As promised, here is the shiny new live show thread.

Sadly, they have not provided us with a shiny new themeGrin

Song choices for this week are rumoured to be:

X Factor 2013 songlist – Week 1

Abi Alton – Livin’ On A Prayer

Sam Bailey – Power of Love

Hannah Barrett – What’s Love Got To Do With It

Sam Callahan – Summer of ‘69

Tamera Foster – Ain’t Nobody

Luke Friend – Every Breath You Take

Kingsland Road – I’m Your Man

Nicholas McDonald – True

Miss Dynamix – Jump

Rough Copy – In The Air Tonight

Lorna Simpson – So Emotional

Shelley Smith – Alone

So, basically it's 'The most obvious song choices from the 80's we could possibly have chosen' week. And Whitney.

I'm liking 'that shower of gobshites' for kings land road.

The fey hipster doing livin on a prayer is sure to be awful.

I'm glad I went to Aldi and bought wine and chocolate. I stopped off specially when I remembered it was the xfactor live misery tonight.

ArbitraryUsername · 12/10/2013 19:23

Shelley will be awful. I fear that some part of the demographic who actually phone within the 10 minutes might like mum cabaret though, and the rest of the demographic probably like that shower of gobshites.

Lighthousekeeping · 12/10/2013 19:27

Ain't Nobody is a classic! I love it. I would've liked to have seen them try and do I Feel for You live!

It's so shite. Why don't they cover some proper eighties music? Abit of Prince or Kraftwerk or summat? How many of us were seriously dancing to Living on a Prayer? Was that even the 80's?

Raahh · 12/10/2013 19:29

Arbitrary-you are probably right. Sad

She still looked like Lily Savage's mother, too, even after her 'makeover'

awaits flaming cos she is a mummeeee and probably lovely etc

One of my friends was a big Bon Jovi fan in high school, but not in 1986. We were all listening to agadoo and other children's party classics in 1986 (I was only 5 for most of the year).

Raahh · 12/10/2013 19:32

Arbitrary-I was 14/15 ShockGrin

Well, I for one won't flame you! Grin

I think agadoo would be a great choice for 80's week.

LemonMousse · 12/10/2013 19:34

Marking my place - I do love a good 'MN does Xfaxtor' thread.

DH is very Hmm 'Do we have to watch this shite if you're on t'internet at the same time?' so I don't get to contribute much Sad

SuePurblybilt · 12/10/2013 19:34

Yes, there were two DipDyed laydees. That was a description rather than a NN, cos her pic on the XF site has a DD job. Same with 'shower of gobshites' - I was just aiding the memory for y'all.

I LOVED Bon Jovi

Raahh · 12/10/2013 19:34

The Hits of Black Lace would be a good theme. Except I only know Agadoo and Superman (can do all the actionsGrin)

OP posts:
Raahh · 12/10/2013 19:36

lemon -have you explained that being on the 'internet is what gets us through it? Grin It's like a therapy session.

OP posts:
ArbitraryUsername · 12/10/2013 19:38

I'd be fine with half of them doing agadoo and the other half tackling superman. Not as a voice style group sing though.

ArbitraryUsername · 12/10/2013 19:39

Before I posted on these threads while watching xfactor, I would read bit out to DH. He told me I should just talk to you lot (and he'd go and play videogames instead).

SuePurblybilt · 12/10/2013 19:39

I was Quite The Hit at a Yr1 Disco for knowing all the actions to both, Raah Grin

Is it time for the annual 'Better Theme Weeks' bit?

LemonMousse · 12/10/2013 19:40

I need to have a chat with him about that Raahh he just doesn't get it - can't appreciate the multi tasking - it's either 'telly' or 'looking at motorbikes on ebay' - there is no in between Wink

ArbitraryUsername · 12/10/2013 19:42

Actually we've forgotten so many black lace classics.

Wig wam bam
Do the conga
The hokey cokey
The birdie song
I am the music man

There's enough there for a whole black lace theme slightly later in the show when there are only 7 of the buggers left.

LittleMissWise · 12/10/2013 19:42

Yr1 Sue! Shock I was Yr6 or 7 iirc.

The bloke from Agadoo was on one of those shite daytime shows where they judge each other's houses!

Raahh · 12/10/2013 19:42

Lemon -fortunately my Dh does get it. Many years ago he coined the phrase 'blogging with the bitches'. Which sums it up Grin

Sue - I'm now showing dd1 the actions to Superman.

'swim' 'brush your hair''skiiiiiiiiiii'

She thinks I've lost the plot.HmmGrin

OP posts:
Raahh · 12/10/2013 19:43

Yep - the annual 'where is death metal week?' suggestions are neededGrin

Lorelilee · 12/10/2013 19:44

Hopefully, nickname allocation will become easier when we see their first performances...

SuePurblybilt · 12/10/2013 19:44

Jakers, littlemiss, how old do you think I am? Grin. I meant I was at a disco last year Grin

Raahh · 12/10/2013 19:45

Arbitrary-I'd love someone to do the Conga. Shitsinger would explode because she wouldn't have a clue what was going onGrin

OP posts:
ArbitraryUsername · 12/10/2013 19:45

Black lace also released the aptly titled (for xfactor) bullshit. Apparently it's a version of cotton eyed joe.

LittleMissWise · 12/10/2013 19:45

I've just Googled Black Lace, who I obviously meant up there ^^, Jane McDonald was one of their hired dancers! Grin She kept that quiet!

SuePurblybilt · 12/10/2013 19:45

That 'I am the music man' twaddle. FFS.
You'd think it didn't have the capacity to be made worse, until you hear it sung by playleaders at a toddler group.
