This is a thread for all fans of the weekday soap 'Doctors', BBC1, 1.45pm.

Right, now the stalker storyline is out of the way, I think it's time to channel our inner Howard and whip this programme into shape:

  1. Every opportunity must be taken to get TBFE in his fishing or army gear and get him all ruffly haired.
  1. Heston must stop messing about with restaurant reviews (and that reptilian Emma) and realise his love for Mrs T.
  1. Mrs T should wear her flirty wig (see note 2).
  1. Zara will continue to master acting purely by moving her eyebrows and saying "really?".
  1. The Gobbys will appear in as many episodes as possible to add comedy value.

So line up troops and let's march into the world of WTF!

Everyone is welcome, newbies, regulars and even cast members (arf).

Gawd, this storyline is absolute shit, isn't it?

AlphaBetaOoda · 12/09/2013 14:12

When the gangster-pompous scientist-from eastenders asked if TBFE was a squaddie I expected him to say 'no I'm a practice manager'

HoggyTruffle · 12/09/2013 14:12

Tomorrow looks a bit better...

AlphaBetaOoda · 12/09/2013 14:13

I doubly agree morgause Grin

Anyone also watch Holby or Waterloo road? I need a similar thread for them. Casualty has improved slightly.

bellabelly · 12/09/2013 14:14

Thank goodness for that, HoggyTruffle! Grin

bellabelly · 12/09/2013 14:14

Ooh, I do like Waterloo Road. That is always very WTF, isn't it?

Morgause · 12/09/2013 14:18

I've given up on Holby and Casualty.

I try to catch Doctors every day, if I can, it's my only soap addiction now.

But sometimes I wonder why.

Raahh · 12/09/2013 14:22

humph. i missed today. I may, or may not, bother to catch up. Just skip to tomorrowGrin

I love Holby- which reminds me, I need to catch up with Tuesday (watched GBBO live instead).

'Waterloo Road' used to be one of my big shit telly guilty pleasures- then they moved to Scotland and it got totally ridiculous, and far-fetched (well, even more soGrin) and I gave up. Plus, its always moving around the schedules.

need to get organised- I've already been back to school once, as ds had a headache and they wanted me to give him calpol. Good thing I have a car, and am not that far away!I can't face going out again, is chaos round here whilst they build new tram lines. For the next 3 years

MsNobodyAgain · 12/09/2013 14:31

You had to drive to school to give Calpol? Ffs. Worlds gone mad.

I was late watching. Got 10 minutes in and gave up. Dire. A distinct lack of Mrs T as well. That always puts me in a bad mood.

Our tram lines are nearly finished. Keep seeing trams testing the line. The DCs are fascinated even though we rode on several packed to the rafters trams recently in Blackpool.

Waste of money when a train is cheaper and takes less time imho.

OP posts:
leezl · 12/09/2013 15:18

Alpha SAME!! "No, I'm a farmhand turned practice manager"

leezl · 12/09/2013 15:20

And I love Holby and Casualty. And any medical programme going. Eek.

Raahh · 12/09/2013 16:44

MsN- my point exactly, re the trains. I live 1.5 miles from the airport- and a train station. And another station, half a mile away, which is a direct route to Manchester city centre for £2.40 return, in 10 minutes. The only good thing about the bloody things here is it is providing jobs for the 5 years it will have taken to do it.

wishes they'd done the whole job 20 years ago, when it wouldn't have affected me

Grin

And yes- i had to go into school to give him calpol. Lucky I wasn't swanning around Asda out really, isn't it?Grin

toldmywrath · 12/09/2013 18:25

I'm from the south east too. Last Thurs was the multiple car pile up (130+ cars) on the Sheppey bridge in the fog-was all over the local news. I do not live on or near the Isle of Sheppey, but I've driven over the bridge a few times-it's like driving up to the sky. Now I like the Severn Bridge & the Forth Bridge, but I get scared driving over the Dartford crossing bridge.
No idea why I've typed all that! Does anyone have a favorite bridge or tunnel?
I was driving across the Highlands in May & drove over a proper hump back bridge on the way to Braemar (your car bonnet went up & it was very surreal)

toldmywrath · 12/09/2013 18:28

Very spooky-as I was obsessing typing all that my DS started talking about the Oresund bridge (the one from Denmark to Sweden)

ClayDavis · 12/09/2013 18:30

Love Holby and Casualty as well.

Is it worth watching today's? Watched the first 2 parts not sure I can be bothered to watch the third.

curlyclaz13 · 12/09/2013 18:57

Missed today's as I was out and it wasn't on catch up before pointless Grin might watch tomorrow as I have two deliveries due.

MsNobodyAgain · 12/09/2013 19:09

clay I am a great fan of Doctors as you know but even I couldn't sit through more than 10 mins today.

told I saw that on the news. Proper scary. I don't like tunnels, or bridges. They freak me out slightly as they go over or through stuff. You wouldn't get me in the Channel Tunnel for love nor money.

In a train.
In a tunnel.
UNDER THE SEA!

I'd be clawing at the doors 2 minutes into the journey Grin

ClayDavis · 12/09/2013 19:41

That's what I was thinking MrsN. I was losing interest after about 10 mins of yesterday's. I'm looking at today's on iplayer and thinking I just can't be bothered with a third part of this story.

toldmywrath · 12/09/2013 20:17

MsNo I've been through the channel tunnel-wouldn't like to do it again, as I'm slightly claustrophobic. I didn't enjoy this three parter at all-too dark & made for uncomfortable viewing. I much prefer WTFness.
I love Holby, but haven't watched Casualty for years.

AlphaBetaOoda · 12/09/2013 21:08

Found a Holby thread and trying to motivate it, started a WTF Waterloo Road one.

leezl · 12/09/2013 21:49

Toldmywrath I'VE BEEN OVER THAT BRIDGE!!!

leezl · 12/09/2013 21:49

Oops got overexcited - the Braemar one I meant Grin

cinnamongreyhound · 13/09/2013 01:21

Watched today's live but was putting shopping away and cake baking for ds2's 3rd Shock birthday so really couldn't mn too!

Was a bit violent for my liking! Tbfe is such a man, beaten until unconscious but soon up and rushing to the hospital to save the day with a slightly purple corner of his mouth!

Hmmmm so more doubts over Zara's parenting tomorrow Confused and loving hestons comment to Al 'all water under the bridge'!

I have an irrational fear of bridges :(

cinnamongreyhound · 13/09/2013 01:23

And I love casualty but dh doesn't so rarely watch it and can't stand holby or Waterloo road but they are more of my mums regular viewing!
