This is a thread for all fans of the daytime soap 'Doctors', BBC1, 1.45pm.

If you like a world more WTF than Willy Wonkas, you're in the right place. Please join in whether you are a regular, a newbie or a lurker. It's good fun Grin. Doctors brings us Austen week next week. Doctors and Austen? How?

Yay, thank you MsN!

Raahh · 10/10/2013 12:45

Yay!!!

it fits in nicely with my week, MsN- as spent waaaay too long looking for licture of Augustus Gloop on the net,so dd1 could make a model of the tunnel he gets stuck in.

Their topic this term is chocolate i.e - a small amount about the Aztecs, lots of excuse to eat rubbish, culminating in a class trip to the Cadbury factoryGrin.

So- a question- Wilder or Depp?

Grin
Raahh · 10/10/2013 12:46

licture ?? picture!

curlyclaz13 · 10/10/2013 12:46

Ooh I would love a Charlie and the chocolate factory theme ! Won't be live today as at 'tits and tea' as OH'S uncle called it ! except we can't have tea as no hot drinks

curlyclaz13 · 10/10/2013 12:48

Oh and Depp, wilder seems too creepy and it doesn't follow the book. This is my level of literature.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 10/10/2013 12:57

I'll have one of whatever MsN is drinking!

Definitely Wilder. Depp looks like the woman who sang "Stay With Me" from Shakespear's Sister in that film.

DD likes going to Cadbury World. I've never been. DD says she wants to go with me next time. This is purely and simply calculated on the fact that as I don't like chocolate she will get to have all the freebies!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 10/10/2013 12:59

Oh, meant to say, lovely new thread, MsN. Should last us a week!

Raahh · 10/10/2013 13:11

I grew up with the Wilder version, and although I love Depp, I really didn't like his version. And all the extra bits about Wonka's dadHmm.

The Wilder film is sooooo 70's, but I love it. We were only watching it the other day, (dd1's homework, honest, Grin).

DD2 has this week learnt the word 'nincompoop' thanks to the Augustus connection, and uses it regularly. Grin

A Dahl week on Doctors would be cool. Zara is a bit of a Verruca Salt. Al would be Augustus,(obviously)Grin Although, TBFE's binge eating may give him a run for his money. Grin

HoggyTruffle · 10/10/2013 13:29

Lovely thread MsN. I'll do my best to fill it quicker than the last one Grin.

"Tits and tea" Curly. I thought I had strayed onto the penis beaker thread. Confused

Definitely Wilder.

MsNobodyAgain · 10/10/2013 13:32

Wilder, obviously. I watch this film about once a month, point out to the DCs how the Oompah Lumpas are all individual, not computer generated and I sing all the songs Grin

I love Violet Beauregarde when she chews the gum and has to be rolled to the juicing room. "Violet....you're turning violet, Violet!"

madhairday · 10/10/2013 13:40

Wilder for me :) I would love a Doctors Chocolate theme!

Thanks for shiny new thread, MsN. I'm watching live again today due to still being stranded on sofa with chest infection. Thank goodness MN is not so broken today or invaded by penisbeaker voyeurs Hmm

What's coming up today then?

Can't wait for Austen week

Raahh · 10/10/2013 13:43

yy-to the cloned cgi Oompah Loompas.

I had a book when i was little, which showed how to put on CATCF as a school production, had all the script and song lyrics- and tips on how to make staging out of cardboard boxes. I wish I still had it. I vividly remember buying it through the 'Puffin Club' at schoolGrin

dd2 has nodded off. I may get to watch live.

Of course, the pay off is having to rush to get ready for the school run, but I can live with that today. Although I have to go to a secondary open day later.

Raahh · 10/10/2013 13:44

mad- I think we still have to get through the 'feeder' storyline, which is a bit grim, and making me want to slap all involvedAngry

AnneEyhtMeyer · 10/10/2013 13:47

Here we go.

That girl is being kept a prisoner.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 10/10/2013 13:47

God, the nurses (apart from Tash, obviously) are a pair of miseries.

MsNobodyAgain · 10/10/2013 13:49

I know it's been said but that is the worst fat suit ever. It's like a Guy Fawkes thing that get pushed round in a wheelbarrow - penny for the guy Mrs? No piss orf

OP posts:
Raahh · 10/10/2013 13:49

I feel sorry for Jess.

And blimey, they really are shoe-horning Austen into everything, aren't they?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 10/10/2013 13:50

I know, MsN, it has a hollow where the boobs would be.

HoggyTruffle · 10/10/2013 13:50

200 year old twaddle written by a frustrated spinster Grin

MsNobodyAgain · 10/10/2013 13:50

Arf at Heston reading Closer.

OP posts:
Raahh · 10/10/2013 13:50

Oh, MsN- the penny for a guy fat suit is spot on. Old tights stuffed with paper and highly flammableGrin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 10/10/2013 13:51

Heston would never read Closer magazine, FFS. And Heston would definitely have read all of Austen.

Raahh · 10/10/2013 13:52

'Orson Welles'

Grin
Raahh · 10/10/2013 13:53

She's a lying cow.

For once, taking the poor girl away from Grantley's dead wife would be a good thing.

madhairday · 10/10/2013 13:54

The fat suit is hilariously obvious.

Mum doesn't want Jess to lose weight or get better does she :(
