Thought i would start a thread for last episode and all our musings

will we find out the secret of the town/dam/les revs - or will we need to wait till 2nd series ..............

I'm very confused.

Next November?!? No I can't wait that long. Glad I taped it all now, will have to periodically rewatch so I can remember for when it returns :)

They just said it will return next year. What a final episode!

November is too long to wait.

This series will most likely be repeated just before series two starts so we will have to watch it all over again

Found that rather emotional can't wait till next year!

Also... I can get it if only those that drowned in the original flood came back to reflood the place again but what us the point of the others who died in different circs coming back?

I'm confused by the building.

Is that the new town underwater, or the old town coming into view as the lake gets lower?

The new town is still there. That's the old village where the dam has receeded. Think all they had view wise before was the water in the dam.

The boxset is out in the autumn, apparently - I will need it to recap before series II

They are filming the next series in Feb and March 2014 - to be screened in November according to the tinterwebs

It's gong to be very snowy in Feb and March to be filming up at Tignes.

I'd told dd we're not skiing next year but I'm tempted to go now to see if we can see them filming!

That policeman, Thomas?, has great legs.

Why do we think some of the Returned were more like traditional zombies - ie flesh rotting away?

As for why they didn't want Toni, Serge et mere - well who the hell would want that disfunctional family around

Ah pressed post too soon. I wondered if the rotten flesh was a sign of the zombies who had no-one to come back to or who felt unwelcome?

Also wondered if there was a bit of a "Mother Mary" riff about the whole thing? The role of mothers - either real or adopted - was very prevalent the whole way through. And wouldn't Victor's mum be among the horde?

We still don't know how Simon died and also why was he so angry all the time? He was really aggressive, so I think there's more to come with his and Adele's relationship.

Totally baffled.

So....we don't know why they're back or what they want... But can someone please confirm, a load of people died when the dam burst (and after the dam burst and people died, the remains of the village was submerged to make the reservoir) and since then other people have also died (victor/burglary, Simon/suicide, Camille/coach) etc etc but they have also 'returned ' too.....?

So there is no known connection still between the dam, the newer deceased and why anyone is actually back?

And that nasty costa lady said 'they'll get their revenge' outside the mortuary tent (so I get that, and possible 'revenge' zombie motives) but don't get the unrelated return of the others who died much later....?

Can anybody explain it to me? DP is sure that the town is their own, flooded, because of the tower blocks.

According to Wiki it is their new town, flooded.
