Will it be a sweet ending for Louisa or will Leah's dreams be filler-filled?

I agree with Emma - it is a look that a lot of young girls seem to aspire to. You only have to spend a short time in a shopping centre to see late teens / 20s with big block eyebrows, inches of slap and big hair.

It's not a look that I like.

I'm still reeling at norniron's response to Lorraine that her driver for starting the business is to protect vulnerable young girls from the unscrupulous...really!!

Well i didnt like either business plan. I just cant believe it that they leave it to the end to tell what their plans are. Surely it destroys the whole process. It then doesnt become about their talent but about their plan. Te guy that lied [ cant remember his name but he had other partners] what a complete waste that was. Someone could have taken his place. Seriously flawed process. Its not about their ability at the end its about their business plan?? Just seems silly to me.

SwedishEdith · 17/07/2013 23:12

Leah's mother looked more youthful than Leah - her face, at least, actually moved

Pixiepie · 17/07/2013 23:15

Yeah leah looked fake.

Hmm, watched this earlier on delay and just thought I'd take a look at the thread. Feeling slightly disappointed at the amount of sneeriness and bitching about Leah's appearance.

katieks · 18/07/2013 01:37

She had a company before apprentice?? See www.londonderrysentinel.co.uk/news/local-woman-s-cosmetic-medicine-company-expands-1-4820044

The article mentioned above was from Feb 2013

I had to watch on iplayer. I am totally horrified that Leah won. The market already has excellent doctor - run practices where the founders still treat their clients. There was no need for this. It is mass produced, terrifying promotion on BBC prime time TV of a service which, if you want it, you will find it. The industry needs regulating but the fact Leah's brain was devoid of this throughout until 'you're hired' means this wasn't even her consideration, rather she spoke of nurse practitioners, and not doing the procedures herself. It saddens me that so many people will now deem this to be normalised - it's fine to choose it yourself, sure, but to fund this with licence payer money to advertise and promote it, makes me feel really sick actually. I am ashamed to be a medic if we churn out plastic fake money obsessed wannabe barbie clones, the type who go to medical school to make themselves look good not to help people. I am not happy at all with the result. Her face is also overfilled, even her cheeks. Scary.

cafecito · 18/07/2013 02:14

Luisa is a more driven business woman, a much more genuine character I felt, someone to fill a real hole in the market. I am disappointed. If I were on the apprentice in a medical capacity I would want to fund a safety device or something of utility- this is just very depressing.

It was a disappointing result. I still can't believe he picked someone who wears so much lip-gloss that it looked like spunk. Bleurgh.

Chubfuddler · 18/07/2013 08:24

It warrants discussion but only so we can ensure we articulate the right messages to our daughters (and our sons). I mean look at Jordan - yes she's a successful loaded business woman. Would I want my daughter to follow a similar path? Hell no.

maybemyrtle · 18/07/2013 08:24

It costs the NHS far more than £250k to train a doctor for 7 years. What an absolute waste of money.

Chubfuddler · 18/07/2013 08:25

I mean does anyone seriously think that Luisa and Leah are role models that young women are likely to want to emulate? I don't know any girls in their late teens/early twenties who doll themselves up in such a plastic way.

FriendofDorothy · 18/07/2013 08:36

This series of The Apprentice seems particularly bad for this Barbie-doll woman thhing. Previous series have seen much quirkier contestants like the one who worse the berets all the time and Ruth Badger.

Judith woods in the telegraph this morning has SO been reading these threads. She even calls her Norn Iron.

Chubfuddler · 18/07/2013 08:46

And apparently Norn Iron is a bit horrified by her pouty face staring on the show and hadn't realised how she was coming across. So it's sad if she felt she had to be like that to win the show, but hopefully she isn't really like that.

mrslyman · 18/07/2013 09:18

Fair enough to comment that you don't like her look, but it's the whole dismissal of anything else that these women have to offer on the basis that they apparently choose a 'barbie doll' look that irks me.
