posts:
Fuzzysnout · 12/10/2013 17:50

Agh, but is there an arena? Are any of them just sixteen?

More importantly will anyone give 110% to really nail it?

Raahh · 12/10/2013 17:52

Fuzzy I've no doubt they will give it their all, and make it their own, whilst owning the stage.

Like a Little Donnie Osmond, or something.

OP posts:
Raahh · 12/10/2013 17:57

I've just realised it is AbiTweeHat doing 'Living on a prayer'.

I can't stand Bon Jovi, but it's going to be very JL ad, isn't it?

In fact, there's a theme week right there- pick a well known rock type song- and make it twee- John Lewis Ad week.

Who was it did that terrible version of a Grease song last year? I remember it being very painful, but can't remember what it was.

OP posts:
Raahh · 12/10/2013 18:01

Dirge doesn't even come close to describing it.

OP posts:
SuePurblybilt · 12/10/2013 18:05

The JOhn LewIS Ads are my guilty pleasure, I secretly love them.
MN is being stupid slow for me, but I will merge The List So Far with the song list before kick off if I can

Raahh · 12/10/2013 18:07

I love the ads, but not all of the songs. Although I loved the Smiths cover that everyone else thought was sacrilege, and thought the advert was perfect.

OP posts:
SuePurblybilt · 12/10/2013 18:25

I liked the Smiths one in the end.

SuePurblybilt · 12/10/2013 18:42

OK - merged the NNs so far, or a description if we don't have a NN

Abi Alton (Fey Hipster) – Livin’ On A Prayer

Sam Bailey (Loose Screw) – Power of Love

Hannah Barrett (Gregg's Girl - did we decide on a name?) – What’s Love Got To Do With It

Sam Callahan (Smash Hits Centrefold type, no name yet)– Summer of ‘69

Tamera Foster (Dip Dyed one, no name yet)– Ain’t Nobody

Luke Friend (The Crood/Sideshow Bob/Soapdodger)– Every Breath You Take

Kingsland Road (That shower of gobshites. No name as yet)– I’m Your Man

Nicholas McDonald (Wee Chesne to me, don't think we decided on a name)/– True

Miss Dynamix (This year's Lidl Muffins. I have every confidence a name will suggest itself for them)– Jump

Rough Copy (Them with Visa Ishoos, back together again)– In The Air Tonight

Lorna Simpson (Yawn)– So Emotional

Shelley Smith (The Only MattLucas in the village, The Blonde Bombscare/White Van Woman. Take yer pick) Alone

And let us not forget they are in LIONEL RICHIE'S HOUSE. But cannot use the pool (blame him with the hair for that, I reckon)

Raahh · 12/10/2013 18:46

Good list, Sue !

OP posts:
SuePurblybilt · 12/10/2013 18:51

That may be the achievement of my working week
We're a bit thin on NNs for this time of year. Just goes to show how little we've seen. Apart from crying. We've seen some crying.

Raahh · 12/10/2013 19:11

Exactly- and we can't call them all CryingX, Weeping Y, can we?

I want Shelley to leave. And after that, I'm not fussed who winsGrin

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 12/10/2013 19:14

I thought Dip Dye was Hitman - due to 'cleaner'?

SayCoolNowSayWhip · 12/10/2013 19:15

And I liked the Smiths cover

that JL advert gave me tears

Raahh · 12/10/2013 19:20

ooh- yes- hitman!

I liked that one. (the name, not the contestantGrin)

OP posts:
LittleMissWise · 12/10/2013 19:20

I've just realised it is on for 2 and a quarter hours! I may not be able to stay awake that long!
