Hello
We've received a few reports about posts on this thread, so we wanted to clarify our position on a couple of things.
First off, as we hope you all know, disablism is against our Talk Guidelines. We will delete such posts when they are reported to us. This includes posts that question the veracity of a person's diagnosis.
However, there are quite a few more posts on here that, while not questioning the truth of Lauren's dyspraxia diagnosis, do question whether she is exaggerating its effects for the benefit of the audience.
Having had a good read through, we think that these posts don't fall foul of our disablism policy. It is in the nature of programmes like CBB, after all, to encourage the audience to feel strongly about the personalities of the people in the house, and to invite speculation about their personal motives and traits - above and beyond their medical diagnoses. We think that most of the posts about Lauren's dyspraxia are doing this - discussing her possible motivation and personality, and how it might interact with her diagnosis - rather than being disparaging about her disability in itself.
As ever, though, we would appreciate it if posters could be sensitive when posting, and consider before pressing 'post' whether their post could be interpreted in a disablist light.
Do please also have a look at our This Is My Child myth-busting campaign, particularly Myth 6.
Thanks - and please don't hesitate to report anything you think we ought to look at.
