Shock

This is a thread for all fans of the weekday soap Doctors, BBC1, 1.45pm. However, it's taking its annual break from 21st June until it returns on 22nd July.

Therefore, us fans are waiting patiently in the virtual waiting room.

  • Mrs T is rearrrrrrrrrrranging the leaflets
  • Zaniel are getting frisky in the cupboard (again)
  • Al is spying on Jas eating her lunch (disclaimer: he may fancy the lunch more than Jas)

So regulars please sign in and take a seat. Newbies very welcome indeed as we plan to keep the thread going by talking drivel throughout the break. 'Tis fun Grin

Please please please let TBFE be involved. I really want to see him in breeches. Tight ones.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 16/07/2013 23:16

Someone I can't think who has posted on the WM Today FB page asking them to post the clip.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 17/07/2013 07:48

Oh, what a kind stranger that person is, Who.

Raahh · 17/07/2013 10:16

I am soooo looking forward to Austen week- will be as wtf as Dickens week was.

Poor Barry and his yellow trousersGrin

Grin

Raahh · 17/07/2013 10:19

I found the clip!

Raahh · 17/07/2013 10:24

Zara looked a bit odd, without tons of eye make up. Heston looked great- wtf was going on with Daniel's hair? Grin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 17/07/2013 11:13

Where did you find it Raahh??? SHARE IT!!!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 17/07/2013 11:27

Ok, I see the link is on Facebook : www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b036z2kh/Midlands_Today_16_07_2013/

My stupid laptop won't let me see it though (Flash makes it grind to a halt) so going to try it on the tablet.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 17/07/2013 11:31

Oh no! Now it is saying "Programme Unavailable". I want to cry.

Raahh · 17/07/2013 12:50

Nooooo! Anne- that's rubbish!

I have to go to the school sport's day at 1.30, so it's a good thing Doctors isn't on.Grin

It is much too hot to hang around outside for 2 hours. Fortunately, dh has the afternoon off,so we'll be going in 2 cars, so I can leave early if dd2 or I get fed upGrin

AnneEyhtMeyer · 17/07/2013 13:29

I just swapped browsers from Firefox to Chrome and I could see it! Yay!

Daniel looks very good.

I have to admit the best bit of it though was the clip of Colin Firth, though. He makes my heart leap as Mr Darcy. Must dig out my DVD...

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 17/07/2013 13:37

And there was me thinking we might have a problem keeping the thread going for 4 weeks without any episodes to discuss.........

toldmywrath · 17/07/2013 16:28

Just watched the Austen clip (link as above, thanks Anne & Raahh for bringing it to our attention-18mins in if anyone interested)
Zara has a lovely smile (we never get to see it in Doctors)
So, Autumn in Letherbridge will feature a massive heatwave!

Raahh · 17/07/2013 17:18

told -very true about Zara's smile, she spends so much time sneeringGrin

It's not long now until the next episode. It's been a long wait- though the Tennis helped fill the gap.

I am hot and bothered post sport-day. Grin

HoggyTruffle · 17/07/2013 21:01

Our school would have cancelled sports day on 'elf and safety grounds in this temperature!

For those of you still waiting patiently to get out the bunting for the royal birth, why not fill the time making your own royal baby

cinnamongreyhound · 17/07/2013 21:42

I couldn't make the link work :(

Been enjoying landgirls although I've missed a few. And ofah always makes me laugh even though I wouldn't choose to watch it.

I'm off for a cold shower after my run, dh is watching something rubbish on tv whilst watching videos on the laptop Confused

Raahh · 17/07/2013 21:49

GrinGrin@ print your own royal baby

MsNobodyAgain · 17/07/2013 22:08

Grin good one hoggy

Real life has interrupted my dedication to the thread. Shopping, appointments, lost teeth, 'fill the pool up', 'can we have a bigger pool', 'can I play out' DD by herself, unsupervised...over my cold dead body you can, bingo, getting house perfect for sisters visit (she makes Anthea Turner look like a slattern).

The last time I was in hospital she rearranged all my furniture Shock

Roll on Monday, 1.45. I'm knackered!

toldmywrath · 18/07/2013 07:57

Have you found the teeth yet MsNo ? This needs a Grin & a prayer to St Anthony.

MsNobodyAgain · 18/07/2013 08:30

It was stuck to a tissue, bleurgh! It was DDs first molar and her friend told her the Tooth Fairy is me Sad.

Dd said Santa is still real though.

She's 10 soon! I may have to break it to her gently, but her best mate might beat me to that one as well.

OP posts:
Raahh · 18/07/2013 09:03

Teeth feature heavily here at the moment- dd1 seems to have lost most of hers in the space of a year. She's not 7 til next month. Ds was 7 before he even lost one! And dh is at the hospital to have some thing done to his gums after the dentist messed up an extraction. And we're all at the dentist tomorrow. Which will be funGrin

DD1 swallowed her last tooth, we think. The tooth fairy in our house is rubbish. She has a habit of leaving the tooth behindGrin

Raahh · 18/07/2013 09:06

And dd1 is still totally convinced I was one of Santa's helpers (helps that I'm so short)- I told her I had to leave when I got too tall. Grin

HoggyTruffle · 18/07/2013 12:09

DS swallowed one of his first teeth when it dropped out whilst I was brushing. I did tell him not to swallow but it was too late. You just have to sleep with your mouth open if there is a lost tooth Grin.

DD writes notes to the tooth fairy and demands a reply. The following morning we have to discuss how big the tooth fairy is if she can hold a pen.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 18/07/2013 12:15

Toothy week here too, DD had to have another filling and one of DH's teeth cracked.

DD swallowed the last one of hers that fell out, she didn't realise it had gone. Same happened with DS's first one.

Raahh · 18/07/2013 12:17

Ds has a high sleeper bed, that I the Tooth fairy can't get up to, without waking him up. So, the teeth had to be left on his table.

Which led to a discussion on why the Tooth fairy has wings, if she isn't going to use them. Grin
