Shock

This is a thread for all fans of the weekday soap Doctors, BBC1, 1.45pm. However, it's taking its annual break from 21st June until it returns on 22nd July.

Therefore, us fans are waiting patiently in the virtual waiting room.

  • Mrs T is rearrrrrrrrrrranging the leaflets
  • Zaniel are getting frisky in the cupboard (again)
  • Al is spying on Jas eating her lunch (disclaimer: he may fancy the lunch more than Jas)

So regulars please sign in and take a seat. Newbies very welcome indeed as we plan to keep the thread going by talking drivel throughout the break. 'Tis fun Grin

I have a 5ft paddling pool (man in Argos said they were like gold dust).

I am the best mother in the world according to the DCs. Grin

Any news on Kate yet? It is getting too close for comfort.

Anne I hope you're wrong about the Royal Birthday-what a shame for us

Doctorians if we have to miss another week/day of BBC's premier crap programme.
You'll need that paddling pool in this heat, at least we're getting a little respite down south today (lovely breeze & only 25C) MsNo

HoggyTruffle · 19/07/2013 21:49

After a few weeks cold turkey with no Doctors I'm wondering if I can give up watching Shock. This thread is more still fun without the TV show.

I could get DD interested in watching during the summer hols as she is always trying to stay up and watch Casualty for "the blood". I'm not sure Doctors delivers on the gore quota.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 19/07/2013 21:58

Wash your mouth out with soap, Hoggy! Shock

We'll have none of that treacherous talk here! Shock

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 19/07/2013 22:25

I've got another two weeks without it as we go away on Sunday, I have to say the thread has been at least as entertaining as it is when the programme is actually on!

Might miss the royal arrival as well at this rate . Anne I do hope your prediction is wrong.

Told yes, I actually got chilly sitting out tonight such was the breeze.

Anyway, good news from me - we made our 6th and final visit to the fracture clinic today (they all know DS now) and he is finally without a cast and has two impressive pin scars to show off.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 19/07/2013 22:43

Great news about DS, Who! Smile

What bad timing for your holiday! Will you be checking in to the thread while you're away?

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 19/07/2013 22:50

Probably not, going abroad so high roaming charges etc. If I was in this country of course I would. I will need a detailed recap upon my return.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 19/07/2013 22:57

Oh don't worry, we'll get you back up to speed! Grin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 20/07/2013 18:24

Where is the bloody baby?? My prediction is going to come true at this rate.

I blame MsN for buying bunting.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 20/07/2013 18:31

Anyone else sad to see the news about the death of Mel Smith? I was a huge fan of Not the Nine O'Clock News, real groundbreaking comedy.

Raahh · 20/07/2013 18:44

Anne- maybe it's a Sunset Beach stylee fake pregnancy.

I loved Sunset Beach- the absolute king of WTF TV.

and YY- very sad to hear about Mel Smith.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 20/07/2013 19:05

She is so inconsiderate to keep us waiting so long. (Ignores the fact that DD was 14 days late).

Hadn't considered it may be a fake pregnancy, Raahh. Shock Maybe it started that way and she has managed to get pregnant since and it will arrive in time for Christmas?

Yes Who, very sad about Mel Smith. I didn't know he was ill so was shocked to hear the news. I loved watching Alas Smith and Jones and Not the Nine O'Clock News when I was younger. Feel like a bit of my adolescence has gone. What a legacy, though - he made so many people laugh.

cinnamongreyhound · 20/07/2013 20:10

I agree about last summer being 2006, I had ds1 April 2007 and was on ml the whole summer it was rubbish! Started childminding March 2008 so since then could have been outside every day and not been able to!!! Ds2 was born in Sept and it was hot, fan in my room broken and they windows didn't open.

Glad to hear you ds is all better now whoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes! And I hadn't heard about Mel Smith that's :(

As someone who has gone two weeks overdue with both babies I feel for Kate!! Got fed up of the 'have you had it yet' and 'still no baby then' comments and I only had a few friends and family waiting not the entire nation and probably a lot of the world!! No wonder they didn't want to give a due date. Reckon it will be a girl.

HoggyTruffle · 20/07/2013 21:40

Kate probably can't wait to get little HRH out. It's not much fun being pregnant in the hot weather.

I am exhausted after a day of DIY. DD is sound asleep in her new mid sleeper bed and no big crashes yet so it is still standing. I screwed up big time only made a few errors and I remember why I hate flat pack instructions it was easy really. The only problem is the toy mountain has to be moved back in before DS returns from cub camp. Anyone own a skip?

MsNobodyAgain · 20/07/2013 22:05

Anne I do seem to have jinxed it with my bunting. Sorry. But it's vair posh, fabric and made in England. Kate would approve Grin

Who I was also very sad to hear about Mel Smith. That is no age to go. I used to love his comedy. What have we got these days? I can't think of a current comedy show I like.

Hoggy busy and slightly frustrating day then. I hate flatpack but I live up the road from a mahoosive Ikea so my house is flat pack city. I have had to hire quite a few skips over the last few years to deal with ex's rubbish and the multitude of toys that were too wrecked to freecycle.

I spent today gardening. Spent a fortune at the garden centre but re-planted all my pots and did a new hanging basket. I keep looking out of the window to enjoy the colours [saddo]

Not long now til the big event-tomorrow at 1.45pm! (no not the other big HRH event) Grin

Raahh · 21/07/2013 15:56

Yay!! the return of Doctors.

It feels like agesGrin

It's much cloudier today, and looks like it might rain. I am actually very relieved, as none of us have many summer clothes, - will be glad to dig out the jeans, at least I can wear the same pair every day without anyone really noticingGrin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 21/07/2013 15:59

Raining here.

If Kate is going to go into labour tomorrow I hope she waits until 2.15pm before heading to the hospital.

MsNobodyAgain · 21/07/2013 16:31

It's all gonna go pear shaped. She's doing it deliberately now over dramatic statement

I was glad to put my jeans back on too instead of my linen trousers of which I only have 2 pairs. Bugger to iron as well.

Well, we did it! We talked about anything and everything for 4 whole weeks Grin and Thanks ladies.

Raahh · 21/07/2013 16:37

MsNo Thanks

we deserve medals. Grin

(mind you, I'm also managing to talk drivel on a tennis thread, 2 weeks after Wimbledon ended. Am becoming an expert) Grin

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 21/07/2013 16:55

I've been talking drivel on a thread about housekeeping for 3.5 years and my house is still a tip.

Just sailing out of Southampton on a very, very big ship.

MsNobodyAgain · 21/07/2013 16:56

You're cheating on us Raahh Shock

There are threads other than this one? Who knew? Wink
