Anna wouldn't want to tell Bates, the shame of it (in that society), I think he may find out accidentally but she won't tell him.

Well, of course they're not going to be explicit, people would take it for a "spoiler" if they said there was going to specifically be a rape in the programme.

I agree, it was the screaming that made me think of other women, and men, who've gone through that horror. Really, it was quite effectively done, having just the audio. Very chilling.

Screaming mixed in with the aria very clever from a production POV but rather horrible.
