This is the official thread for the Queens tennis unless someone has already set one up in which case this can fade into oblivion

This is the first tournament of the grass court season Grin. Today we can expect 4 times Queens champion Leyton Hewitt as well as a couple of Brits playing. Andy Murray, who is the top seed, has a bye into round 2. We also have Tsonga playing in both the singles and doubles (with Mahut).

And we're back on the beeb so no annoying ad breaks jumping in and disturbing our tennis watching drooling over the players at change of ends So only 5 hours to go until it's starts Grin

Ok, now that Dimitrov is losing I've decided I want him to win.

FarleyD · 12/06/2013 12:18

Oh dear. Down and out.

FarleyD · 12/06/2013 12:28

That poor ball girl, think it's very unfair for the camera to focus on her for so long. She's probably going to be reallly embarrassed about the whole Dimitrov thing in a couple of years and there'll be all that footage of her looking heartbroken!

Raahh · 12/06/2013 13:05

humph.

Only just got in,and have missed the Hewitt/Dimitrov match.

Hewitt really does seem to like QueensGrin - shame about Dimitrov, hopefully he'll have a good run at Wimbledon.
Berdych isn't messing about, then.Grin

Raahh · 12/06/2013 14:40

Bet Mahut is hoping he can repeat last year- iirc he beat Murray at Queens, in the same round.
Still not able to watch today.Sad

Witt · 12/06/2013 15:11

How come I get home just in time for a rain break! Typical. Any exciting matches this morning?

OP posts:
FarleyD · 12/06/2013 15:23

Not really Witt, Hewitt dispatched Dimitrov in two sets, and only saw first set of Berdych/guy whose name I can't remember, but Berdych won it 6-1.

Witt · 12/06/2013 15:44

I don't feel so bad for going out this morning then Smile I wish this rain would hurry up and disappear or that they would replay some decent tennis rather than have this chat between Sue Barker and Andrew Castle and someone.

DevlinMaccabee · 12/06/2013 17:15

Got excited and settled down for a bit of Murray and then possibly Tsonga and then the bloody rain came again - typical!

gailforce1 · 12/06/2013 17:16

No live tennis so looking at the lovely weather we had in 2008! Does anyone else watch these replays or do you just go away and do something else until the live tennis starts again?

DevlinMaccabee · 12/06/2013 17:23

Am liking watching a younger Rafa though....

marjproops · 12/06/2013 17:47

every time theres a rain break they seem to show the Delpo/malisse match over and over again.

on BBC AND eurosport.

worse than when winbledon show yet again the macenroe/borg match over and over again!

purpleprincess · 12/06/2013 17:53

Yes def enjoying younger Rafa..... Those arms Wink think 2008 may have been the first year I errrr 'noticed' him IYKWIM. however now he wears slightly different shorts you can see his legs bit more not that I'm looking

Witt · 13/06/2013 08:42

Is the tennis starting any earlier today because of all the rain yesterday? Although looking out of the window we may be lucky if we get any play today Sad

OP posts:
Raahh · 13/06/2013 14:02

The rain appears to have moved northSad

Been out, so hope to see a bit of the Del Potro match before the school run.

Chubfuddler · 13/06/2013 14:11

Go Andy!

FarleyD · 13/06/2013 14:51

Hi. Dan Evans being somewhat outplayed by Del Potato.

FarleyD · 13/06/2013 15:07

All over for Dan Sad. Do like El Potato though.

Chubfuddler · 13/06/2013 18:11

Anyone watching the second Murray match? It's on the red button. 4-1 up in second set

Witt · 13/06/2013 18:25

Just watched the last game. Looked like a confident win.

OP posts:
marjproops · 13/06/2013 18:32

well done hewitt. looking good. well done double whammy andy.

tsonga....eventually!!

Chubfuddler · 13/06/2013 18:41

Murray very confident. Fingers crossed doesn't appear to be in any discomfort at all. He's become considerably more beefcake in the last couple of years hasn't he?

Ahem.

So who is left - murray, tsonga, Hewitt, and who else?

FarleyD · 14/06/2013 15:14

Anyone watching?

Raahh · 14/06/2013 15:44

just got in from a rain sodden school run- looks like Del Potro has had a fightback Grin

Raahh · 14/06/2013 15:48

But Hewitt can still produce some lovely stuff.

Hope we get to see Tsonga before any rain comes ( thoughit looks quite nice down there).
