X FACTOR- 5/6th October- The Judges' Houses rounds!

Raahh · 05/10/2013 14:07

So- we are already at the judges' houses bit- which seems to have come around very quickly. It's also not as much fun without all the agonising over who goes into which category/who mentors who bit, which was a bit glossed over.

Tonight (Saturday)it's 'The Overs' and The Boys

Here are the song choices-

OVERS

The overs perform for mentor Sharon and guest judge Robbie Williams in LA

SAM BAILEY – I Have Nothing – Whitney Houston
LORNA SIMPSON – If I Were a Boy – Beyonce.
SHELLEY SMITH – Girl on Fire – Alicia Keys.
ZOE DEVLIN – Fix You – Coldplay.
ANDREA MAGEE – High and Dry – Radiohead.
JOSEPH WHELAN- I’ll Stand by You – The Pretenders

BOYS

The boys perform for mentor Louis and guest judges Westlife’s Shane Filan, All Saints’ Nicole Appleton and the Sinitta in San Tropez

LUKE FRIEND- Cannonball – Damien Rice
SAM CALLAHAN- We are Young – FUN.
PAUL AKISTER – Last Request – Paulo Nutini.
GILES POTTER – You’re Beautiful – James Blunt.
RYAN MATHIE – Just Give me a Reason – Pink.
NICHOLAS MCDONALD- If You’re Not the One – Daniel Beddingfield.

Louis, bless him seems to have roped in everyone he has ever met. And has ventured out of Ireland!

And why is Robbie helping Shazza, not Bazza?

Giles is a gonnaGrin- he's singing the X Factor song of Doom. No-one who has ever sung it has done well.

And Whitney Bloody Houston. Just, why?????

I have pizza and wine.
Wine

Definitely looks like they want to get rid of Giles. I hate all these obvious songs from the Hit Parade, bar one or two. Let's have a little originality, or would that be truly dangerous?! Grin

Raahh · 05/10/2013 14:34

Davros- they like to play it safeGrin

And I'm sticking with my theory Houston songs must be cheap for them to obtain the performing rights for.Grin

I think, out of the whole list, the only interesting choice is'High and Dry' by Radiohead.

HotDogWater · 05/10/2013 14:36

Good lord the songs are horrendous!!

LittleMissWise · 05/10/2013 16:46

It's just as well Sinitta hadn't sold her story about Mingehead to the Sun back then, she'd have been at home not in St Tropez!

Dillydollydaydream · 05/10/2013 16:47

I'm actually looking forward to X factor. Dh and are having Indian and booze in front of TV Grin

Davros · 05/10/2013 16:47

Houston songs were not written by her though were they? So the royalties situation must depend on the "status" of the writer which must be different for almost every song

Raahh · 05/10/2013 17:01

I know Davros- it's just made me Smile how many times they've sung Whitney songs this year.Grin

I suppose it makes a change from Adele

who will probably feature tomorrowGrin

MyMotherHadMeTested · 05/10/2013 17:23

So will we find out who's through tonight, or will they spin it out for a few more weeks?

Raahh · 05/10/2013 17:31

my- I'm not sure. I haven't the foggiest how they are doing it this year. But all the interim rounds seem a bit rushed- I don't know whether there will be more live rounds than normal.

OP posts:
godblessthebrokenroad · 05/10/2013 18:47

I have opened the wine. Cheering on Nicholas. Don't f* this up, Louis!

SuePurblybilt · 05/10/2013 19:01

WHAT? Why are we not in Limerick? The fake-pleased faces at the airport when they see the Air Lingus plane is my fave bit.
Why The Sinitta? Why Apeface with Shazza at her House of Tiny Shitty Dogs?
This is all too confusing.

Raahh · 05/10/2013 19:05

Sue- they are messing with us, this series. That's for sure. Grin

At least Louis hasn't let us down, in that he has one of his little Westshoite boys involved.

OP posts:
SuePurblybilt · 05/10/2013 19:06

Gots to have the Westshoites, it matters not which one. They all look like a spud in a leather jacket in any case.

Raahh · 05/10/2013 19:07

I will miss the 'And your mentor is......Louis Walsh!' bit too.

No way does Louis have a house in St Tropez. Although most of the contestants are covered in the stuff Grin

OP posts:
BOF · 05/10/2013 19:09

Shane Filan? The dutty bastard Wink

(I'm only mentioning that for Sue)

SuePurblybilt · 05/10/2013 19:09

Lots of Adele and Emilie tomorrow, I predict.

I am pleased that all the 'houses' are In Forrin though. The sunburn/ British inability to dress in the heat is always good value

SuePurblybilt · 05/10/2013 19:10

Oooo, Bof (my lovely donator of Fine Art)

What do we know about Shane Westshoite?

Raahh · 05/10/2013 19:10

You'd have thought he'd have taken Bankrupt Westshoite (are all late 90's pop acts bankrupt these days?), to give him some cash.

And I hate 'Fix you'. Probably because it is usually accompanied by films of homeless guinea pigs and other such mawkish rubbish.

OP posts:
Raahh · 05/10/2013 19:12

Oh yes- I predict many a too-short dress/shorts combo and white cellulite thighs on show. And that will just be Louis.

OP posts:
LittleMissWise · 05/10/2013 19:30

Yesterday, on ThisMorning, they said on the live shows there is going to be 10 minutes to vote on a Saturday night. The contestants will find out who is in the bottom 2 and know they will have to song on the Sunday.

It's gonna be a bit shit if it is!

Raahh · 05/10/2013 19:35

Does that mean there is actually the possibility the Sunday show will really be 'fake' live like Strictly? I hope not. But the very short voting window suggests that.

OP posts:
LittleMissWise · 05/10/2013 19:36

I never thought of that Raah, makes sense that does. They are gonna be ripping us off!

And I won't be able to not look on Digital Spy, either! Angry.

SuePurblybilt · 05/10/2013 19:38

I am finding it very hard indeed to care about any of this.
Bring back Wanger as a judge and I may perk up

BOF · 05/10/2013 19:38

Give us a flash, Sue- let me bask in PALFK Grin

Raahh · 05/10/2013 19:39

It's all about the money (money, money...Grin).

It's a wonder they have gone on so long without the fake Sunday show, really. Although I'm sure, way back in the midsts of time, the whole thing happened on a Saturday, and there was no Sunday filled with rubbish guests and group cabaret show.
